Thedelldays Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 lallana staying f'sure Rasiak looks like he is off...oh well http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1733519,00.html
shurlock Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 That's how I read the comment - more interested in bigging up Stern's contribution. Won't be too fussed if we lose Rasiak -Stern holds the ball up better. Either way, we need pace to play off Stern (and Rasiak for that matter) - while he's put in one or two decent performances, still can't see Patterson starting every game.
S-Clarke Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Comments from Adam as well, confirms he's not going anywhere. "I want to build on my goals tally," he revealed. "I got three last season so if I could get into double figures then that would be brilliant. "I'm 100% committed to Southampton, I've got two years left here and I'm definitely going to be here for at least the next year and hopefully a few more." http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1733562,00.html
Pilchards Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Not sure on Stern Johns performance today but it's clear Pardew is biggin him up. It's not often you hear a division one club flattening a Scottish premier team. So overall I was impressed.
Saint Charlie Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Lallana is so talented, we just need to get the best out of him.
Dannyboy_Saint Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 ON todays performance Rasiak looks the better choice to keep over John. Of course this depends on Rasiaks commitement to playing at this level so if he wants out then we really cant afford to keep him which is a shame because i think he can get 20 goals easily this season if he stays.
saint lard Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 From one of the Hearts forums...."Rasiak could'nt even get a start and he was better than anything we had"
Roger Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 I thought stern was brilliant today. He held the ball up great but is obviously not fully fit yet so he came off. Wait and see with rasiak. Great performance.
CrickladeSaint Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Stern held the ball well when he got it and worked well with Lallana for goal. Lallana and Gillett great game. Raz looked well up for it which was great to see. His motives? We'll have to wait and see but obvious that both him and Stern would kick arse in this league. Not overly convinced on Pattersons first touch based on today. Overall signs today brilliant...! AP already starting to put a stamp on performance. Bought season tickets today and can't wait for the 8th!!
A Nut Can Cut You Posted 27 July, 2009 Posted 27 July, 2009 Our manager (among many others) has offered a testimonial on Costa Del Sol's training camps: http://www.sport-and-travel.com/feedback/index.shtml At least it made me laugh. There's a more brochure-friendly comment if you navigate to the professional football section of the site.
Alanh Posted 27 July, 2009 Posted 27 July, 2009 I thought they all played pretty well on Saturday with the exception of Wotton who constantly looked offthe pace. On the few occasions he got the ball he seemed to waste possession with either hopeful punt upfield or a misplaced pass. For me one of the most pressing issues to address is to get in a midfeild general who will control the pace of the game and help link play. Based on last season on this one friendly I don't see Wotton as being that player.
