RonManager Posted 15 July, 2009 Share Posted 15 July, 2009 Given that the amount required is variable depending on the player(s) chosen, how about: 1. Contributions are variable, ranging from £1 to a maximum of, say, £50. For every £1 contributed, you get one entry into the draw for the seats at the end of season dinner and the signed shirt. 2. A deadline is set for contributions, after which we then ascertain which players are a) available, and b) affordable within the money received. A poll can then be run for a few days to choose the player(s) sponsored. Thoughts? Sounds horrifically like a plan - careful now!

krissyboy31 Posted 15 July, 2009 Share Posted 15 July, 2009 Surely the one player we would all happily sponsor is KD...loyalty etc....plus we know he will be here next season. Yes but I suspect Centerprise will be happy to continue with their sponsorship of KD and will get first shout.

The way I see it working is that one drawn winner gets the two tickets to the dinner (i.e. them + 1), and a second drawn winner gets the shirt. stevegrant Posted 15 July, 2009 Share Posted 15 July, 2009 But don't they present the shirt at the dinner? :smt102 You may have uncovered a fatal flaw in my cunning plan... What if we end up with more than £700? Then we potentially have the option to sponsor more than one player, I guess. Any surplus could be given to charity or perhaps buy some corporate tickets and include them in the draw. Last season's (I guess)....but I assume last season's sponsors get first refusal to renew for the coming season? Not sure TBH Pretty sure last season's sponsors get first refusal - I remember when SaintsList used to sponsor a player back in the day, they always used to get asked if they wanted to carry on with the same player. Johnny Bognor Posted 15 July, 2009 Share Posted 15 July, 2009 (edited) Out of sheer idle curiosity, how much does a corporate box cost for the season? cheers The box could be sold like timeshare. The SWF box is divided into slots (perhaps based on seats per game). We can work out a cost per seat per game and that is a unit price. Say the box is £20,000 and there are 10 seats across 23 games, the cost per unit would be £86.96. You could then buy any multiple of units at a cost of £86.96 each. For the purposes of balance, the box would have to be located between Leon & Lawries and the Ex Directory boxes. Can you imagine that? Well worth £86.96 a go IMO (with all food and drink included). Oh, and everyone should have to wear a name badge with their Forum name on it. Actually, just checked and it is £23,920 +VAT (based on £104 pp +VAT x 23 games) Edited 15 July, 2009 by Johnny Bognor Got my original sums wrong

Johnny Bognor Posted 15 July, 2009 Share Posted 15 July, 2009 (edited) would've preferred the original £43.48!! I doubt it will be £20k - more like £10k, so it may well end up being £43? I based the original amount on 46 games, but of course there are only 23 at home - sorry, my mistake. Here are the actual prices http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/MatchdayHospitality/0,,10280~1656557,00.html But the actual cost is £104 per person +VAT = £119.60 per seat per game (based on 10 people sharing across the season) There would be 230 seats to sell. Would 230 people stump up £120 each? Not sure myself, although I would be up for it. Edited 15 July, 2009 by Johnny Bognor

I know you get a ticket, 3 course meal, parking, programme, bar - but £120 per match seems a lot. Ticket - £25 meal - £25 Parking - £10 Programme - £3 Bar - £20 that comes to £83 - and that's over estimating, im sure??

Tony Lynam Posted 15 July, 2009 Share Posted 15 July, 2009 (edited) Hi John Your idea is one of common sense and loyalty. Perhaps you would like to confirm your willingness to participate in some form of a JV for a sponsorship deal and I'll put my money, again, where my mouth is and we can let bygones be bygones and mutually show our support for your Club? Good idea, and great to see some common sense approach, despite the fact that Mr Leibherr and his team may not be short of funds etc. Regards Tony Edited 16 July, 2009 by Tony Lynam
