Crap Airline.

I agree! The only airline ever to not put my cases on the same flight as me. And they did it both times that I flew with them!!

Outbound was only one case (from the 3 cases between our group) and it was delivered the next day. Returning to UK was everything and I had to wait 3 days for them to be delivered.

I've flown with United many, many times, mainly because they come out cheapest with good flight times for the journeys I need to make. Never EVER fly United through San Francisco. Every single time, without fail (4 times now), I've connected down to San Diego and they've lost my golf clubs - once for a week...the other times I had to wait for them to come on a later flight. wait for them to come on the next flight. They lost them for 5 days on a flight back to England through San Francisco too.

I have to say though, they aren't late very often, not in my experience anyway, and the planes on the internal flights are much more modern than American Airlines' planes.

There's a United Airlines complaints website, http://www.untied.com, there are some funny stories on there!!

I was under the impression that if your luggage does not arrive on the same day as you do, you are within your rights to go out and buy replacemnt clothing and certain other 'essentials' like hairdryer, toiletries (sp) etc (within reason obviously), and they will reimburse you.

Maybe wrong or that may be only certain airlines own policies, but worth checking should you ever get caught out.

Not difficult. Most AA planes were test flown by the Wright Bros.

Avoid Alitalia like the plague too.
