Crouch Ender Posted 17 July, 2009 Posted 17 July, 2009 I didn't see this posted elsewhere (apologies if I've missed it) but today's Grauniad sport blog has an article entitled 'Great Team Goals' which features the Channon one v Liverpool in 1982 at number 3. A nice little write-up too so well worth a look - as the goal always is of course: http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2009/jul/17/joy-of-six-great-team-goals?commentpage=2 Uncanny that someone posted a link to that goal on here only a couple of days back - and great to see it get some recognition
benjii Posted 17 July, 2009 Posted 17 July, 2009 Fluke IMO. That lot have nothing on Lowe Total Football ®.
Saints Mad Si Posted 17 July, 2009 Posted 17 July, 2009 Anyone got a link to it, havent seen it for ages.
Crouch Ender Posted 17 July, 2009 Author Posted 17 July, 2009 Anyone got a link to it, havent seen it for ages. There's a link in the blog itself - click on the heading for the goal - then enjoy
Chorlton Posted 17 July, 2009 Posted 17 July, 2009 It is quite sweet seeing that Brazil goal in 1st place (IMO, the best goal ever, I love the swagger and the arrogance of it) and seeing humble old Saints in 3rd. Though we had a bit of swagger & arrogance in the early 80's.
chrisobee Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 There's a link in the blog itself - click on the heading for the goal - then enjoy Yes, there is but to make it easier and take you straight to You tube: Always lots of great Saints video clips on the same page.

Though we had a bit of swagger & arrogance in the early 80's. We did have a fair bit of swagger and arrogance and rightly so! We never seemed to get the credit we deserved. I remember picking up a video reviewing the 1983/84 season and even though we finished 2nd to Liverpool in Div 1 and only by 3 points there was no mention of us anywhere on the box of the video though Man U ( who finished 4th) and Arsenal who were 6th were mentioned in some detail after Liverpool. Needless to say I did not buy the video !

sotonjoe Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 Prob the one I posted the other day! It was excellent.
alehouseboys Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 Prob the one I posted the other day! It was excellent. Surely there's someone in there you want to slag off? Anyways, for me, the greatest goal ever. A top quality 16-pass move, ripping apart the "mighty" Liv'pool. What a fantastic bunch of players on that pitch. Gerald Sinstadt: "You wont see a better goal than that this season!". alehouseboys: "Ever".

SW11_Saint Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 Talking of the Guardian - somewhat miffed that Pardew's appointment doesn't even warrant one line in it's sports section. It's obsession with the Premier League (+ Newcastle) is getting a little tedious...
