Stop using that PC.

Use another PC to download an "undelete" utility which you can run and hang the first hard drive off it as a slave.

If you don't have a second PC, you can install the undelete on the PC you're trying to recover from but there's a risk you will overwrite the files you want.

He could have been using it TODAY 10:11 AM.

This may be a good time to say to people - if in doub't, DON'T DELETE..!

At least until you've had a chance to check on what you're deleting, or copied the data to disk.

Restore the system to an earlier state? Not sure if that includes files though, pretty sure it doesnt so its a moo point, cows point of view. means nothing.

You've just answered your own query. System Restore takes the system files back to an earlier state. Any non-system files are not changed, deleted or otherwise.
