Hmm. I think your sources were wrong...

Hilarious isn't it. Some of the posters on here need to keep a seriosuly low profile for a while...My three year old nephew has been closer to the truth than some of these people's "sources"...

this just doesn't add up - WGS was in M&S and played golf in the county he lives in - how can he possibly not be the new manager?

Odd lists. I really don't see WGS going from Celtic and Champion's League games to taking on Saints again. Why would he? Not like he's a Saints fan born and bred: he'll have bigger opportunities if he wants to manage again, I should think. As to KK, does anyone really think he still has the passion and desire and commitment the Saints job will need? I don't. I wouldn't want him as manager in our current circumstances.

Alan Pardew? I wouldn't want that overrated and disloyal so-and-so within a hundred miles of our club. But Curbishley? He'd be a fantastic choice, except that he's looking for a big Prem club to manage, not us.

And why Dennis Wise on the "no thanks" list? Does no-one recall the fantastic job he was doing with Leeds and their -15 point srtarting position, until he was lured away by Mike Ashley's moneybags? Had he stayed at Leeds (as I suspect he wishes he had) they'd almost certainly have won promotion in spite of their dire financial position and negative 15 starting position. He did a good job at Milwall too. I can't think of many managers I'd pick over Dennis Wise for our current position: knows the league, knows how to get it done at this level, hard-nosed little bastard, just what we need I'd have said!

Guess we found our first boycotter of the new era then?

I was going to start a thread for the "I won`t set foot in SMS while Pardew is there" brigade, but surprisingly, there don`t seem to be too many. The more I think about it, the happier I am. Heart = WGS, KK etc Head = AP is probably the right appointment.

Too many things are pointing towards him and that's me down the bookies for a £200 bet.

I didn't know I was taking rubbish any of the time to be honest. But yes, I did know those who would NOT be your manager for obvious reason

You have to know you're going to be getting a lot of stick on here for a long time surely? Much of what you said whether it was true or not, didnt happen. End of story really. That said i'm not bitter ;)

Errm, well there was the time you told us there was one single multi-millionaire purchaser behind you, and the time(s) you told us you were going ahead any day now, etc , would definitely be buying the club for certain regardless, etc.

Came pretty close to rubbish in my dictionary.

Anyone is entitled to an opinion, that is why we live in the free world and not in a communist state. But be assured, nothing I ever said (or will say) will be anything other than true. If people want to criticise our attempt at being open/honest/in touch, well so be it - all we wanted to do was keep fans as up to date as NDAs would permit. But as you say, its in the past - and Mr Leibherr and his team are getting on with the job, and the very best of luck to them, and of course to your new manager.

Tony

I know that you wanted it to work, and I know that you had the best of intentions all the way through.

All the best for the future.

Sometimes we forget that Pinnacle and MLT came in when no-one else was interested in SFC. They gave us hope when all was despair. Shame it dragged on, but it's all ended well for us. Thanks for trying and all the effort given to save our club, Tony and Matt.

Perhaps I should rephrase, 'when few were interested in SFC'.

Fair point. I certainly thought the complicated situation was deterring interest. Desperate times then. It seems so long ago already.

Hasn't ML stated that since first visiting in the Club in 08(?) he made his mind up that he wanted to get involved.

I understood that Liebherr was close to doing a deal when Pinnacle got exclusivity. Liebher is quoted as saying he was interested in May. "Pipped by a few hours" according to the Echo. In effect Pinnacle delayed the eventual takeover by about 4 or 5 weeks.

I don't think we'll ever forget that this is simply not true. Wally.

Just the tonic on a wet afternoon,I hope someone has got that training kit from WGS doorstep,it'll be ruined!

Posts that start with 'sometimes people forget' or 'we all forget that' really p*ss me off, it insults people's intelligence and shows ignorance on the part of the poster.

classic quote to end a classic thread. Up until this post I had regarded Tony's comments in the same light as Dan Williams postings on here, but this one takes it to another level.

the starting with the 'I cannot tell a lie!' quote, nice one George, the bizarre assertion that because everyone is entitled to their own opinion 'we live in a free world' right through to the reference to Saints as 'your' the final admittence that he's heart was never with this club.

Thank Zeus you never succeded Tony, regards and all the best and all that, but good riddance.
