sotonjoe Posted 18 July, 2009 Share Posted 18 July, 2009 For all those not going to the game this afternoon... three cruise ships will leave Southampton at 5pm this afternoon, Independence of the Seas(the BIG one), Grand Princess and Oceana. Should be quite a sight to see all three of them trundling up Southampton Water.

Was a tough call between that and Oceana for a first cruise. Got a great deal in the end though and we all love one of those!

Equinox comes in tomorrow at 101 and yes GB is still at 49. Tried to get on GB but the crew were having none of it lol. But having a night on Equinox next weekend lucky sod .. .any chance of a freebie my way? I would have cruised on it this summer but it's only doing short itineraries. Still, we have a new Celebrity ship in Southampton next summer to look forward to which is in the same class as Equinox; Solstice I think it's called. I may have a go on that one if it does some two week jaunts.
spyinthesky Posted 19 July, 2009 Share Posted 19 July, 2009 Celebrity ships are 5 star. Rather more for the 'older' set so if you are younger than 50 I would plump for Royal Caribbean
saint_stevo Posted 19 July, 2009 Share Posted 19 July, 2009 Pretty sure i saw a celebrity ship in the docks when i came back from the island......it was overshadowed somewhat by an even bigger flashier thing a bit further up, independance of the seas? How much are these ships worth exactly? We had a mini argument about it all....
