SO16_Saint Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 Anything over £500,000 and i'll drive him to Swansea after Saturdays performance
BotleySaint Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 He's only had 2 games back in pre season. Hard to tell, but is it heart still in it? He is a current international ? At least a million.
Ponty Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 If he decides he wants to stay and be part of the bright new dawn then we'd never be able to get anyone as good in to replace him. He's certainly got the talent, he just needs the desire. I hope he stays, and I really hope it's because he wants to.
John B Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 If he decides he wants to stay and be part of the bright new dawn then we'd never be able to get anyone as good in to replace him. He's certainly got the talent, he just needs the desire. I hope he stays, and I really hope it's because he wants to. Very true but if Swansea were to offer a two year contract I think he will be off
The Flying Finn Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 We should get rid asap. If he doesn't want to be here he can bugger off. He's nowhere near as good as he thinks he is.
fareham saint phil Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 Thought he'd said he didn't want to be here, if thats the case "see ya"
Foxstone Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 He's been massively disappointing since Burley awarded him a lucrative full contract ! Get rid !
lordswoodsaints Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 I'd rather keep stern, saga has been plop since he signed tbh.
sidthesquid Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 I think we'd do well just to get his salary off the books. Started this season like he ended last, ie never looking like he'll score another goal for us. Time to go.
sussexsaint Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 On the other thread I votes to keep him above the others simply because I know he has the talent but it is nothing without the desire and if he aint bothered ( and I suspect it was him amongst others that AP was talking about on Saints TV) then he can FO to Swansea Shame as he could really make a huge name for himself in this league if he wanted to and use us as a spring board to better things
rolosfc Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 In this league he would score a lot of goals if his heart was in it, which it isn't. Saturdays performance showed that Rasiak was much more up for it and I'd rather keep him and Stern ahead of Saga, with Paterson as a third option.
maddog Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 Over rated, had a good first season when looking for a permenant deal. Been crap ever since, get rid
Nineteen Canteen Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footballnation/swansea-city-fc/2009/07/22/swans-target-saints-polish-strike-marek-saganowski-91466-24210021/ The good news just keeps on rolling in. Done nothing of note since our play-off season and brefly flattered to deceive last season before reverting to type. Sod the money I would take it in Nectar points or air miles.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 We should get rid asap. If he doesn't want to be here he can bugger off. He's nowhere near as good as he thinks he is. That applies to half the squad to be fair
Saint_clark Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 To be honest i'm not sure i'd want to keep him even if he wants to stay.
Saint Paul C Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 He's been massively disappointing since Burley awarded him a lucrative full contract ! Get rid ! And we were warned by a couple of fans from his previous club that this would happen. Contract bandit IMHO. He may be a decent player when he chooses but unfortunatley that is fairly rare. Bye.
suewhistle Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 And we were warned by a couple of fans from his previous club that this would happen. Contract bandit IMHO. He may be a decent player when he chooses but unfortunatley that is fairly rare. Bye. Yep, I remember ART warning us about him. It does seem true from the evidence...
OldNick Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 I think we should let him go for a nominal fee to get rid of his wages.
fish fingers Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 rubbish player, has said he doesn't want to play in league 1, i'd take any cash they are offering.
Gingeletiss Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 The good news just keeps on rolling in. Done nothing of note since our play-off season and brefly flattered to deceive last season before reverting to type. Sod the money I would take it in Nectar points or air miles. Ferk me......was that a happy moment, you actually made me laugh!!
Saint Paul C Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 rubbish player, has said he doesn't want to play in league 1, i'd take any cash they are offering. Even let him go on a free just to get his wages freed up for someone who wants to play for us. (Can he take Pulis with him on a BOGOF deal?)
forever a red and white Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 he's not rubbish is he, no one could get enought of him with his first ten goals while on loan, and then last season when he had a purple patch suddenly it was as if he would have kept us up had he had a whole season here, fans are so fickle. He will score goals in this league, the only reason we should sell him is because of lack of desire and not on his footballing ability
Gingeletiss Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 he's not rubbish is he, no one could get enought of him with his first ten goals while on loan, and then last season when he had a purple patch suddenly it was as if he would have kept us up had he had a whole season here, fans are so fickle. Baird of the land Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 Think Pardew's quote on the OS about not keeping a player no matter how talented if they don't have the desire to play at this level. Bye bye saga
Clifford Nelson Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 Even let him go on a free just to get his wages freed up for someone who wants to play for us. (Can he take Pulis with him on a BOGOF deal?) That's a fantastic idea. They can have Saga, but ONLY if they take Pulis as well. He is clearly never going to play a role at this club and nobody is ever going to show an interest in taking him off our hands.
OldNick Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 Think Pardew's quote on the OS about not keeping a player no matter how talented if they don't have the desire to play at this level. Bye bye sagaI suggest he is talking about lallana
Saint Fan CaM Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 On last nights display, I would offload Saga pronto. Paterson FAR more up for it - able to run intelligently at a defence and score. Saga did not look atall interested and his workrate was poor. Even Stern was telling him where to man-mark FFS.
rick1976.4.38 Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 my cab is ready,id willingly drive him there, one player who shows no desire to play for us,bye saga
corsacar saint Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 He does not want to be here, let him go a.s.a.p.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 (edited) Poland's answer to Brett Ormerod . One of the most overrated players at SFC in it's recent history , an honest appraisal of the record will show he's only been effective for two (all to brief) periods - when he first arrived on loan & and when he returned from BK Aalborg . He doesn't want to be here and we don't want him either so the solution seems pretty obvious . Edited 22 July, 2009 by CHAPEL END CHARLIE
Cabrone Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 He only really plays to his potential when he's looking for a contract. Shame because his potential is very good but he has to be bothered. Wih Raz & John we don't really need him IMO. I'd sell him for anything north of 750k.
trousers Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 There's a good chance Poland will qualify for the World Cup finals next year and Saga will obviously want to maximise his chances of making the squad. Staying at SFC does not maximise his chances. So, if he is 'forced' to stay, his mind will be elsewhere, and for that reason he should go. Shame, one of my favourite players season before last.
Toadhall Saint Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 Ferk me......was that a happy moment, you actually made me laugh!! There's a first for everything!
saints_is_the_south Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 If he wants to stay then he'd be very good in this league, however if his heart isn't in it then can fook off to Swansea.

