ExSt Peter Saint Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Just seen the team on the OS Southampton: Davis, James, Perry, Lancashire, Mills, Thomson, Gillett, Wotton, Boyle, Lallana, Rasiak. Subs: Bialkowski, Reeves, Doble, Saville, Pulis, McNish, Paterson http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1719772,00.html Interesting that Boyle's playing in midfield.
scott_saints Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Susan Boyle?? They also just had Murty on ssn but spoke more about Reading really. Can't play today due to not being insured or something.
matthieu Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 boyle is a winger, probably line up as follows: Davis James---Perry---Lancashire---Mills Thomson---Gillett---Wotton---Boyle Lallana Rasiak
Saint_Jonny Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Yea I saw the Murty bit on SSN, came across pretty well. Talked more about Sheding than Saints though. Where is Wayne thomas? Is he STILL injured!? We should tell him to **** off now really, been injured for waaaaay too long, and hes no killer.
matthieu Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Does anyone know where I can listen to commentary of this game on the internet?
jam Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Hm. No Stern or Saga. :-( Saga has said he doesn't want to play in League One and Stern is out of contract, so I assume is left out for the same reason as Murty (no BWP or Euell either). According to Wotte the other week, Stern was looking to earn a new contract. Yea I saw the Murty bit on SSN, came across pretty well. Talked more about Sheding than Saints though. Where is Wayne thomas? Is he STILL injured!? We should tell him to **** off now really, been injured for waaaaay too long, and hes no killer. From the OS: Wayne Thomas is ruled out with an infected blister There's got to be a joke in there somewhere...
dubai_phil Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Ah, the new world order exists, but just on one small and interesting legacy pops up this afternoon..... Remember the stick last season when we made our big signing? The story of who helped to get him across? lolage our despised and maligned (rightly so) former SFC Ltd Director was pretty much all over those press releases - oh what stick we gave.. Welcome Jack, good luck for the season ahead
CityRanger Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 I liked this bit: "Saints fans are out in force early at Bournemouth's Dean Court, with a Swiss flag draped over the entrance to the away section in honour of Southampton's new owner Markus Liebherr."
Paul Chuckle Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Have our fans turned up with wads of £50 notes to wave at the home fans?
DrZuess1979 the 2nd Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 random updates on solent 0-0 Bournemouth playing better
Saint_clark Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 I'm excited by how much Rasiak is involved. Surely we wouldn't be playing him so much if we were looking to sell?
Toadhall Saint Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 SSN just stated we have 1800 at B'th all singing we've got 2.5 billion - love it!!
RedAndWhite91 Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 SSN just stated we have 1800 at B'th all singing we've got 2.5 billion - love it!! And Bournemouth fans singing "We've got more points than you"...
spank_182 Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 1-1, sounds like another screw up from Lancashire. Seriously not good enough at the mo, hope he's not near the first team next season - out on loan please!
Saint_clark Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 1-1 Paterson is having a cracking pre-season. I thought he looked good in the few appearance he made last year.
S-Clarke Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 2-1 to Bournemouth. muck up by bart - sliced his kick straight to the on-rushing Bournemouth striker. nice one.
Saint_clark Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Bialkowski clears straight to a Bournemouth player and he shoots into an empty net, 2-1.
Colinjb Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 2-1 to Bournemouth. muck up by bart - sliced his kick straight to the on-rushing Bournemouth striker. nice one. The more things change the more they stay the same.
ottery st mary Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Settle down..It is only our reserve side.....We have a great 1st eleven. COYRs

Colinjb Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Cheers...Does Kaka know yet:rolleyes: His agent is currently enjoying a glass of Chablis in the exec boxes at Dean Court. FACT!
ottery st mary Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Thomas is going to be needed at the back..Hopefully only a pre season blister... We also need a leader in the middle....Good old pro to stir the side up from mid field.
Thedelldays Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 saints fans singing "there is only one gordon strachan"
sussexsaint Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 It's all a ruse to get the purse strings loosened
ottery st mary Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Anyone know where stern john is? Possibly Palace:)
SFC Chris Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Possibly Palace:) Did he go for the trial there or was that just paper-talk?
ottery st mary Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Did he go for the trial there or was that just paper-talk? Warnock said he was going to have a close look ie trial/friendly game...Not sure of result...As he is also looking at Webber.
Bensfcno1 Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Got back from the game about 20 minutes ago! One of if not the worst game ive ever seen between 2 'professional' clubs! Both teams were awful, Rasiak should be put down or at least sold, over paid, useless and un-fit! Positives, good following of at least 1,500 i would say as the away section was strecthed ( i would say at least 50% of att was away fans.) erm....... Davis played erm......strugling for other positives, other than all will hopefully be changed by this time next week, new manager (Hopefully WGS) and 4 or 5 new players at least!
beatlesaint Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Well I have just got back, living in Bournemouth, and i have to tell you...... oh dear, there is a serious amount of work to be done, an awful lot of players need to be bought in, and a new manager with a bit about him to get the best out of what we have. The only good points were - Mills at left back looked useful, Patterson when he came on looked busy...then I am struggling. The bad points were - Lancashire is still as slow as before, Rasiak didnt seem interested, Lallana was...umm....**** ****in poor, there i said it. Still its only a friendly, presumably a fitness thing and next saturday against Ajax we will begin to see the team take shape I hope. But we are gonna need 5 or 6 players I reckon.
saint_stevo Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Yea I saw the Murty bit on SSN, came across pretty well. Talked more about Sheding than Saints though. Where is Wayne thomas? Is he STILL injured!? We should tell him to **** off now really, been injured for waaaaay too long, and hes no killer. Oh the Irony
pele Posted 12 July, 2009 Posted 12 July, 2009 Having attended it was a great atmosphere but really showed how poor Saints have become in the last few years. I appreciate it is only a pre season friendly but I am afarid that we start with minus 10 points and really need to start in the league with all guns blazing when we do. Going through the positives - Kelvin confident, Mills good prsopect, Allana although reminded me of Fernandez in going round in circles can still be an influence, Patterson keen raw but took goal well. Unfortunately the negatives are somewhat more - Bart - is his confidence still shot to pieces dodgy punch outs and as for the goal what a joke, Lancashire - I like the lad but does not cut it, Rasiak - I have defended him in the past but just not interested, Wotton was awful at right back, and the rest were fairly anonymous (at least Jake Thomson tried....worried about Gillett not the terrier I love at the moment) Anyway to summarise last week was FANTASTIC but we have a bloody long way to go hopefully the start will be the appointment of a decent manager - WGS anyone????
bigtonesfc Posted 12 July, 2009 Posted 12 July, 2009 Rasiak was a complete ****,and the rest not much better!Good support from the Saints fans.Had a giggle when the stewards put netting over the "yoof" seats at half time because they wouldn`t sit down in first half.Crap support from Bournemouth,30 odd mushes singing behind their goal.
CB Saint Posted 12 July, 2009 Posted 12 July, 2009 Welcome to League 1 boys and girls. I have a nasty feeling that this could be the rule as opposed to the exception. Time to get the wallet out Markus.
Clapham Saint Posted 12 July, 2009 Posted 12 July, 2009 Hm. No Stern or Saga. :-( Sadly I doubt that they are going to wear a saints shirt again. :(
Junction 9 Posted 12 July, 2009 Posted 12 July, 2009 Dreadful game of football, the first 45 went painfully slowly. We need to improve and fast because on that showing another relegation scrap is on the cards.
