VectisSaint Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 Have to say initial impression is absolutely feckin awful, worst kit I can remember for us. Looks rather cheap and tacky, and the blue is horrid. Maybe it will look better in the flesh.
SW11_Saint Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 Obviously in the minority, but I think it's okay. Minor issue anyway - it's who's wearing it that matters.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 also am only noticing now that someone has doodled around the badge. Gonna chaif the old nipples right up How high are your nipples?!!
SNOWY Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 What will we wear at Brighton and Colchester. Have we got a third kit? Maybe well get away with the home kit.
Saint_clark Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 I quite like it. Think it will look better without the yellow shorts. Wotton looks like Niko Bellic.
Mase Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 Not bad. Not one that would look nice with jeans though in my opinion! Luckily the shorts are yellow which completes the kit in my opinion.
Matthew Le God Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 What will we wear at Brighton and Colchester. Have we got a third kit? Maybe well get away with the home kit. Why would Brighton or Colchester be a problem?
Saint_clark Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 Why would Brighton or Colchester be a problem? Full of gheys who will complain about our lack of fashion sense? :smt102
LukeH Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 I don't mind it, like the badge idea of being enlarged around the chest. If we score goals and win the league in it people will love it.
Dannyboy_Saint Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 First thought is that it looks horrible but already after a few looks its starting to look okay. By the time season starts i'll have ended up buying it and really liking it
RedAndWhite91 Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 It has started to grow on me a bit, especially the bit around the badge. It could be better, but in my opinion it's not terribly awful.
krissyboy31 Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 I like it. As someone said - Boca Juniors. I like it too. I'd admit that I'm in the minority of fans who f**cking hate yellow shirts.
forever a red and white Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 why not just all yellow with minimal blue trimmings, a bit disapointed
St Marco Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 It's not too bad really will get one for those away games
SNOWY Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Why would Brighton or Colchester be a problem? I was thinking we had to change colours when we played teams in stripes. Mind you I had just got home from the pub!
sussexsaint Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 I liked the black one - shame it was made so S*it and all the bits fell off it
Polaroid Saint Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 I would of prefered the blue we had had before: Or completely inverted the design tbf *'scuse rough n ready editing* I like this. the thing i really like is where you haven't quite finished re-colouring Wootons shorts, so it looks like he is wearing a yellow cape. kits with capes! it's the future of football. actual new away kit gets better every time i see it. retro.mmm.nice
JustMike Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 i actually like that :-) especially the engraving bit
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 That is f*cking disgusting! Our worst ever away shirt! Who ever came up with the idea of it being Blue should be F*cking shot. Oh well. They'll be a fiver in the bargain bin in 9 months time.
saint1977 Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 I've seen worse but it's not a classic either. Is it just me, or does the shirt design look very different on James to Wotton? Wotton's shirt looks a lot worse because the yellow is just a horizontal bib whereas with James's it doesn't look as bad with the yellow pointing down as a diagional a bit more.
Clapham Saint Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 I like this. the thing i really like is where you haven't quite finished re-colouring Wootons shorts, so it looks like he is wearing a yellow cape. kits with capes! it's the future of football. actual new away kit gets better every time i see it. retro.mmm.nice Lol!
Scudamore Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 I've seen worse but it's not a classic either. Is it just me, or does the shirt design look very different on James to Wotton? Wotton's shirt looks a lot worse because the yellow is just a horizontal bib whereas with James's it doesn't look as bad with the yellow pointing down as a diagional a bit more. Some people make clothes look nice. Some people like Wotton make an Armani suit look like sh:t... They really should be more careful who they choose to model these things! What the deal with the engraved bit btw? They better not be trying to soften me up for having that QPResque swirly load of ******** as our badge next season...
Saint_clark Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 why not just all yellow with minimal blue trimmings, a bit disapointed Because we've had that plenty of times before, at least we are trying something different.
Scudamore Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Also paying forty pounds for a football shirt really does put me right off the whole idea of buying one however nice it is... Hopefully they'll have some nice training gear at normal prices...
Under Weststand Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 First glance it looks dreadful, but on closer inspection & a second glance have to say my initial impression was completely correct it looks f**King awful IMHO. I like the embossed design around the badge, would have been much better as an all Yellow Shirt. And the blue is far to dark Just slightly better than Newcastle's new away kit.
xerox Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 this is really really bad!!!! i could have done this while waiting the the traffic lights to turn green. this bears no resemblance to being a saints kit. umbrow design sh1t to be sold to tasteless scummy chavs! i think the embossed bit must be a hint at a new badge - why else could it be there, but i really hope not - if we have a new badge there is a very good one out there already - it's called the city crest. this is a big mistake by the new owners to allow this out, this will make no money and make us look like d'heads. if tony adams comes in after this, this will totally wipe out the feelgood factor before the season has started!!!!! very bad start ML!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saint_clark Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Xerox, calm down. Come back in a couple of hours and have another look, it won't seem as bad.
xerox Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Xerox, calm down. Come back in a couple of hours and have another look, it won't seem as bad. oh yes it will SC - it's awful!
forever a red and white Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Because we've had that plenty of times before, at least we are trying something different. why have we had it before? becasue it works and is popular
Thedelldays Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Because we've had that plenty of times before, at least we are trying something different. i agree just rehashing the same yellow shirt is a bit boring
Ponty Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Who ever came up with the idea of it being Blue should be F*cking shot. I don't understand this. We've had plenty of blue away kits even in recent memory. Rank Xerox/Draper/Dimplex/Sanderson/Friends Provident have all had their name on a blue kit.

Scummer Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 A particularly fine example: I loved that kit. Still got it in the loft, as well as the matching yellow one.

RedAndWhite91 Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 A particularly fine example: I got one of these somewhere, used to wear it to bed when a few years back haha.
sussexsaint Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 God that takes me back - I used to sleep in that shirt
Thedelldays Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 A particularly fine example: will never forget the wonder goal (it seemed like it back then) dowie scored at White Heart Lane in one of those shirts.. awesome
Fan The Flames Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 very bad start ML!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its hardly ML's fault is it, this new kit would have been in the pipeline for a while. Along with the Man U kit this band at the top is obviously the fashion this year for kits. It will be gone soon and forgotton if it is not liked. Personally I think it is ok, we have certainly had a lot worse. The test will be what it looks like when the boys are running around on the pitch.

PS i thought the man u kit reflected one of thier old kits??
red&white56 Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 could have been worse: http://www.worldsoccer.com/forums/showthreaded.php/Cat/0/Number/5040/page/0/vc/1 Dunno - I think I prefer the "pizza kit" to our new one !
