Nottingham has only ever been big enough for one club and that club is Forest. County cannot compete because fathers bring their sons up to support Forest so they'll never be able to tap into new blood.

Considering County are the oldest club in the land, presumably there was room for them at some point...

Thats the second Notts County takeover this season.

Munto walked away and Peter Trembling bought the club and was in talks for the past week or two, but that group have apparently walked away too. They are back to square one looking for investment or a buyer, and also have a winding up order on them.

I would much rather have the Liebherr model than the Notts County version - they are a Portsmouth waiting to happen.

Seem to being getting promoted to League 1 but are they still in financial trouble as I have heard little since Sven left

Are they going to be a force in League 1 next season

There was an article about them in last weeks League News. All debts (c. £7m) have been cleared by a local wealthy supporting couple, so they are AOK as far as the article went.

Interesting Panorama programme last night on the Notts County "fake Sheik" saga.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13109493

Malwhinny was squirming when asked by the reporter why the Football League's "Fit and Proper Owner" tests failed abysmally to weed out what was an obvious fraud - everyone from the Football League to the club chairman to the supporters trust were happy everything was kosha based on a piece of headed paper from a bank that the fraudster had infiltrated.

Further confirmation of how lucky we were/are

Indeed, what stuck me was how incredbily easy it seemed to be.

With regard to the FAPPT, the fA should either scrap it completely (Takes any responsiblity off them), or admit its previous failings.

There was one scary moment though, when the Mr King (The conman) bore an uncanny resemblence to "Barry the Briefcase"
