Was brilliant last night. Much prefer it to the apprentice. Bunch of pillocks with million pound businesses fighting for a position in a business where they get even more money, or the opportunity for a normal person to transform a good idea into a multi million pound business. No competition for me! Apprentice is excellent but I do wish they would get a couple of normal people on there!

I was talking about the candidates.

Slightly over exaggerated but they already had highly successful businesses, or very good jobs.

Most of the fools that go on the Apprentice are on between 35-90k in their current jobs (Source BBC website a few months back when my wife said the same thing) A couple have already had "six figure pay deals" in their jobs, but that could easily be 100k including car, pension, share options, bonuses, staff schemes etc...

I'm currently at work with no speakers so can't hear it. What's wrong with just taping the cable to the end of a rod?

I was having trouble routing a fibre optic cable through a thick cavity wall but fortunately we were working at a mechanical engineering building at Southampton University and found an aluminium tube lying around. We threaded the tube between the two walls, passed the fibre down the middle and then removed the tube.

that show is a stitch up. You can see them working a deal together and only play at being competitive to get the deal. They know they can screw the people down and take massive slices of the business and some great ideas for little outlay.

There are plenty of places you can go to get investors in a decent business, This show is people giving away potentially huge fortunes just to get on telly.

Dragons Den-

Contender- "i want £75,000 for 10% of my business"

Dragon- "Ill give you £75,000 for 70% of your business"

It is ridiculous

Yep they take it in turns to pick the winner, and you can see that the way they word it so that it gives the clue to go in halves or as a group.

The poor inventors are also put on the spot as though they would not have a chance elsewhere and have to make snap unbusinesslike decisions

they have a choice, lol. Yes but the pressure put on them is immense. If they were business people they wouldnt go oon the show in the first place, and so it is like taking candy from a kid. They have only a couple of minutes to make a lifetime decision.

You only see them agree in principle but a number of the deals do fall flat on their face when the finer details come to light.

One example was an umbrella vending machine where the entrepreneur said they could be used to advertise on the London Underground. Well, they "could" if London Underground gave their agreement, which they hadn't and were never likely to.
