Given that the amount required is variable depending on the player(s) chosen, how about:

1. Contributions are variable, ranging from £1 to a maximum of, say, £50. For every £1 contributed, you get one entry into the draw for the seats at the end of season dinner and the signed shirt.

2. A deadline is set for contributions, after which we then ascertain which players are a) available, and b) affordable within the money received. A poll can then be run for a few days to choose the player(s) sponsored.

Thoughts?

Sounds horrifically like a plan - careful now! ;)

Surely the one player we would all happily sponsor is KD...loyalty etc....plus we know he will be here next season.

Yes but I suspect Centerprise will be happy to continue with their sponsorship of KD and will get first shout.

Shall we have a poll to see who is interested?

Taking this idea to another level, and thinking out loud somewhat, SWF hospitality box anyone....?

No, I've no idea how it would work logistically either.....just one of my ill thought through ideas....

Ah, yes....a fine example of the logistical challenges that I alluded to... :smt044

Could we have two seperate draws one for the tickets and the other for the signed shirt? Just might give people a greater chance of winning something.

The way I see it working is that one drawn winner gets the two tickets to the dinner (i.e. them + 1), and a second drawn winner gets the shirt.

But don't they present the shirt at the dinner? :smt102

I'm guessing that the person who went to the dinner would collect it on their behalf. I'm not sure who would pay for P&P though, maybe allow say £710 to be collected to make up for this?

Is this for this season or based on last season's sponsorship.

Last season's (I guess)....but I assume last season's sponsors get first refusal to renew for the coming season? Not sure TBH

You may have uncovered a fatal flaw in my cunning plan...

What if we end up with more than £700?

Then we potentially have the option to sponsor more than one player, I guess. Any surplus could be given to charity or perhaps buy some corporate tickets and include them in the draw.

Pretty sure last season's sponsors get first refusal - I remember when SaintsList used to sponsor a player back in the day, they always used to get asked if they wanted to carry on with the same player.

Well, the "Luvvies" would have it one week, followed by the "noble boycotters" the next (if they actually turn up).

....or get one box each (at either end of the ground of course).

Out of sheer idle curiosity, how much does a corporate box cost for the season?

cheers

The box could be sold like timeshare. The SWF box is divided into slots (perhaps based on seats per game). We can work out a cost per seat per game and that is a unit price.

Say the box is £20,000 and there are 10 seats across 23 games, the cost per unit would be £86.96. You could then buy any multiple of units at a cost of £86.96 each.

For the purposes of balance, the box would have to be located between Leon & Lawries and the Ex Directory boxes. Can you imagine that? Well worth £86.96 a go IMO (with all food and drink included).

Oh, and everyone should have to wear a name badge with their Forum name on it.

Actually, just checked and it is £23,920 +VAT (based on £104 pp +VAT x 23 games)

would've preferred the original £43.48!!

would've preferred the original £43.48!! I doubt it will be £20k - more like £10k, so it may well end up being £43?

I based the original amount on 46 games, but of course there are only 23 at home - sorry, my mistake.

Here are the actual prices

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/MatchdayHospitality/0,,10280~1656557,00.html

But the actual cost is £104 per person +VAT = £119.60 per seat per game

(based on 10 people sharing across the season)

There would be 230 seats to sell. Would 230 people stump up £120 each?

Not sure myself, although I would be up for it.

Christ alive!! is it just me or is it fecking expensive for a corporate box. I know you get a ticket, 3 course meal, parking, programme, bar - but £120 per match seems a lot.

Ticket - £25

meal - £25

Parking - £10

Programme - £3

Bar - £20

that comes to £83 - and that's over estimating, im sure??

Does seem a tad steep. Here's what the OS says:

Executive Boxes are available to entertain groups of up to 10 guests, and boast panoramic views over the pitch.

They have 10 superior balcony seats, an indoor banqueting table and are ideal for hosting a business function or private celebration. With a choice of catering packages, complimentary drinks and your own dedicated waiter or waitress, this inclusive package is perfect for either an informal buffet or fine dining occasion.

Watch the game from your very own balcony seats or even from inside through the clear doors, this package promises the ultimate viewing experience.

Choose your catering package:

Classic includes a 2-course buffet served in the Executive Box

Premier includes a 4-course plated meal waiter served

Then your matchday package includes:

Private facility to entertain up to 10 guests

Superior balcony seats

Classic or Premier package

Dedicated waiter or waitress

Complimentary bar

Matchday programme and car parking

Classic package £1300 (+VAT) per box

Classic seasonal (23 games) from £104 (+VAT) per person per game

Premier package £1400 (+VAT) per box

Hi John

Your idea is one of common sense and loyalty. Perhaps you would like to confirm your willingness to participate in some form of a JV for a sponsorship deal and I'll put my money, again, where my mouth is and we can let bygones be bygones and mutually show our support for your Club?

Good idea, and great to see some common sense approach, despite the fact that Mr Leibherr and his team may not be short of funds etc.

Regards

Tony
