Trader Posted 19 July, 2009 Posted 19 July, 2009 No, I don't think so and I mentioned 500+ which was certainly possible. But not possible apparently batting fourth instead of third. History is bunk. It shouldn't be possible for a 59 year old to finish 2nd in the Open. Hope for me yet!

Hope for me yet! Lol, we'll see. I agree scoring 290 would be more than possible but I prefer to be in our current position especially given that KP and Bopara are really out of touch and Cook is struggling as well despite his runs.
keithd Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 why am i still not bothered by this partnership? i really should be nervous, but i'm not. we'll get one of them sometime soon, prob in the first half hour, then we'll take the remaining wickets at regular intervals, i expect auz to fall short by about 80-90 runs. watch this space. ps my sky player is ****ing around. couldnt watch any of fridays play, the player was telling me i've changed computer for viewing already this month. erm, no, fixed pc, it dont change....so, got email thru on saturday night saying they've reset all my settings and i can therefore hopefully watch this morning (not the schofield version)

saints_is_the_south Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 My heart says England, my head says Aussies.
Saintjersey Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 All over by lunch I reckon. Get rid of Haddin or Clarke quickly, then a bit of resistence for the 7th wicket partnership before the tail collapses. Yes I am being optimistic.
chrisobee Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 My heart says England, my head says Aussies. Bookies say 2/5 England and 15/8 Australia.

Saintjersey Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 That is rare for a Saints fan Well we don't have any Hampshire bowlers so we will be fine
SO16_Saint Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Is anyone having problems with Sky player? It keeps buffering at the moment the ball is released / hits the bat. is it just my internet connection, or is it very popular today??
um pahars Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 And so has hauritz. Left one that came down the hill and cut back quite a bit from Flintoff. I was apprehensivce at the start of play, chilling out now:D:D
stevegrant Posted 20 July, 2009 Author Posted 20 July, 2009 Flintoff on a 5fer in his last Test at Lord's... who'd have thought it? I'll start relaxing when Johnson's gone.
Saintjersey Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Oh yes, all out before lunch after resistence for the 7th wicket partnership. Dammit I should have gone and bet all of this
um pahars Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Flintoff on a 5fer in his last Test at Lord's... who'd have thought it? I'll start relaxing when Johnson's gone. Swann just dropped him on a caught and bowled!!!!!!!!!!!!!

um pahars Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Freddie has his 5fer. Rudi calls a no ball, so with the 7th of the over Freddie clean bowls Siddell.

I'm going Thursday................................. to the Far East!!!!!!!!! Gutted I won't be there, particularly as it's against Suzzex.
Saintjersey Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 YES, last wicket to get now and Freddie has 5 wickets!
um pahars Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Johnson's got to 50 and is looking to unleash a few slogs. Could be a fun few minutes.
um pahars Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 All over. Swann gets Johnson who plays all round what looks like a straightish one. Yesssssssssssssssss
SuperMikey Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 There you have it, first time in 70 something years! Well deserved imo, i've only been watching the match this morning in full, highlights of the other days, and England have bowled really well today. I have to say though, I can only see Australia winning the series.
Saintjersey Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Excellent victory, puts us 1-0 up. However, I can really see the Aussies coming back into it.
alpine_saint Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Stick that in yer pipe and smoke it, Mr. Glen "its going to be 5-0" McGrath Fabulous cricket from Freddie.
um pahars Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Swann deserves some credit as well for his 4 wickets, including Clarke. Decent bowling in both innings for England which was the difference, with Anderson deserving the plaudits for his part in the first innings.
saints_is_the_south Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Great win, fully deserved too. Not over yet though.
Hatch Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Winning at Lords was the Aussies banker. Now lets set up dead flat pitches to last 5 days and get draws.
Torres Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 I see that we reached the decisive day of the Ashes yesterday. Australia have thrown it all away.
JustMike Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 stupid skyplayer messed up for the last wicket..never mind woo hoo
chrisobee Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 stupid skyplayer messed up for the last wicket..never mind woo hoo You'll have plenty of chance to see it again !!!
bungle Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 I see that we reached the decisive day of the Ashes yesterday. Australia have thrown it all away. +1.
bungle Posted 20 July, 2009 Posted 20 July, 2009 Winning at Lords was the Aussies banker. Now lets set up dead flat pitches to last 5 days and get draws. Or 15 days of rain.
