NickG Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 What's all this hate for Rasiak? Easily one of our best players on Sat and the team would be loads better with him in than without. Thought he actually worked pretty hard on Sat and played the lone striker well role, it was those around him which werent up to much. I disagree, he first touch was not very good at all and didn't seem to be thinking as quickly as likes of Lallana and Gillett at times. Having said that - he has never been a player who looks good, he has been a player who scores. He was isolated and had one decent header, if he had scored he would have done ok.
Pilchards Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 He has two Green jersey floaters as he calls them that have the freedom of the pitch like gerrard and Lamps for England. The floaters are the high energy runners that are mainly in the centre pitch. Just replaced Gillet with god knows who but Lloyd James it seems is doing it well.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 it's 8 aside on the half pitch and Pardew is kicking the ball in several areas of the pitch before blowing his whistle. It's call position play as he organises the attacks and the defence, He is miffed that we are so out of shape as in tactics but this man really makes his point so clear. love this guy as he's the BOSS Do you think he knows the 'highway's jammed with broken heroes, On a last chance power drive'?

Pilchards Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 smart stuff as he hacks the ball into a flank attacking position and asks the players to get In there places they think is right! Haha they are scared now as nobody can really get it right other than the first one to the ball. HD hits his whistle and then questions the attack and defence what he is doing.
suewhistle Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 I thought we had a professional set up with fitness coaches, fat ratio assessment, bleep tests etc. so why are they so unfit? PS Thanks Pilchards
Pilchards Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 On the same side, or one on each side? same side.

NickG Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Saga and Murty started pre-season training late. I'm not convinced fitness is/was a big problem for us - I think we slowed more when things went against us - it was more a confidence/lack of strong character issue. I would be happy with a more confident better organised side - (and more ability as someone else said!)
NickG Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Are Stern John and Jason Euell there Pilchards? Palace's local paper say John is back training with us and they are likely to miss out on him http://www.thisiscroydontoday.co.uk/latestsport/Palace-John-battle/article-1178884-detail/article.html
Pilchards Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Are Stern John and Jason Euell there Pilchards? Euell is not but John is 100% in the thick of it. He looks to be enjoying it I reckon while rasiak is a ****!
hughieslastminutegoal Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 I would just having them running until they puked. Quick drink. Then running again until they puked again. Quick drink. Then repeat. Why, are they in training for a Saturday night out? I think they might need stamina work so they can extend the drinking time beyond a quick one.
iansums Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Euell is not but John is 100% in the thick of it. He looks to be enjoying it I reckon while rasiak is a ****! Thanks Pilchards. I have always rated John higher than the other strikers, his hold up play is excellent which is something we sorely missed on Saturday.
um pahars Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Why, are they in training for a Saturday night out? I think they might need stamina work so they can extend the drinking time beyond a quick one. Get 'em up the Sports Centre I say. Up and down the hills, a few times around the steeplechase, then up and down the hills again, a swim across the boating lake and then some balance training on the trampolines!!!
sussexsaint Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Thanks for the updates mate - a real insight - fantastic that he is cracking on at such a pace. Pretty Sure all Woggy did was order a fried egg sandwich on the first day I take it the players are all responding well to this .. oh and why is Rasiak a ****?
NickG Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 you're right, Pardew and Dillon (it seems) are standing and watching the one touch setup by Henderson. Dillon has good experience - asst at Reading to Pardew for their promotion to CCC, and then asst to Coppell for their promotion to Prem - would love to see a saints side as fast and organised as that side.
Pilchards Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 A lame header out of defence and pardew slams his whistle down, puts his hands on his knees and then shouts out why it was suck a **** header, Got the whole back four doing press ups now.
NickG Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 not that I doubt him, but just thinking - it would be funny if Pilchards was sat in an office somewhere making all of this up!

I love it absolutely love it - this has given me so so so so sooooo much hope
Pilchards Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 No new faces at all.., Radiaks body language is crap and I hope pardew sees this.
NickG Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 can you confirm that Dillon is definately taking training with Pardew?
Saintjersey Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 No new faces at all.., Radiaks body language is crap and I hope pardew sees this. Cheers Pilchards, well I'm guessing by the sound of it that Pardew won't stand for it if he notices it.
Pilchards Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Just seen a small ginger haired tanned man walk around the outside with a marks and spencers bag under his arm as he looks to be returning something to the kitman, He don't look happy. Haha - Im gonna shoot my source next time.

