why have we had it before? becasue it works and is popular

But personally i'm not happy paying £40 every season for a yellow shirt with a stripe in a slightly different place.

was in southampton today and they had the new kit on a manequin at the window of the shop in west quay. The design behind the badge looks really really good i must say. And as a whole the kit looks very smart. Iv completely changed my original opinion, i love it now

For a fan- base that spends days on end abusing the blue few, and has 'Yellows' as its away song of choice, this kit is just too ****ing blue.

Loved the inverted version photoshopped earlier though!

I got one of these somewhere, used to wear it to bed when a few years back haha.

Ha ha, bet it's got more light bits than blue!!!

I don't like the stripey bits in the new kit but other than that it's....well...ok

this kit screams relegation. who on earth signed off on this, they must resign. position untenable.

I believe that this was Mark Fry's attitude as well.

Not a fan of the new kit but will be buying that new black and red training top. Might have been more popular if that had been the away shirt.

Well, I like it and I'll be buying the whole thing. A bit strange that the pattern behind the badge isn't the same design as the actual badge (it is on the Sunderland home kit) and it does look like a Wimbledon shirt, and the Farmer has crapped out better designs in about 30 seconds, and yeah it'll also clash with Brighton, Colchester and Huddersfield, assuming we don't wear the kinda clashy home kit, but all in all, decent, one of the nicer and less plain Umbro efforts this season, and they've got my £70-ish...

And, no, that wasn't supposed to have any full stops!

I actually think the newcastle away one is easier on the eye!

If you want 'easy on the eye' then look no further than this pic that a friend sent me masked as our new Home kit.

Reactions were much the same with the white one and the flint one last year.

Given the number of whingers on here generally, hardly a shock, is it?

I think the current home kit is great, very little to complain about but to hear some...

I saw that on the online store earlier and thought the same. I don't get why we persist with such abstract designs on the shirts. Plain red and white stripes for the home kit (without mis-matched shoulder panels or sticky back plastic flybe logos) and a plain coloured away shirt with some simple trim.

Available to buy on pre-order on the online store, at the price of £40 for a short sleeved man's shirt. What is going on? Why are we charging £40 for an away shirt? One that will only be worn for one season?

Cause it's a higher quality Umbro shirt rather than the tat we had to endure during the (S) years...

The Black/Red away shirt was one of my faves don't get me wrong but it was an absolute sweat box, don't remember sweating that much at a match in any other shirt...

I hear you. You could have been wearing that shirt in Siberia and still have sweaty pits!

It is at least a more striking colour scheme than the flinty grey.
