Saint Mikey Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 Interesting. Do we need another CB? I would have thought a recognised LB or RB would have been our targets...
anothersaintinsouthsea Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 Steven Gerrard's cousin apparently.
Master Bates Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 Is he related to Steven Gerrard? I was gonna ask that, it's because of the last name huh?
trousers Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 Is he related to Steven Gerrard? I've got a feeling it might be his cousin but not 100% sure.....:smt048
dubai_phil Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 Interesting. Do we need another CB? I would have thought a recognised LB or RB would have been our targets... Ah, so obviously you didn't watch the Blackpool game on Saturday then :-):-) Thomas will go on loan one way or the other, Cork soounds better suited to full back or DM roles, doesn't leave us a lot of cover as Lancashire hasn't played a full first team game yet and not sure we'd want Wotton, Perry or Cork as our only choice of CB's against a big hoofball team with a lump up front
NickG Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 Is he related to Steven Gerrard? distantly I think, or maybe cousins?

Barney Trubble Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 http://www.expressandstar.com/2008/09/02/walsall-rejected-saints-gerrard-bid/ Walsall boss Jimmy Mullen has revealed that the club did reject a deadline day bid for wantaway defender Anthony Gerrard - from Championship club Southampton. A number of Championship clubs were linked with the 22-year-old, including Coventry and Birmingham, but the Saints were the only ones in with a firm bid before the transfer window closed. Their offer did not met the Saddlers valuation for the player, who is under contract at the Banks’s Stadium until 2010, so the club stood firm - he is their player. Mullen said: “Anthony is our player. If he plays with same level of commitment and desire that he has shown throughout his time at Walsall Football Club, then he will continue to be a very valuable member of our squad. Walsall chairman Jeff Bonser added: “I stated all along that the player would not be sold unless we received a substantial offer.”
Andy_Porter Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 That's a shame with only Thomas, Svensson, Perry and Cork I think we could have done with another centre back. Never even heard of him before mind...
NickG Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 http://www.saddlers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/0' date=',10428~1382807,00.html[/quote'] Steven Gerrard's cousin -a centre back if you go on this site and then into his player profile -that is where I first got it!
Judge_B Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 Steven Gerrard's cousin Tony Pulis' son Ian Wright's son/Shaun Wright-Phillips brother... ...we'll be signing George Weah's cousin next! Hang on...

Legod Second Coming Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 Stevo Stev O Is he related to Earwig O of the joke fame?
KK the 2nd Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 Walsall or Warsaw? Probably Warsash with our finances! Still at least this continues to demonstrate intent to rebuild and dismantle the worst group of journeymen we have had as a team.
ottery st mary Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 I believe all the family Gerrards are related to that famous French Luvvie Gerrard Depardieu. No wonder we are getting so many of the French wannabes.
wightman35 Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 Was our "Improved" offer on deadline day more than 19s/6d. If so, this could have infringed our Bank's rules.:smt048
stknowle Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 The Saxophone player?? That was Kenny G. Stevie G sang late 80's dance 'classic' "Dirty Cash" which mentioned at length how 'Money Talks' which, as we all know to our cost, is true and is the reason we cannot afford to buy massive stars like Anthony G.
