modern matron Posted 21 July, 2009 Posted 21 July, 2009 Ticket office said 8500 sold - deadline before general sale August 1st. They believe between 12 and 15000 will be nearer the final figure. Excellent news ! COYR!
Saints foreva Posted 21 July, 2009 Posted 21 July, 2009 I got told by the ticket office that we had sold 24k for the Ajax game on the day before the game. Should we believe them?
Gigersaint Posted 21 July, 2009 Posted 21 July, 2009 I have to wait for pay day on the 31st before I can get mine, there are probably a few more in my position too, end of the month and beginning of August could see lots more sold I reckon.
Toadhall Saint Posted 21 July, 2009 Posted 21 July, 2009 how many have we sold the last few years? 9K-10K I think.

Exactly what guy said. There will be a lot of renewals after pay day then newbies after that!
NickG Posted 21 July, 2009 Posted 21 July, 2009 last season the top average attendances were Leeds 23k Leicester 20k Huddersfield 13k MK 10k Millwall 8k Guess most teams will bring a fair few to our ground, so if we sell the season tickets expected we should have decent crowds

Iowsaintsfan Posted 21 July, 2009 Posted 21 July, 2009 great start especially where they went on sale so late
NickG Posted 21 July, 2009 Posted 21 July, 2009 our crowd dipped to 13k last season, so in league lower, season tickets of that sort of level is pretty good.

Same problem - but I have just been paid. Add 2 more to the total sales by this time tomorrow!!
Huffton Posted 21 July, 2009 Posted 21 July, 2009 Another one waiting for payday! Would it not be a better idea to hang on for a week before general sale to allow people who are renewing at the end of the month a decent chance to get their own seats? Ticket Office?

saints_is_the_south Posted 21 July, 2009 Posted 21 July, 2009 Anything above 10k would be great, anywhere between 12 & 15k would be just fantastic!
Window Cleaner Posted 21 July, 2009 Posted 21 July, 2009 how many have we sold the last few years? Irrelevant, we are new Southampton , we are in year 1
um pahars Posted 21 July, 2009 Posted 21 July, 2009 They're guaranteed another 6 soon, as our lot still haven't managed to sort theirs all out!!!
sotonjoe Posted 21 July, 2009 Posted 21 July, 2009 I thought first time purchases could still be made now it was just that existing ticket holders had their old seasts on hold till August 1st? Still tempted by a grandstand view from block 7 but can't really afford to splash out £700.

RonManager Posted 21 July, 2009 Posted 21 July, 2009 I thought first time purchases could still be made now. You are right, they can. I bought mine on the first day.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 21 July, 2009 Posted 21 July, 2009 For all those short of cash I understand the club is running an instalment plan based on debit card payments - 0% interest as well .
sotonjoe Posted 21 July, 2009 Posted 21 July, 2009 Yeh, true, stiill £70 per month though on a £350 ticket.
NickG Posted 21 July, 2009 Posted 21 July, 2009 For all those short of cash I understand the club is running an instalment plan based on debit card payments - 0% interest as well . or credit card - even longer to pay!
The Yeoman of beds Posted 21 July, 2009 Posted 21 July, 2009 Received mine today, but lucky to get it. The envelope was ripped down the side and lucky that the book was still in it. Why don't the club send out the tickets/season tickets in a more secure envelope. I have noticed before that it is pretty obvious what is in the envelope, think that there could be better ways of sending.

Excellent news ! COYR! ...would be reasonable but expect a massive surge of half-year STs if we're going well by Christmas.

I have noticed before that it is pretty obvious what is in the envelope, think that there could be better ways of sending. Mine didn't even get to me. I've had to contact the club and have a new one issued. I've decided to pick it up in person at the Hearts match. It should have come with the Ajax ticket. This ticket did arrive in a ripped, muddy envelope with a boot print on it. Heaven knows where the season ticket is! However, the club were excellent in replacing it, no hassles at all.
trousers Posted 21 July, 2009 Posted 21 July, 2009 Hope someone is keeping count of all these extra season ticket sale pledges
chrisobee Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 Hope someone is keeping count of all these extra season ticket sale pledges 17 I think !
Saints foreva Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 Anyone have any idea how many Portsmouth have sold? Would be good to out do them.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 Question: Anyone have any idea how many Portsmouth have sold? Would be good to out do them. Answer: 17 I think ! HTH
SaintBobby Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 I got told by the ticket office that we had sold 24k for the Ajax game on the day before the game. Should we believe them? Sounds about right, actually. The tickets were free with season ticket renewals. I was sent 3, but could only use 2. I imagine 3,000+ of the tickets issued weren't used.

corsacar saint Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 I think you will find that Bradford City season tickets are only around the 100 pound mark.
SaintRichmond Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 I think you will find that Bradford City season tickets are only around the 100 pound mark. .... £110 ......... if you want to get a game .....
Saint Nobby Posted 22 July, 2009 Posted 22 July, 2009 I think the figure is a little disappointing. I let my season ticket go last year so I don't get the cheap renewal and work means I might not be able to get to as many games. A price somewhere between our price and the Bradford price would have been a no-brainer but I can't afford to buy a ticket (and one for my nipper) at these prices - it'll be pay per game. The thought of under 20,000 people in St Mary's fills me with fear - it's horrible, there is just no atmosphere - at least not enough to create a fortress! Maybe this Saturday's game will change my mind.
