kpturner Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 (edited) Hearts game - I read that only the Itchen and Kingsland stands are open with unreserved seating, so I rang the ticket office to see what arrangements I can make because I am on crutches at the moment. It seems the reason that only two stands are open (with unreserved seating) is the fact that they have only sold just over 1000 tickets. It is going to be like a morgue (even with a decent rollup on the day) http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/TicketNews/0,,10280~1722134,00.html Edited 23 July, 2009 by kpturner Added link
Saint_clark Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 (edited) I assume this is V Hearts. It is only to be expected. The same happened V Stoke last year. Edited 23 July, 2009 by Saint_clark
goneawol Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 I assume this is V Hearts. It is only to be expected. The same happened V Stoke next year. Psychic?
Albie79 Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 The same happened V Stoke next year. Making attendance predictions for next years friendlies already? Don't get too far ahead of yourself!
kpturner Posted 23 July, 2009 Author Posted 23 July, 2009 well thats 1004 now going, i got my tickets You bought 2 or 3 then I presume. Shall we have a barbeque and some beers? I am the one with a big grey space boot on.
Ampersound Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 Might be more to do with the fact the kids have broken up for the summer and people have gone on holiday. Perhaps it might have been wise to have said post Ajax that new season ticket purchase this week would have got a free ticket to the Hearts game.
CWD Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 The FP trophy final at Lords is clearly going to attract more people to London than SOuthampton. I'll be keeping track of the score but the cricket has considerably more at stake.
kpturner Posted 23 July, 2009 Author Posted 23 July, 2009 I assume this is V Hearts. It is only to be expected. The same happened V Stoke next year. They are going down and we are going up - perhaps?

It is going to be like a morgue (even with a decent rollup on the day) perhaps they know you're going and so put a load of people off. Why are you still on crutches, you wimp.A real man would be playing again, it was only an achilles injury I played on with mine in fact, I had 2 go on me and I still won motm award as well as sweep the stadium after the game.Pussy

What was the score by the way? That is the first time I have managed three smileys in one post.
lee_saint Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 I've got some Hearts supporting family going.....they expect to stuff us too!
OldNick Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 Mind blowingly hysterical imaginative prose again Nick :-) I wonder why such a talented player couldn't even get in his own saints forum team :-s Giving the other team a chance perhaps? What was the score by the way? That is the first time I have managed three smileys in one post. It wasn't a case of not being able to get into the team, it was a case of letting the youngsters have a bit of glory. I have had my days on the pitch and being as iam i wanted to give back a little to the game. Therefore my motivational tactics and teambuilding skills were more suited.Of course as it was a lot cheaper to be manager than a player did play its part. Oh look at the cheap dig at the result, Argentina beat England in Mexico by 'The hand of God' it was not deserved, well on the night we had 'The wedgie of Phil' not a good look I promise you. Your more knowledgeable and very skilful friend OohTerry will no doubt fill you in on the underhand tactics used. I do hope your injusy isn't TOO painful at present
OldNick Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 We had more support than that at Havant ffs Well the excitement of E'to being helicoptered in at any moment must have added to the gate.
saint_stevo Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 Pre season games don't really matter anyway apparently.........
saint_stevo Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 Well the excitement of E'to being helicoptered in at any moment must have added to the gate. And ending up getting excited over a player released by Crewe last season...... (Eugen Bopp btw)
Saint Fan CaM Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 If its not allocated seating, why do my tickets have seat numbers on? I will be very p*ssed off if someone is sitting in MY seats!
Katalinic Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 We had more support than that at Havant ffs Were they giving out UN food vouchers on the gate?
OldNick Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 (Eugen Bopp btw) i think he was my star midfield general in the Forum match
OldNick Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 Were they giving out UN food vouchers on the gate?Lol To be fair they had a long way to travel, and no doubt they were mainly Havant fans anyway.
