Nineteen Canteen Posted 18 July, 2009 Share Posted 18 July, 2009 Virgin. What with that hot and stylish? Ferrari (in red). JB must be use to pinging knicker elastic at 100 yards driving around Southampton on his own in that beast with Fleetwood Mac blaring out of his cassette deck. Dude alert! ladysaint Posted 18 July, 2009 Share Posted 18 July, 2009 Seeing as this has been running for just a couple of days this is a fantanstic amount and looks as though we will also be helping Saints in the Community.
syd_barrett_saint Posted 18 July, 2009 Share Posted 18 July, 2009 Great stuff. When Marcus signs Kaka up (he did after all joke about NOT signing him, not about signing him, right?), we'll have to nip in and bag him as our player to sponsor! And it's fantastic that it looks like there will be money left over to help Saints in the Community too :-)

ladysaint Posted 19 July, 2009 Share Posted 19 July, 2009 I think they were last seasons as the new season hasnt really started yet. Johnny Bognor Posted 19 July, 2009 Share Posted 19 July, 2009 OK, it's over the limit, so is it a case of going for a second player or will all funds over and above the cost of one player go to charity??? Or would the sponsorship people throw in more tickets to the dinner for every £x given over and above the sponsorship amount? This may entice more people to put money in the pot. Guided Missile Posted 20 July, 2009 Share Posted 20 July, 2009 I think it may be worth, if there is enough money to vote for two players, that when a poll is run to chose the sponsored player, one of the players is "Saints in the Community". It seems the fairest way....

Guided Missile Posted 20 July, 2009 Share Posted 20 July, 2009 Think thats the idea mate, one main player and one up and coming nipper Baj, the idea is that there's one main player vote and a second vote on whether any surplus funds goes to another "up and coming nipper" or the "Saints in the Community" charity. That way, the contributors get to vote on how their donations are used.
dubai_phil Posted 20 July, 2009 Share Posted 20 July, 2009 Think thats the idea mate, one main player and one up and coming nipper Seeing as we are unlikely to need our players to do much in the way of "corporate" appearances, perhaps we could ask (them) if they could do a simple monthly, what it's like article for the main forum website. You know, sort of month one, what do they see as the changes in training Month two, how do they go about "bedding in the new guys" what they have learnt from them If it's a nipper, what they do outside of training, what they thought of things like media training courses or that they didn't know before, strains of being away from home etc. Doesn't need to be anything controversial, but something just a bit more human interest than the "looking to break through, looking for 3points" stuff that goes on the OS Shouldn't be too difficult or controversial or even take up too much time (perhaps one of our team on here is a journo who could make it a simple emailed Q&A thing) Has to be more interesting for our guys than waiting in the players lounge to shake hands and say hello to some sponsor's big client
Northam Girls Posted 20 July, 2009 Share Posted 20 July, 2009 WOW - £1005 all ready and still a week to go at this rate we will be able to sponsor 2 players AND donate to Saints in the Community. Love Dubai Phil's idea of day in the life of player - not a lot of work from the player and a closer bond for the forum to the team. Well done boys and girls keep it up COYR :-)
