Flintoff retiring from Test cricket

Well he's been batting in the nets, so I still expect him to play some part in this series. I thought he looked in decent nick at Cardiff as well.

 

yes looked very comfortable. shame he is quitting though, very good bowler, guess he has had 1 injury too many

since 2005 i believe we have a better record without him playing than we do when he has. so statistically we're better off without him, but as per the smith/KP debate you can prove anything with statistics! i'd rather he played, but only a 100% fit Freddie, which sadly is a rare event in itself.

 

if he's remembered for nothing else it'll be the ashes in 2005. a top player at the top of his game. mind you, took him a while to get there! very ordinary to start....

Freddie has been excellent for many years, but I think he is making the right decision. It seems clear his body won't take the pounding it has done. Am pleased that it appears he is going to stick around in county cricket for a bit, though. Wish Vaughan had played for Yorkshire until the end of the season.