Wih Raz & John we don't really need him IMO. I'd sell him for anything north of 750k. For all the good he is to us at the moment, I would sell him for anything north of £7.50
The9 Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 Yep, I remember ART warning us about him. It does seem true from the evidence... Yeah, but I also "remember" ART spouting 3,000 parts utter nonsense to every one useful piece of information, so I think the "infinite number of monkeys" clause probably applies here. On the Saga front, if we can get a psychologist to persuade him he's playing for a contract, keep him. If not, wave goodbye - in fact preferably send him on loan to them first, so he can up his value by playing for a contract before January, THEN sell him and watch him disappear again.

Wih Raz & John we don't really need him IMO. I'd sell him for anything north of 750k. No one will pay that for him... ...except possibly Notts County.
Toadhall Saint Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 If he doesn't want to be a Saint on the AP bus then he can go.
Chez Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 He was totally blameless on Saturday. It sounds as though he didn't impress last night but that doesn't mean he doesn't want to be here. If he leaves then it will free up wages but it is essential that we buy in quality.
Torres Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 If not, wave goodbye - in fact preferably send him on loan to them first, so he can up his value by playing for a contract before January, THEN sell him and watch him disappear again. PLAN!
Greenridge Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 he's not rubbish is he, no one could get enought of him with his first ten goals while on loan, and then last season when he had a purple patch suddenly it was as if he would have kept us up had he had a whole season here, fans are so fickle. He will score goals in this league, the only reason we should sell him is because of lack of desire and not on his footballing ability Some of the comments on this thread about Saga's ability are mind blowing... He might not be putting a shift in when needed and he might not want to play in League 1 but to say he is 'rubbish' etc is just ridiculous. He needs a decent manager who can motivate him, simples. Saying that, if he doesn't want to be here then let him go but get some decent money in for him and free up the wages for someone who does want to be here. Be careful what you wish for though as AP has made it clear this team is short on experience and quality...both of which Saga has.
Scudamore Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 I suggest he is talking about lallana I suggest he's talking about several player tbf.
Chez Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 experience and quality...both of which Saga has. I've never been overly concerned with experience to be honest but quality, thats a different matter. Perhaps you can describe Saga's qualities to me as in my mind he lacks pace, is crap in the air, lacks strength, offers poor link up play and is a terrible passer. That leaves work rate which I think is average to say the least (I know others disagree), movement and finishing. I'm not sure his movement is fantastic so that leaves finishing. Is it finishing that is his main quality?

Is it finishing that is his main quality? Good assessment. All the qualitys you need in League one are what Saga doesn't have, as soon as the season was over at Forest he said he didn't want play in this division. Sell him and get him of the wage bill and get someone who wants to play for the club.

Is it finishing that is his main quality? No, you're right he is 'crap in the air' and 'lacks pace', as for his finishing that's poor as well. My apologies. He is a very poor singer though I'll give you that
Channon's Sideburns Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 When Saga signed I thought we had our new Pahars... Now he's just wanted the glory and not to 'score the goal' as he used to put it... Well Saga, there's plenty of glory in firing us back to the CCC - but if you're not up to it..time for another club I suppose. Such a shame, I thought more of you.
