Johnny Shearer Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 I was out in the garden the other day and realised that a little area of it used to belong to the Dell - since I ripped out some of the turf there and took it home after the last game! Found the seat I was sat in as well in the shed! So was wondering whether anyone else still has their own little momentos from the ground that was The Dell?
Saint Keith Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 still got my seat. and mattys shirt. and i suspect the bit of turf i dug out is still on the lawn in bassett
Johnny Shearer Posted 2 September, 2008 Author Posted 2 September, 2008 I tried to get a corner flag but got confused once on the pitch as everyone was going crazy.
scott_saints Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 I have around 6 seats, turf (planted in garden of my old house so no longer have it) and half a Yorkie advertising board (wasn't too fun getting on the train!)
Scummer Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 I've got several seats, but have never though of anything useful to do with them.
Colinjb Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 I've got several seats, but have never though of anything useful to do with them. A nice Garden bench perhaps?
Durleyfos Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 I tried to get my seat in the Archers after the Brighton game (I was sat elsewhere), but some c*nt had broken the back and nicked the seat.
warsash saint Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 My turf was left planted in the garden of my old house.....which was bought by some skates. I never told them that everytime that they ventured into their garden that they would be treading on the hollowed grass:D

Junction 9 Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 I tried to get a corner flag but got confused once on the pitch as everyone was going crazy. It's still fairly easy to find the corners.
Johnny Shearer Posted 2 September, 2008 Author Posted 2 September, 2008 It's still fairly easy to find the corners. :smt048 I wanted one but then I saw people taking hoarding as well so couldnt make up my mind until it was too late. I wonder if people have set up taken toliet cisterns in their homes etc?

mynameisthehulk Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 If anyone recalls the last game of one season when Branflake was in charge where people where tearing up lumps of turf and throwing it up at Branfoot/the team? I took a lump home that day and put in the garden where it took. Still there now perhaps although my mum sold the place years ago. Maybe there is a Saints fan living there who doesnt know there is a little bit of The Dell in his (or her) back garden
Golden Balls Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 Got my seat, also bought one of the old wooden seats from the upper west in an auction. Really wanted the sign that said 'refreshments' in the lower West at the Archers end as I sat under it for 9 years, but some other bugger got it
Michelle Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 Seat base and back, and "Emergency Exit Only" sign that was on the gate to the pitch between Archers Blocks 3 & 4.
Um Bongo Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 'Stand Up, If you've got your seats...' I was sat in the Archers for the first time that day, and the blokes behind helped me take off about 5 seats. Durleyfos, i probably have yours.
Wiltshire Saint Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 I have the entire East Stand in my shed and Derek Statham in the attic
Ponty Posted 2 September, 2008 Posted 2 September, 2008 I have the entire East Stand in my shed and Derek Statham in the attic Unless you can provide pictorial evidence to this fact I don't believe you.
The Tango Man Posted 5 September, 2008 Posted 5 September, 2008 I have a seat back, and my last game at the Dell shirt signed by MLT.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 6 September, 2008 Posted 6 September, 2008 I have the entire East Stand in my shed and Derek Statham in the attic What do you do with him when you go out? Do you tell people that you have Derek Statham left back in the attic? Oh . .
Shrek Posted 6 September, 2008 Posted 6 September, 2008 I have a brick from the Archers Road End. It sits proudly on top of my electricity bill.
hamster Posted 6 September, 2008 Posted 6 September, 2008 I have a seat back, and my last game at the Dell shirt signed by MLT. I too have a 'last game at the dell' shirt (not signed). Are they worth anything nowadays, mine doesn't fit any more?
Jillyanne Posted 6 September, 2008 Posted 6 September, 2008 I too have a 'last game at the dell' shirt (not signed). Are they worth anything nowadays, mine doesn't fit any more? Me too and I doubt it is worth anything.
georgeg Posted 7 September, 2008 Posted 7 September, 2008 Remember the large red letters on the wall at the Milton end "Southampton Football Club" - I have one of the Ls of football - btw what a bl**dy job trying to prise it away from the wall!!! - some letters were metal - mine was wood (replacement?) not much I know but every time I see it the Dell memories come back!!
Wiltshire Saint Posted 7 September, 2008 Posted 7 September, 2008 Statham is out. Can everyone keep their eyes open for a loose left back please.
hamster Posted 8 September, 2008 Posted 8 September, 2008 Me too and I doubt it is worth anything. What size is (are) yours Jill, maybe we could swap?
