Block 5 Posted 12 July, 2009 Posted 12 July, 2009 I couldn't find any ticket info on the OS. CTFC website says it is a pay on the turnstile game for home fans but doesn't mention away fans. I'm assuming the same applies. http://www.ctfc.com/page/TicketNews/0,,10434~1292198,00.html Any one else going? I reckon our new manager may well be there.....

s0108787 Posted 12 July, 2009 Posted 12 July, 2009 i will be there, i'm certain that it will be pay on the turnstiles for away fans too.
Michelle Posted 12 July, 2009 Posted 12 July, 2009 It was pay on the gate last time. Gutted I can't go, blasted swine flu. Could've been worse I guess, could've missed the start of the league campaign!
St.Jeweller Posted 12 July, 2009 Posted 12 July, 2009 taking my son to his first game.....wow what a stadium! was woundering about the tickets aswell though
longmover Posted 13 July, 2009 Posted 13 July, 2009 im a cheltenham based saint and was at the abbey business stadium on sunday (formally whaddon road) spoke to few stewards and payment is on the gate and the saints fans will be in the interprint stand (closest to the carlsberg stand) pitch looked good yesterday, looking forward to seeing the swiss saints for the first time. any idea on how many saints are coming up?
bridge too far Posted 13 July, 2009 Posted 13 July, 2009 I was going to go with my boss (who's a Cheltenham fan). But I'm suing him for Constructive Dismissal (and I'm now out of work) so I don't think we'll be going together somehow.
WhiteleySaint Posted 13 July, 2009 Posted 13 July, 2009 Will be going, work up the road I work close to Chelt-nam myself, although down the road at Brizol. My Dad and I are going to be there, looking forward to it. COYR

I may come along just to watch Ruth and the fireworks with her boss after Saturday's performance its got to be the best option.
Bourno Posted 13 July, 2009 Posted 13 July, 2009 I managed to arrange a meeting in our Cheltenham office tomorrow (company pay the mileage). The Chairman of Cheltenham works for our company and I was hoping to persuade him to let me let me into the directors box, but unfortunately he is abroad on holiday.

I'd be surprised if there are more than a couple of hundred for a midweek pre-season friendly with CTFC. Unless of course, there is an announcement tomorrow!
1976_Child Posted 13 July, 2009 Posted 13 July, 2009 (edited) where is cheltenham ? edit: seriously? Edited 13 July, 2009 by 1976_Child

bungle Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 I am going. Hurrah. I will probably regret it after 25 minutes.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 I'm going with 3 other people, should be a laugh... if we win. It's just making me even more excited for the start of the season!!

Window Cleaner Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 Lots of nice young ladies from the college....... Who the average football fan wouldn't have a chance with in 50 light years.
krissyboy31 Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 Just a thought!! Anyone know whether we are playing in our new away kit tonight?
RedAndWhite91 Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 Just a thought!! Anyone know whether we are playing in our new away kit tonight? I shouldn't think so cos it hasn't been unveiled yet... But dunno, it'd be cool if we did.
Matthew Le God Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 where is cheltenham ? edit: seriously? Why don't you type Cheltenham into google and it will give you a map?

Bourno Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 I have just been for a stroll through Cheltenham town centre to soak up the pre-match atmosphere (and to get a sarnie from M&S). You would not know that the town is due to host the mighty Saints tonight (tounge firmly in cheek).

Bourno Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 Sorry, I have no idea. I have never been to their ground before. I am just up for the day on business (to coincide with the game). I will ask the locals in the office and try and post later.
saints_is_the_south Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 Ground guide here: http://www.footballgroundguide.com/cheltenham_town/ Cheltenham away would be a good cup draw me thinks, not far too go, nice little stadium too.
longmover Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 i cant see there being thousand going so you can park close to the ground, head for prestbury road (B4632), there are roads off there (ideally windsor street) with ample roadside parking thats 5 min walk to the ground

krissyboy31 Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 Make sure you park the Pittville end not the Whaddon end. It's a dump down there!!

Pokerchampion Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 Not good , can see how weak the squad is , 0-0 at half time and looking at the report its been all cheltenham for last 20 mins , we desperatly need a manager and 6 players of quality . Needs to be quick or -10 points will = relegation .

Thedelldays Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 Look at the team thats playing... half of it is academy players who do we have left..?
Pokerchampion Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 i agree , but we put better teams out v totton and eastleigh and look at the results , we need to build momentum for a winning mentality if we are going to get out of this league . Going through the motions is no good .
Katalinic Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 Boothroyd in the crowd apparently. Interesting....where has that come from?
EBS1980 Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 Boothroyd in the crowd apparently. Need a pic to be beleived i reckon, get your contact to take one on their phone and then it can get posted on here.
revolution saint Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 Interesting....where has that come from? Sorry lads, I made it up. To be honest I could have let it run and run but it's not really fair.
Katalinic Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 Sounds like we are under the cosh, but thank goodness that talented youngster Barry Hayles has gone off, we have a chance now........
NickG Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 like someone said the worse pre-season is the more ambitious the new owner may have to be in selecting manager and budgets!
Pokerchampion Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 must be a riverting game 0-0 , the only 0-0 friendly tonight . ZZZZZZzzzzzzz
Katalinic Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 From the text commentary it appears that Forecast is keeping us in it.
VectisSaint Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 Why does everyone assume we should beat Cheltenham. They gained more points in Division 3 last season than we have so far this. I know they were relegated, but guys you need to get used to the fact that this is our level now. Didn't we draw with them last season as well (2-2 maybe)? Would look it up on the OS, but buggered if I can find the Archive any more.
ottery st mary Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 Will be interesting to see how Murty and Thomas in particular went on... Dare I mention Pulis
