I can't imagine Stern is impressed by having to go on trial at Palace. He's been around a long time and everyone knows what he is about. Still if no one else really want him then we can drive the contract offer down freeing more funds for other signings,

It is a shame that we did not give a trial to some of the players we have played over recent years before buying them.

Giving players trials seems a good idea as fitness levels can be checked

Schneiderlin worked hard when he came on Sat, Pardew makes comment about how much the team improved last night when Paterson replaced Saga.

There are alot of IF's here aren't there Nick ?

IF John stays, we need a taller man with good heading ability beside him.

In theory Rasiak fits the bill, BUT.......?

IF Paterson gets some form then he'll be up for it after the New Year (i.e.) half a season of first team games, but we have to allow for poss. injuries suspensions, loss of form etc, IMHO we need another striker anyway as I expect both Poles to depart... sooner of later.

Leroy Lita sounded an interesting name. He's younger and fast but I still like a forward line with a big man there....but I still remember players like Kirby, Chivers, Davies and Channon ..so maybe it's just me.... and size isn't everything - is it ?

i think Stern John is waiting to see what "calibre" of players AP gets in ......if it's only "carthorse" types, he'll be off IMHO

I think he is waiting for the right offer be that here or elsewhere.
