TijuanaTim Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Does anyone know if he is still training with the club - trying to stay?
Ponty Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 I'll just alter the title a tad, as "Latest On Stern John" sounds like you're going to give us news rather than ask for it.
Iowsaintsfan Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 I heard from my Palace mate that the offered him a contract today
Legod Third Coming Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 We need to keep hold of him. He could score 40 goals in this league!!!
shurlock Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 I heard from my Palace mate that the offered him a contract today Palace are out on a preseason tour of the US, so can't see anything happening just yet.
Saints foreva Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 I think Euell and John are waiting for the new manage appointment before they sign for another club.

Chez Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 watch how fast he is when a big fat contract is waved under hs nose.
letissisgod Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Had a conversation with Wayne Thomas today on the golf course, apparently Stern wants to stay, but has a back problem, he is in training though. He also mentioned that some of the older boys are worried about WGS coming back as he will put them through hell in training.

We've had enough disunity in the ranks before - it'll be Sturrock all over again.

Good - put the fear back into them. they've had it too ****ing easy for the past 3 years - that's why we're where we are. time to get some fitness and urgency back into this team.

Saint_Mabes Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Damn right - they'll thank him for it in the long run.
kpturner Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Damn right - they'll thank him for it in the long run. Maybe a few hours after the long run - certainly not in the middle of it.
pele Posted 16 July, 2009 Posted 16 July, 2009 He's fat, he's round, he's worth a million pounds! not!
whizzpop Posted 16 July, 2009 Posted 16 July, 2009 In that case I too am against WGS. We've had enough disunity in the ranks before - it'll be Sturrock all over again. I hope you are joking - this club needs discipline and unity - Strachan will achieve both :smt028

Couldn't agree more. I'd run around all day if you wanted to pay me a couple of grand a week...

trousers Posted 16 July, 2009 Posted 16 July, 2009 He also mentioned that some of the older boys are worried about WGS coming back as he will put them through hell in training. Just to clarify...are they worried because they know he's definitely coming back or just worried what will happen if he comes back? Cheers

saint1977 Posted 16 July, 2009 Posted 16 July, 2009 In that case I too am against WGS. We've had enough disunity in the ranks before - it'll be Sturrock all over again. The Saints side of 2002/3 built by WGS was the fittest and most united Saints side since LM's time as manager. I want to see a team next season that will run through walls for us and not the wimps who pulled out of tackles in the debacle of the Forest and Doncaster games. In fact you can add that for most of last season's home games.
OfnPanad Posted 16 July, 2009 Posted 16 July, 2009 Damn right - they'll thank him for it in the long run. +1.
Golden Balls Posted 16 July, 2009 Posted 16 July, 2009 At the very best we'll lose one of Stern, Rasiak or saga. I think we'll be very lucky have have just one of them come the end of the transfer window. I like the thought of Thomas saying the players are worried what WGS will put them through in training. Just goes to show they aren't being worked hard enough!!!

sotonjoe Posted 16 July, 2009 Posted 16 July, 2009 The players are expecting WGS back then... No, they are worried IF he comes back. There's a difference.