Pilchards Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 There are two assistants in the distance and one seemed to be talking to AP alot at the beginning, However Henderson is stading on the half way line as Pardew is running the whole show. It's all about the basics and his system at themoment as it has been for an hour now. Btw the attacking team have not scored a goal yet. :-)

Pilchards Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Got the sat down now in the middle of the pitch as he is discussing loads more. It really does look like Dillon, 5 ft 9 and a bold head?
suewhistle Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Was Pulis playing? I can't imagine he'll last long under Pardew.
Matthew Le God Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 What is his system? Formation and who played where?
NickG Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Got the sat down now in the middle of the pitch as he is discussing loads more. It really does look like Dillon, 5 ft 9 and a bold head? gray hair, not sure how tall but thought he was quite big.
Thedelldays Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 What is his system? Formation and who played where? dont think we can read anything itn to it really....
Foxstone Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Was Pulis playing? I can't imagine he'll last long under Pardew. I think he is the cone at the far end !
Gingeletiss Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 dont think we can read anything itn to it really.... And certainly not playing 8 a side................
Saintjersey Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Got the sat down now in the middle of the pitch as he is discussing loads more. It really does look like Dillon, 5 ft 9 and a bold head? Jermaine Wright is our new defence and fitness coach.
Pilchards Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 It's not Dillon that's for sure unless he looks different from the photos. IMHO Henderson is off as he did nothing once Pardew rook over. Doing shooting drills now thank god. He has got the players learning hand clap codes which is bizarre!!
NickG Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 shame Dillon would be excellent signing. No 2 is very important role imho.
Channon's Sideburns Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Much as I appreciate the info from Pilchards...am I the only one thinking that if Pilchards actually does work at Staplewood..that he won't for much longer?? This new era has so far been based on secrecy behind the scenes...can't think that Pardew or the powers that be will be happy with this... I know...'spoilsport'.....but I'm thinking more about Pilchards' employment status than anything - wouldn't want anyone losing their job over posting info on here..

I don't think he works at Staplewood. He's hiding up a tree or something.
Webby Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 I love the fact that he is stopping play and telling them what's wrong, but to me, it's obvious that a coach would do this. If a defender headed a clearance straight to an attacker, I'd flippin tell 'em. You've got to think about it. Do I just head this back the way it came, or do I try to find a team mate? If you can't find a team mate, put it into touch. Simples. Ian Rush used to pounce on defensive headers. He'd run back with the defender as if to compete for the header, and then just drop back and pick up the clearance.
greg_hill Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 I would think the first day would be mostly getting to know the squad and finding his way around in the morning, some fitness work in the afternoon. A few phone calls to agents and players in-between.

Channon's Sideburns Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Oh give over I'm the untouchable! Wotte thought that as well....
VectisSaint Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 We really are out of shape aren't we? I was concerned last pre-season and this that we don't seem to have had stamina work as in previous seasons and it shows. And the preseason before that was the worst of the lot (Burley)
yorkie Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Pilchards me old mucker...still got nothing better to do with your time then spread idle gossip on the pages here? Tanned, ginger and M&S bag - that description is surely too close to home? If only it had been a Tesco's bag that would have confirmed it! Reliable information I bet...training sessions should be public anyway! All this behind closed doors rubbish....no wonder fried egg sandwiches, hip flasks and bacon butties can no longer be the staple diet ay Staplewood! I know it sounds daft but shouldn't they train at least once a week at SMS? It's absolutely no good playing on a superb pitch every other week and losing, when most grounds will be second class anyway! A few more bumps at SMS may just give us a bit more of an edge...we know how well we cope with pitches from the lower divisions! Sure ly fortress SMS is a must for 2009/10. No defeats at home is the minimum we should be striving for! So once we have got shot of all the chaf, put on our shooting boots, organised some protection for Kelvin, and got the team to play as a team and not "I'm here until I get a better offer" individuals the better. Hats off to Mr. Pardew...he obviously has a good understanding of our problems! Perhaps he's been reading the pages of this site - after all we could have told him all our problems for the last 3-years - we've watched it week after week! Life is too short to hang around - I wonder if the goals at SMS are cursed? Surely if out strikers hit the net a few more times during training there it would boost confidence?
