Guided Missile Posted 29 July, 2009 Posted 29 July, 2009 The poll results don't seem to have the weighting for the amount of money donated. How is that to work, ie someone that donated £50 gets 10 votes, someone that donated £5 gets one...?

How is that to work, ie someone that donated £50 gets 10 votes, someone that donated £5 gets one...? The idea for the vote was that each contributor gets one vote, just to keep things simple as we're going to have to get it done fairly quickly. The "weighted" bit comes in for the prize draw, i.e. the more you contribute, the more chance you have of winning.

Reflects well on the site and it's members, IMO...
trousers Posted 29 July, 2009 Posted 29 July, 2009 Done. Voted 'new player' and 'charity donation' nice job Steve - cheers
shirleysfc Posted 29 July, 2009 Posted 29 July, 2009 I can see the polls but apparently I'm not allowed to vote in them? Anyone else find this?
stevegrant Posted 29 July, 2009 Author Posted 29 July, 2009 Is it too late to donate? Yes, I'm afraid so. I can see the polls but apparently I'm not allowed to vote in them? Anyone else find this? Can you try it again?
shirleysfc Posted 29 July, 2009 Posted 29 July, 2009 Yes, I'm afraid so. Can you try it again? Just tried again. I can see the results but it still says "You may not vote in this poll". Cheers
stevegrant Posted 29 July, 2009 Author Posted 29 July, 2009 Hmmm... will have to look at that in a bit more detail later. In the meantime, can anyone else who has access but cannot vote in the poll please reply to the two poll threads with their vote.

St.Patrik Posted 31 July, 2009 Posted 31 July, 2009 A fiver from me is on its way by Paypal. An idea - since there will be money left over why dont buy a couple of ST and give match tickets to people around town that cant afford to go to a game ? Just a thought.
stevegrant Posted 3 August, 2009 Author Posted 3 August, 2009 For those who have contributed, please go to the player sponsorship forum - major update that requires a quick response.

Jimmy_D Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 didn't get the chance yesterday to say yay, so glad I didn't have to ^^
stevegrant Posted 5 August, 2009 Author Posted 5 August, 2009 Right, I think everyone's had more than enough time to vote in the polls, so here are the results. "New Signing" was the overwhelming winner in both player polls, and as a result of that we will be sponsoring Graeme Murty. I also got an e-mail from the club on Monday to tell me that Simon Gillett had become available. This was put to another poll, as his name hadn't been included on the original list. The vote was overwhelmingly in favour (65 to 2) of sponsoring him plus the overall vote winner from the other two polls. So there we have it... SaintsWeb Forum Members will be sponsoring Graeme Murty and Simon Gillett for the forthcoming season
ottery st mary Posted 5 August, 2009 Posted 5 August, 2009 Great result and well done Mr Grant...You are a star..... Graeme and Simon......Now show us what you are made of. COYRs

krissyboy31 Posted 5 August, 2009 Posted 5 August, 2009 Feel a bit sorry for Oscar Gobern. He was gazumped!!
Ponty Posted 5 August, 2009 Posted 5 August, 2009 Feel a bit sorry for Oscar Gobern. He was gazumped!! He was. It must've been like getting sniped on eBay if he was watching at home.
Scudamore Posted 5 August, 2009 Posted 5 August, 2009 He was. It must've been like getting sniped on eBay if he was watching at home. Which i'm sure he was! Little harsh on Oscar i agree and i think it would have been nice to get in there early as i really believe he's destined to be a fans favorite. Didn't stop me voting for Gillett though as it's a safer bet for now!

