spyinthesky Posted 17 July, 2009 Share Posted 17 July, 2009 See Eastleigh Boro Council, under leader Keith House, are underwriting a £35m expansion of the Rose Bowl. Fair enough and good to see improved facilities for cricket fans. However wasn't this the Keith House who wanted nothing to do with football at Stoneham. Double standards methinks
docker-p Posted 17 July, 2009 Share Posted 17 July, 2009 Keith House is a small fish in a small pond. Bloody silly that the ground is in Eastleigh anyway. The local government boundaries should be re-drawn, south of the M3 should be Southampton.

Faz Posted 17 July, 2009 Share Posted 17 July, 2009 I can't see a shopping centre and cinema complex attached to the Rose Bowl
Dannyboy_Saint Posted 17 July, 2009 Share Posted 17 July, 2009 Technically its between Hedge End and West End, not Eastleigh though it is covered by Eastleigh Borough Council.
corsacar saint Posted 17 July, 2009 Share Posted 17 July, 2009 I think Rod Bransgrove is a far more amenable person to deal with, than some in the past.
Right sider Posted 17 July, 2009 Share Posted 17 July, 2009 Technically its between Hedge End and West End, not Eastleigh though it is covered by Eastleigh Borough Council. That is because Hedge End along with Bursledon, Netley and Hamble are part of Eastleigh. They have a remit to be the greenbelt to stop a merging of Southampton and Fareham council land. ooohTerryHurlock Posted 17 July, 2009 Share Posted 17 July, 2009 Interesting though that Eastleigh council can find £35m and Southampton Council couldn't find a poxy £12.5m to keep the club going!! I guess at least Eastleigh appreciate how important a top notch sporting venue is to an area - where as Southampton City Council has absolutely no vision what so ever. I find it incredible that SCC didn't see the potential of buying SMS. Fair play EBC. Col
