Robsk II Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Occasional searing pain in big toe, was only whilst playing footie occasionally or tennis. Now can happen just treading awkwardly. Fades but initially f*cking hurts, any idea? Possible fracture or something?
Sev Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Is there any swelling or is the toe tender to the touch? From past experience if you'd fractured your toe then you'd know when it happened. Unless you were ****faced I suppose.
Robsk II Posted 15 July, 2009 Author Posted 15 July, 2009 OK, it's not swollen or externally tender - but I was wondering about stress fractures, or partial dislocations. It's genuinely excrutiating for a few seconds when I do certain things. My toes have always clicked and I think I might turn on them more than some people... Hard to say. First noticed it specifically a few weeks ago, playing tennis - serving, it's my 'launch' toe - but since then it's just got worse and happens more frequently. It's now a bit painful just.. generally. Not even walking.

I get the exact same thing, have done for years, it's like my big toe goes into spasm and points downwards and it hurts like hell but as you say, after a few seconds it is fine again - wierd.
TopGun Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 I had toe problems for years. Stanley knife and ice solved most issues and my three remaining toes more than make up for the missing ones.
thesaint sfc Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 I regularly pull the muscle that is under my foot when walking down stairs without and shoes on. It f*cking kills.
tpbury Posted 17 July, 2009 Posted 17 July, 2009 I think the doctor will prescribe lying down for the rest of your life.
GenevaSaint Posted 17 July, 2009 Posted 17 July, 2009 Or gout? Gout doesn't just come and go like that though, most attacks last several days.
Robsk II Posted 17 July, 2009 Author Posted 17 July, 2009 No lumps or outside tenderness at all. Certain it's not an ingrowing toenail as it definitely feels further back than that, and it's linked to certain movements. Seems a bit better today, but def. not right. Suppose I should see a doctor, but I think he'll say 'rest it'. Poo.
Robsk II Posted 22 April, 2010 Author Posted 22 April, 2010 Just got this sorted, hopefully. It was good to wait 9 months before speaking to a doctor.
Upwind Posted 22 April, 2010 Posted 22 April, 2010 Just got this sorted, hopefully. It was good to wait 9 months before speaking to a doctor. And the diagnosis/prognosis was? - I am similarly burdened and would be very interested to find out.
Thedelldays Posted 22 April, 2010 Posted 22 April, 2010 well..I for one am really glad this is now sorted
Robsk II Posted 22 April, 2010 Author Posted 22 April, 2010 Thanks. That means a lot coming from you.
OldNick Posted 22 April, 2010 Posted 22 April, 2010 Thanks. That means a lot coming from you. so what was it? I haven't been able to sleep with worry sincer you first mentioned it
Robsk II Posted 22 April, 2010 Author Posted 22 April, 2010 I have slightly high arches. Nothing crazy, but enough to have been putting a lot of excess pressure on my metatarsals. A short period of superfeet use will probably sort it out. If not, there may have been some nerve damage requiring an operation. How exciting! I'm OK to play at the end of May, anyway, which is the important thing.

Robsk II Posted 22 April, 2010 Author Posted 22 April, 2010 Yeah. Pes Cavus is the 'proper' name for it, but like I say, mine's not dramatic - but enough to have slowly caused some problems.
OldNick Posted 22 April, 2010 Posted 22 April, 2010 I'm OK to play at the end of May, anyway, which is the important thing. How will we recognise you, will you be wearing the wedges/ Hush Puppies...luckily I know Phil, as that would be confusing as that is his type of footwear
Robsk II Posted 22 April, 2010 Author Posted 22 April, 2010 No, I won't be wearing horn-rimmed glasses either. Apparently, I'm ginger, though, so that may help. Stu says I am. Ergo I must be.

Oh dear that doesn't help as you won't be alone in that in Phils team. Dont forget to take a note to tell Phil you are not allowed to do the cross country, and remember your shorts or Phil will have you in his boxers at the drop of a hat....oh even if you remember your shorts I have just been told
Robsk II Posted 22 April, 2010 Author Posted 22 April, 2010 I heard that too. I'm wearing my iron y-fronts for the game anyway. Don't trust Lee saint or Rabbit, frankly.

dubai_phil Posted 23 April, 2010 Posted 23 April, 2010 I thought only Premier league players had those I only have Premier League quality players IN my team. Nicky baby, so many mistakes. We live in a Desert. A desert is HOT. Hot means sweaty areas. The LAST thing anyone down here wears are Boxer shorts FFS Meanwhile, how co-incidental, my foot hurts as well and has done for 3 days. Saw the quack he said take two aspirin and if it hasn't gone by next week you're fooked, it's a trapped nerve and a bone spur and needs an operation. If it does go away then it's either Gout or Osteo-Arthritis. Great
The9 Posted 23 April, 2010 Posted 23 April, 2010 I had assumed that Robsk had solved this by shaving his hairy hobbit feet and spotting the bone poking through the surface.