So what happens now? When they are shown on the big screen at the start of the match it'll say "Sponsored by Saintsweb" ? Also, how much were they each and was there anything left for Saints in the Community? Finally, are we going to ask them to do a monthly 'this is what it's like' article for Saintsweb? stevegrant Posted 5 August, 2009 Author Posted 5 August, 2009 So what happens now? When they are shown on the big screen at the start of the match it'll say "Sponsored by Saintsweb" ? Yeah, there'll be an image next to the player's name and photo on the big screen when they're announced in the line-up pre-match. It'll also be listed in the programme and on the OS - see here for Simon Gillett's profile page  Also, how much were they each and was there anything left for Saints in the Community? They were both £700 each (as likely first-team regulars), so there's nothing left for SITC. SaintsWeb has made up the shortfall (haven't worked it out exactly yet, but it's somewhere in the region of £50-60 or so) as we didn't quite get £1400 from contributors. There will be some money from SaintsWeb going to SITC, though - I've not got off my arse to sort out the gate money from the forum match yet  Finally, are we going to ask them to do a monthly 'this is what it's like' article for Saintsweb? Haven't done so yet, but it's something I could ask...
Ex Ringwood Saint Posted 5 August, 2009 Posted 5 August, 2009 Quality result !! Two players who will feature heavily and glad to be a part! Looking forward to the prize draw later in the season too!
Tractor_Saint Posted 5 August, 2009 Posted 5 August, 2009 It'll also be listed in the programme and on the OS - see here for Simon Gillett's profile page  Top job Steve!! We're famous As for the monthly newsletter from each of them, think someone mentioned that they wouldn't have to attend any events on behalf of their sponsors so a page of A4 once a month of experiences would be a suitable compromise - and would be really interesting to hear their side of things! (and hope it isn't heavily censored by the club)
Ponty Posted 5 August, 2009 Posted 5 August, 2009 Good point about the lack of sponsorship events. Perhaps they could invigilate the next Forum match at SMS.
dellgirl Posted 5 August, 2009 Posted 5 August, 2009 Congratulations on this great achievement,it says all we need to know about the true supporters of this fabulous Club..may we have a good season, support our boys COYR.
SO16_Saint Posted 5 August, 2009 Posted 5 August, 2009 do you reckon that Gillett and Murty will be exempt from the post-match slagging off on here???
Hatch Posted 5 August, 2009 Posted 5 August, 2009 How long before they get fed up with being hassled around town... 'I bloody sponsor you, so get your arse in gear/buy me a drink/tell XYZ player he's a tit etc etc'

Verbal Posted 5 August, 2009 Posted 5 August, 2009 I'm disappointed that Gillett's player profile fails to carry the 'FFS' Saintsweb logo. I thought we'd discussed this.
sammy_the_hat Posted 6 August, 2009 Posted 6 August, 2009 Yeah, there'll be an image next to the player's name and photo on the big screen when they're announced in the line-up pre-match. Maybe there could be a regular draw amongst contributors, with the winner getting to have their name/an image of their choice up on the screen too, just for one game.
trousers Posted 6 August, 2009 Posted 6 August, 2009 I'm disappointed that Gillett's player profile fails to carry the 'FFS' Saintsweb logo. I thought we'd discussed this. Indeed. Thought the same... Fans Forum Sponsorship (FFS) See what happens when I let my membership lapse....
dubai_phil Posted 6 August, 2009 Posted 6 August, 2009 Good point about the lack of sponsorship events. Perhaps they could invigilate the next Forum match at SMS. INVIGILATE, INFOOKINVIGILATE??? Stuff that, they're already booked as "inspired" subs for my home team
Edmonton Saint Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 See if only we had waited a couple more days we could have sponsored Lambert
St Marco Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 Saw the Saintsforum under Gilletts picture on the big screen at the match
hamster Posted 11 August, 2009 Posted 11 August, 2009 See if only we had waited a couple more days we could have sponsored Lambert We still could. I reckon quite a few missed the boat before as it closed just before pay day. Steve, would you consider contacting the club again to see how much would be needed to add him to our portfolio?
stevegrant Posted 11 August, 2009 Author Posted 11 August, 2009 They advertised it on the original unveiling article. It was £900+VAT, which we don't have. That bit of the article's now gone, so I'm guessing someone took up the offer quite quickly.
