Spades Posted 16 July, 2009 Posted 16 July, 2009 Im likely, but i may only stay 60minutes so i dont upset people if i stop running
hamster Posted 16 July, 2009 Posted 16 July, 2009 Just read last weekends thread and wonder what people think about stopping for a 5 minuter breather half way through and changing ends? Might keep people from getting too tired and dehydrated but what do \i know. I can't commit at the moment as I am mother-in-law sitting whilst Mrs hamster does her Chick Flick weekend away in Londinium with Sister and best friend.

This is a very good (and simple) idea hamster. Wouldnt hurt to have a 5minute break after 45mins. Just too cool off as the weather is generaly very muggy (being summer), and gives us an opportunity to re-organise our teams. Hope all is well hamster (Sylvinho) and your able to return soon
Andy_Porter Posted 16 July, 2009 Posted 16 July, 2009 A five minute break is a good idea. You can bring the half time oranges Asa.

(Only joshing of course. I love my MIL to bits) As I am on a roll regarding brilliant ideas, how about when a goal is scored both teams have to change goalie (NOT with each other)? Does that make sense?

hamster Posted 16 July, 2009 Posted 16 July, 2009 Maybe it's the silver hair. Depot, I think you must be confusing me with someone else. Silver hair! you cheeky fecker. I understand that some of yous lot upset Calvin last week too with comments about him wetting his pants, maybe him and I should jump you all in the car park?
hamster Posted 16 July, 2009 Posted 16 July, 2009 Hamster Now I get it, it was that pirouette (sp) goal wasn't it?
JustMike Posted 17 July, 2009 Author Posted 17 July, 2009 What's all this about then? a load of us get together and have a game at fleming park every sunday. come along, its free ;-)
JustMike Posted 17 July, 2009 Author Posted 17 July, 2009 Im likely, but i may only stay 60minutes so i dont upset people if i stop running lol!! its not about that for me, its lazy buggers who never defend, complaining that they are too knackered and yet when the ball is at the other end of the pitch they find loads of energy and run faster than Bolt!! Yes, everyone loves to score but when we are playing 6 a side and we have 4 up front it gets ridiculous for the one guy at the back! still love you though ;-)

Jillyanne Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 The weather is supposed to be as awful tomorrow as it is today - best of luck you lot.
Robsk II Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 I should sit this out, my toe almost certainly needs a rest. God knows wht's up with it, I might have a little jog tomorrow and see.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 a load of us get together and have a game at fleming park every sunday. come along, its free ;-) Cool, I can't tomorrow, but sounds good. Might have to come along in future though, thanks
hamster Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 I am pleased to inform all concerned that I have been given the all clear to attend. I know it is an all weather pitch, does it follow that we are all weather players?
BotleySaint Posted 19 July, 2009 Posted 19 July, 2009 i don't think i'll be able to make it today now. Not that I had actually said I would on the thread, but I told spades etc at the football I'd be there! Sorry. Toe is giving me some grief today.
Spades Posted 19 July, 2009 Posted 19 July, 2009 Im going, but my ability to run is seriously limitied as im ****ing hungover!
Robsk II Posted 19 July, 2009 Posted 19 July, 2009 sorry. toe is giving me some grief today. stop f**king with my head!
Robsk II Posted 19 July, 2009 Posted 19 July, 2009 I've 'passed a late fitness test', ie I just went for a little jog in the garden and it seems better(ish). I think I will be there, Ben is there too, if also injured still... I have a new theory about the toe - I have worn flip-flops for a much greater time than ever before this summer, and my feet can't have been used to it. I haven't done so for over a week, and it seems a bit better. Over flip-floppage, I think?
lee_saint Posted 19 July, 2009 Posted 19 July, 2009 Over-floppage causes me toe problems....wear them for a week and I'm walking like a gimp.
Spades Posted 19 July, 2009 Posted 19 July, 2009 Iv been getting slight toe problems from floppage! It seems everyone suffers the same problems!! BAN FLOP FLIPS!
Spades Posted 19 July, 2009 Posted 19 July, 2009 ps: is anyone going down early today for a kick about b4 we play?
Robsk II Posted 19 July, 2009 Posted 19 July, 2009 No, I might be a few minutes early but I live half an your away now instead of about 8 minutes. ****e. Lee, I'm not sure that's the flip flops
hamster Posted 19 July, 2009 Posted 19 July, 2009 Over-floppage causes me toe problems....wear them for a week and I'm walking like a gimp. Do you lot not weat 'thongs' on your feet in Oz?
Spades Posted 19 July, 2009 Posted 19 July, 2009 Brilliant game today lads, really enjoyed it, especially as we won 6-3 after being 3-0 down I think it really helped that we introduced the rule where if you were caught having a conversation about anything other than the match you had to kiss lee on the botty... its really stamped out the slackers and the game was so much better for it... though my lips do still taste a little chocolatey after that one incident when i was talking about feta cheese...! Toughy for MOTM today... id probs go with barcasaint, won lots at the back and scored a couple goals aswell
Robsk II Posted 19 July, 2009 Posted 19 July, 2009 Was a good game in the end, can feel it in my toe now but am pretty pleased how it turned out. Will not play Tuesday, I think - but seems I made the right decision to play. As for that new rule, Spades - it sorted most people out, but it seemed to make Simon WORSE...!

BARCELONASAINT Posted 19 July, 2009 Posted 19 July, 2009 Really enjoyed it today, very even match. Was amazed it was still 0-0 after 40 minutes but goes to show how much effort was being put in. Was pleased to get a couple of goals, especially the header from the corner. Looking forward to next week already

Andy_Porter Posted 19 July, 2009 Posted 19 July, 2009 Cracking game today one of the best in a while, loved how we managed to turn it around from 3-0 down. One of these days I'll play without a hangover.