RonManager Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 This from their fanwebsite - 'I believe Hearts had been in touch with Southampton about this [cricket final] , to see if they wanted to move the match to another date. But it was Southampton that elected to go with the 25th. '
oldsarum Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 We had more support than that at Havant ffs So did we at Bournemouth, but that wasn't the same day as Hants playing in a cup final at at Lords where at least 8,000 will be going or was it in the school holidays which is why I and many others with kids will be missing the game as we will be on our hols.
Saintjersey Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 With 1000 supporters there, Pardew might change his mind over what a 'well supported' club this is.
VectisSaint Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 Pre season games don't really matter anyway apparently......... Far from it (I know you are kidding), but what people are forgetting is that these games are important for the team/players as part of preseason, quite honestly I couldn't give a stuff in no-one turns up to watch. What I care about is that the team get a good workout and compete and hopefully win, one preseason win would be a plus at this stage.
James_O_Mac Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 only two stands are open (with unreserved seating) is the fact that they have only sold just over 1000 tickets. It is going to be like a morgue (even with a decent rollup on the day) I bet hearts sank when this news was revealed.
iburrows Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 I have tickets for the Northam Me too... Does this mean we will have to sit elsewhere?
eurosaint Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 I have tickets for the Northam The OP says that only the Itchen and Kingsland are open so you must be lying ?????
kpturner Posted 23 July, 2009 Author Posted 23 July, 2009 I think they have stopped selling tickets for the chapel and the northam, so I guess that means you'll have to go in the other stands.
miserableoldgit Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 We had more support than that at Havant ffs Was there something shiny on the ground?
Puddings and Monkeys Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 We had more support than that at Havant ffs And the last time you had 22K+ for a friendly was???? Oh yes, I remember....never. You can't even sell out for your PL games so don't think you've got much to harp on about eh fish face.
kpturner Posted 23 July, 2009 Author Posted 23 July, 2009 Voila: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/TicketNews/0,,10280~1722134,00.html
Golden Balls Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 Can add 17 to that as it's my brothers birthday and we're making a day of it. Getting tickets tomorrow.
This Charming Man Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 I'll be at Lords that day, though even if I wasn't, I sure as hell wouldn't be wasting my time watching us play a Sunday league team from some 3rd world country.
NickG Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 We had more support than that at Havant ffs FA Cup final tickets - extra day on general sale to sell! lol skates have poor poor levels of support.
Toadhall Saint Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 We had more support than that at Havant ffs And for the KANU (non) event?? You know the one, just after you won the FA cup.
The Flying Finn Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 The OP says that only the Itchen and Kingsland are open so you must be lying ????? Nope. I got them before they chose to only open the two stands. My season ticket is in the Northam, hence I got a ticket for my seat. HTH
hells Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 The OP says that only the Itchen and Kingsland are open so you must be lying ????? I take it the 'smilie' is meant to soften your insult? Take that :smt065
RonManager Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 How many Edinburgh casuals are making the trip? According to their fans website, about 200 or so. I've heard others are doing a mini-break to take in the Plymouth game on Tuesday.
Dog Posted 23 July, 2009 Posted 23 July, 2009 (edited) Thanks, I'm taking my son to his 1st ever Saints game, and I wanted it to be a decent crowd so he can be amazed by the atmosphere as I was at 5 years old. Edited 23 July, 2009 by Dog
ozzmeister Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 It is isnt it, maybe everyone has actually gone to the match.....
Master Bates Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 I take it the 'smilie' is meant to soften your insult? Take that :smt065 Hey, that's where I sit, not saying which seat though, don't want some random person from here walking up to me and bopping me on the nose.
John B Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 It is isnt it, maybe everyone has actually gone to the match..... Or at Lords watching Hampshire
wireframebox Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Or at Lords watching Hampshire Speaking of the crowd today and peers, did anyone else see Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber in the Itchen today?
Toomer Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Hearts fans came and made it a good lot of noise and for a small turn out the atmosphere was good.
SKATE_HATE Posted 25 July, 2009 Posted 25 July, 2009 Hearts fans came and made it a good lot of noise and for a small turn out the atmosphere was good. What was the attendance roughly would you say?
