Miffy Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 I notice with interest that the club are setting up temporary box offices in the car parks to cope with peak demand ahead of todays Ajax game. Excellent idea, maximize revenue and give the people what they want. I would like to see the new regime extend this creative thinking to the concourses and offer a much more rapid service in the food and drinks service. Maybe a walkthrough area where you pick up your (recently poured) beer and pay at one of 'many, available tills. The current traditional bar/counter system only manages to serve a small proportion of those who would like to purchase refreshments, particularly at half time. Give the people what they want and maximize revenue =everyone wins Does anyone agree and if so do you have any good ideas on how to do it? COYR
Draino76 Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 TBH just put some free beer on for today, he can afford it. This should also ease the pain of the Dutch drubbing.
trousers Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 How about some fasttrack pre-pay 'lanes'? Buy vouchers online in advance and simply exchange for pre-poured beer. Fasttrack lanes would also be 'beer only'. Simple?
Miffy Posted 18 July, 2009 Author Posted 18 July, 2009 Pre-paid tokens, excellent idea would definately get the queues moving. I'm always a fan of free beer, but we mustn't take advantage of MLs good nature. He's done a great thing for us. We must support him in return (maybe by buying more beer )
so22saint Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 What about a 30 ft wide fondue set in the car park where you dip in entire baguettes... I'll get my coat.
saintsue Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 How about filling glasses to the brim. Sometimes they are barely three quarters full and the bar staff will not top them up. The caterers must be making a fortune from short measures.
Weston Super Saint Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 How about filling glasses to the brim. Sometimes they are barely three quarters full and the bar staff will not top them up. The caterers must be making a fortune from short measures. If they are oversized glasses, then they will have a mark on to be filled to. If they are normal 'pint' glasses, they are legally obliged to 'top up' the pint to a MINIMUM of 95% drink and 5% head.
Footballfan Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 have 1 person taking the money and one given out the drinks would cut down on the time taken to be served.
Huffton Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 Perhaps if they just employed enough people and stop employing retards who can't work a simple till it would ease things. And while were at it a better choice of beer/cider would improve revenues.
ericofarabia Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 have 1 person taking the money and one given out the drinks would cut down on the time taken to be served. Don't even think about going down that route ... they use this system here in Dubai at virtually every out door function, result you end up queueing twice and more time is spent with the pourer and cashier discussing who paid for what rather than doing their respective jobs. Total nightmare.
Hedgehog Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 Perhaps if they just employed enough people and stop employing retards who can't work a simple till it would ease things. And while were at it a better choice of beer/cider would improve revenues. Harsh, but true !!

sotonjoe Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 Pay peanuts, get........ ... shells all over the floor?
Pat from Poole Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 Perhaps if they just employed enough people and stop employing retards who can't work a simple till it would ease things. And while were at it a better choice of beer/cider would improve revenues. I know I shouldn't have laughed at that, but much LOL'age.
sotonjoe Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 I'd like better pies and burgers; meat wise I mean.
kpturner Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 It would be great to buy a cheeseburger that actually had cheese in it.
kpturner Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 If you want quicker service, just pick any queue that I am *not* in.
harvey Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 A good start would be actually serving a drink in a reasonable time.....15 minutes to get a pint at half time in Kingsland North, what's that all about
saint boggy Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 A good start would be actually serving a drink in a reasonable time.....15 minutes to get a pint at half time in Kingsland North, what's that all about  you should've gone in the Chapel.....there were only 2 minute queues, as there were only about 15 adults in there today, along with what seemed like 15,000 kids!!!!
the boy from saints Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 I must admit it seemed worse than ever today. We didn't even bother queueing because we knew we'd miss some of the footie.
