so the ajax game.

SET

Don't forget though that a few thousand would have been given away free to season ticket holders and, therefore, quite a few may not actually make it to the game (I got four tickets but now will only be using two). However, I'm really hoping for a big crowd - would be absolutely fantastic for a pre-season friendly !

A tad late in the day I guess, but what about an extension of the idea at the end of last season whereby people bought and donated their tickets to a local school? Would be good if any season ticket holder who has tickets they can't use could do something similar.

(Perhaps something the ticket office could have thought of in hindsight last week)

Full house here we come! COYR!

(although I suspect a fair slice of season ticket holders who got free tickets may not be able to make it)

If people can't go who have 'free' tickets then maybe let the club know so that those seats can be resold. :?:

It does seem like a bit of a missed opportunity if people don't intend using them. One would have thought/hoped that the ticket office asked the question when selling season tickets rather than dishing them out by default.

Normally this would be a good idea but all the ticket office staff currently have enough on their plate, as they are working flat out trying to deal with the exceptional demand for season tickets and those purchasing tickets for the Ajax game.

There was a scheme at the end of last season to donate unused tickets to others. We should do this imo.

As many as possible should be there to see exhibition footie from Ajax, and support the Saints. This is the prelude to a new beginning ON the pitch (which is a relief to be saying).

(just seen this recommended above)

I so wish that I could be there. Saints against the team from the city where I was born, and lived for 30 years! I would love to experience it live. The result is irrelevant for me (although a win would probably make me have an accident in my pants).

Received my Ajax tickets today. Have 2 x 8 pair season tickets and was amazed that the ticket office have actually sent me 4 free Adult tickets.

I haven't got the kids this weekend so I can take two adults along with me for free!! Anyone got the same with childrens ST Ajax tickets?

never been bothered about pre season friendlies

Yeah - I can see why you don't want to go. Free tickets for ST holders, crowd of over 20k people, fantastic atmosphere, welcome our new owner and perhaps new manager and a chance to meet up with familiar faces down the pub for a pre-match drink then to see some more familiar faces in the ground. Would be really sh!t to be honest and best to stay at home.

Wish I could be there, but I cannot despite the free ticket. Don't think it will be a complete thrashing as such, but it will not be a day to celebrate a victory TBF.

I Too Like Saint Fan CaM Also Can't Make The Game As I Will Be Busy That Day But I Would Be There Supporting The Team Even If We Do Lose ;)!

But This Is Saints And We Will See Come The Day!

COYR :D!!

Sky's score centre says a Bristol city XI though, so i assume it was pretty much their reserve/youth team.

And we'll put out the SFC XI - a close game would be fantastic result for us on Saturday - and if it's not that close then less than 4-0 still shows we're a championship club and fate has us in the wrong league :)

Anyone else thinking they won't be bothering using their complementary tickets. Its going to be an embarrassment.

We need manager and players signed up before this weekend if we are to have any sort of chance in the first couple months to clear the -10

What a complete load of ****ing sh!te. You'd find something to moan about if we won the Champions League FFS

Just maybe the more people turn up and the better the atmosphere, the more money Markus wil be prepared to put in. Who knows?

Stay away then. No one will give a sh!t

I'm going for the relief, for the celebration, for the beers with mates, for the gratitude.... hopefully for some good football. I couldn't give a flying **** what the result is.

As an aside, in the past few years haven't we found that the Ted Bates Trophy opponents have tended to have a friendly against a Prem side just after and have played slightly weaker teams against us?

Please may I draw your attention to this subsequent post by Legends?

Scrap first post just feeling despondant today, we buried gramps earlier

A degree of latitude, perhaps, Billy?

Anyway, it has been a good excuse for many to post very upbeat, positive messages about the match and most have expressed little concern that we might get thrashed, as they are just happy to be back there and to have the opportunity of welcoming our new owner and possibly our new manager.

my condolences LW7

Thanks TS

Been a rough day, need Saturday to come round quick and hopefully get back to some sort of normality.

Again sorry about first post, think i just needed something to bleat about earlier and just happened to be reading the Cheltenham match report at the time.

Bodes well...

Also heard there was loads of trouble with the Ajax fans chucking bottles and punching police horses...

To be fair, the horses had been giving them some stick during the game - making gestures with their hooves and taunting them with songs about floor cleaner and so on.

Advice required...

I need to get down to SMS tomorrow (been told they're not selling tickets in the Marlands) to buy a number of Adult Ajax tickets of which a couple are for seniors (free). Does anyone know whether they'd let me have them or do the 'old gits' need to turn up themselves?

TIA.

Anyone know how many tickets sold so far for the Ajax game?

I got three about four hours ago, I enquired about buying tomorrow but was told they couldn't guarantee there would be any left. As I'm travelling down from north yorkshire I thought I'd better pay over the phone and pick them up tomorrow.

Can't say for sure but I buy tickets for my student friend online and they don't require any proof or student ID. I guess the idea is they'll check on the turnstile so I would imagine you're ok to get them yourself.

What mystery trialist? Link?

ta

Someone mentioned it in another thread but there's so many of them I couldnt remember which/find it mentioned. Could of course have been a hoax, but i'm hopeful that we'll have a few players on trial the next week or so.
