saints_is_the_south Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 well..i think we will leave that there if you think hearts are at a similar standard to Ajax (who regularly make champions league) then that is up to you..personally, i think you are mental, but hey ho Didn't say they were similar standard, i said the divisions standards are similar & both are good teams. Either way both are better than us on paper so a win today would be a good result.
Minsk Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 No, in with the plebs! He's with a couple of youngsters, guess his kids. He's even been to use the concourse lavs according to my very excited source! Was your source excited because he/she discovered what Sarah Brightman said about him was true? (As in, he would put most Stallions to shame.)
Thedelldays Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Didn't say they were similar standard, i said the divisions standards are similar & both are good teams. i cant see what the "division" has to do with it...we payed Ajax last week and are playing hearts now...Ajax are much better than hearts...probably by a long way...does it matter what leaue they are from..
mcjwills Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Yes but the are probably as good as any team we will meet this year Hants 110 for 2
Minsk Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 2-0 Rasiak scores a poacher's goal with his first touch. I am liking this new era!!
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Rasiak has been on for 5 minutes and has done more running than in the previous 3 years. He looks class and, amazingly, looks quick.
Thedelldays Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Rasiak has been on for 5 minutes and has done more running than in the previous 3 years. He looks class and, amazingly, looks quick. never doubted him whilst he is here..i will always maintain he is the best striker we have
VectisSaint Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 well..i think we will leave that there if you think hearts are at a similar standard to Ajax (who regularly make champions league) then that is up to you..personally, i think you are mental, but hey ho Agreed. Hearts last won the Scottish League in 1960, Ajax have won the Dutch title 29 times. Looks like Ajax had a blip last season, though they are currently top of their League for this one LOL Hearts have indeed finished 3rd 4 times in the SPL (out of 11 seasons, is that regular?), 3rd best in a 2-team league is obviously a great honour. There is simply no comparison.
saints_is_the_south Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Thomas gone off with a knock, hopefully nothing serious, Lancashire on - oh no!
Minsk Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Rasiak has been on for 5 minutes and has done more running than in the previous 3 years. He looks class and, amazingly, looks quick. Maybe he realises that he has to earn a starting place ahead Stern? Maybe AP is the sort of manager he needs? Whatever, I hope he stays and scores more than 30 goals this season!!
eelpie Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 2-0 to Saints! Rasiak (Apols for interrupting the discussion)
VectisSaint Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Rasiak has been on for 5 minutes and has done more running than in the previous 3 years. He looks class and, amazingly, looks quick. Are you sure its Rasiak? "Rasiak" and "quick", two words I thought I would never hear in the same sentence.
Minsk Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Thomas gone off with a knock, hopefully nothing serious, Lancashire on - oh no! Oh dear. As I have said on numerous other threads, we really do need to sign 2 new CBs. It's a long old season.
Mr Saints Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Thomas off, Lancashire on. Oh noes Exactly why I hope Pards will bring in a centre back next week.
Bristol_Benji Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Maybe he realises that he has to earn a starting place ahead Stern? Maybe AP is the sort of manager he needs? Whatever, I hope he stays and scores more than 30 goals this season!! If Pardew manages to keep Rasiak and John, and then keep them both happy (baring in mind they're unlikely to play together) he will have achieved an astonishing feat!
suewhistle Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 "superb link up between R and Lallana" ..well, well..
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Rasiak again, excellent work by Murty, dispossessed their left back and then hung up to far post for Rasiak to head in.
Minsk Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 If Pardew manages to keep Rasiak and John, and then keep them both happy (baring in mind they're unlikely to play together) he will have achieved an astonishing feat! I agree. Maybe this is why Stern hasn't signed the offered contract yet?
Thedelldays Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 3-0? Really? Rasiak again you know, the ****** etc
Minsk Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Rasiak again, excellent work by Murty, dispossessed their left back and then hung up to far post for Rasiak to head in. Excellent! Oh happy days. I am smiling at news from a Saints match (for the first time in what seems like ages). And, Murty gets an assist. Hopefully he will sign up for us on Monday.
Saintjersey Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Sounds like a great game, let's just keep a clean sheet now.
Colinjb Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Hang on, 3-0!? I don't know how to feel right now.....
Genk Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Who cares if its pre-season. Tell me, last time we won by 3 goals?
Saint Billy Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 I am now going to have great fun with my jock mate!
SaintBobby Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 (edited) Who cares if its pre-season. Tell me, last time we won by 3 goals? was just trying to work that out....isn't it literally years ago? edit: did we beat Ipswich 3-0 away last season? When did we last win by 3 at home? vs. Tranmere 6-1 in the League Cup? Edited 25 July, 2009 by SaintBobby
Colinjb Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Who cares if its pre-season. Tell me, last time we won by 3 goals? A team that secured automatic qualification to the Europa League no less.
S-Clarke Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Great game by the sounds of it. Let's take a moment out to laugh at Newcastle... LEYTON ORIENT 6 NEWCASTLE UNITED 1
Colinjb Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Great game by the sounds of it. Let's take a moment out to laugh at Newcastle... LEYTON ORIENT 6 NEWCASTLE UNITED 1 Do like that.
Thedelldays Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Great game by the sounds of it. Let's take a moment out to laugh at Newcastle... LEYTON ORIENT 6 NEWCASTLE UNITED 1 you have to be joking...?
S-Clarke Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 you have to be joking...? Nope.. Full strength Newcastle team too...
Morph Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Thats a bit weird seeing his name was linked a few weeks back as a potential buyer. He was a potential buyer, but with a different consortium. BBC, Theatre and Luvies ring a bell ? Must have caught the bug. Kindest Regards Morph
Panda Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 It may be 3-0 but it doesn't really matter, it is only a pre-season friendly and you can't judge anything by that! (Wow 3-0 WOOT!)
Latheal Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Great result, wonder if Rasiak is changing his mind about leaving or wants to put himself in the shop window? Don't laugh to hard at Newcastle, Orient are in our league!
Minsk Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 YES!! 3-0 AP did say after last week's match that he expected us to win evry match at SMS, beginning with this one. Let's keep it up! Well done to Saints and to AP!!
Thedelldays Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Great result, wonder if Rasiak is changing his mind about leaving or wants to put himself in the shop window? Don't laugh to hard at Newcastle, Orient are in our league! when has he said he wants to leave...?
Minsk Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Great result, wonder if Rasiak is changing his mind about leaving or wants to put himself in the shop window? Don't laugh to hard at Newcastle, Orient are in our league! A very good question (re Rasiak - I hope the answer is the former) and a very salient point re Orient (I had the same thought myself).
Latheal Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 General concensus was that he and Saga were the ones to be shipped out because of their attitude. Don't believe he has ever said it out, just appeared he was not interested.
