Micky Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Interesting that none of the ITK's have had any information to pass on regarding the new manager and then two reveal similar information on the same night. Could be interesting... please be true! Not really, if the last 3 months of watching this board has taught me anything, it is that the so called ITK'ers' are anything but.

What they mean here is that they will not rush Strachan and not rule out others. Strachan is aware of this but would like a little bit longer. This is why his odds have change a little over the last few days. Personally I would put my money on Strachan for the main reason that the club know that is what the fans want and know he is the man to keep us on an upward spiral from the last few weeks. We will see though, but this is where my money will stay... for now. Kev Sim
ChrisPY Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Adams T 6/4 Tisdale, P 11/4 Strachan, G 7/2 Coppell S 6/1 Ferguson D 6/1 Shearer, A 8/1 Boothroyd, A 10/1 The 7 favourites according to SkyBet would make up a great shortlist (minus Adams). Would be pleased with any 1 of the other 6 (less so Shearer/Boothroyd).
The Godfather Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 I would like to think the appointment will be the latest of the Hearts friendly because the lack of senior players is alarming as it stands. We wouldn't want to be starting the first few games still trying to blend the team together as he need to hit the ground running. Reading between the lines the new owners are willing to wait to get the right man but but also need to get done quickly as we only have three pre-season games left.

As you know, I was a Keegan man but if Strachan can use his clout to get the spending going, that would be ace too.
labibs Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 It is a worry though. The last two seasons have been thrown away on not having a decent season and getting off to a slow start (Burley was still claiming his team needed time to gel at bloody christmas in the play-off season!). Say we appoint someone for the QPR game. They only have a month to get players in before the deadline and it amy take a month to get a team together and playing well after that. How many matches have we got in the 1st 2 months of the season? 10? That's 30 points right there, plus the 10 points we are already deducted. We'll do well to get a solid season of consolidation out of a start like that, let alone the promotion push that some on here are predicting.
SuperMikey Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 If it's Strachan I will actually run up and down my street in a Borat style mankini!!
StInky Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 pigs flying? Perhaps. But a reference to the No. 1 when Thorpie was born. Thunderclap Newman. Brought back memories.

Ohio Saint Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Seems to be next week now http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4492410.New_Saints_board_calls_for_players_to_be_patient/ I took this part to be very encouraging.: A club spokesman said: “Footballing decisions are not going to be made until a new manager is in place. It will be his decision. “There will be no interference from board level so if a player wants to go before an appointment has been made he can go. “The board are determined that they will not do anything to inhibit a new manager, whoever that might be. “We don’t want players to leave per se but if they choose to do so the club will not stand in their way. looks like whoever the manager is going to be, the board are completely confident that the new owner is going to spend the necessary cash for better players. This looks like a Leave if you dare to risk your future" statemnet

hypochondriac Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Wicky is a 32 year old player. Ottmar Hitzfeld is the Swiss national team manager. It also does not fit with anything they have been saying. I think it was a joke...
Pilchards Posted 15 July, 2009 Author Posted 15 July, 2009 check out wise 33-1 down to 12-1 in less than one day. Perhaps Wgs changed his mind as feared while he was on holiday or they are both doubling up?
