once_bitterne Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 No one has mentioned Bi Lawrie for gaffer??? Ballie not available for a 'dream team' again, so how about a Keggy/Big Lawrie partnership...I mean they have always been a mutual admiration society!! never realised before that he was bi....
SaintRobbie Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 errr... no thanks. He only ever wins FA Cups and I want more!
Ian the Red Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 He walked out on us once........................... never forgiven him for that; he thought he was bigger than the club. No we definately do not want him back in any capacity.

TijuanaTim Posted 10 July, 2009 Author Posted 10 July, 2009 You are a looney - watch out for earthquakes. Note the winky-vvanky thing mush, it's a joke - maybe you should get a sense of humour and leave out insulting fellow Saints mate!
TijuanaTim Posted 10 July, 2009 Author Posted 10 July, 2009 never realised before that he was bi.... Fair enough - typ0 or is it typo?
St Chalet Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Note the winky-vvanky thing mush, it's a joke - maybe you should get a sense of humour and leave out insulting fellow Saints mate! Agree with Tim. If we can't smile and get on with eachother this week of all weeks, we are doomed.
kpturner Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Note the winky-vvanky thing mush, it's a joke - maybe you should get a sense of humour and leave out insulting fellow Saints mate! Lol - if I really was intending to insult you I would not be using jocular phrases like "looney". Guess you're the one with a sense of humour failure ;-)
kpturner Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 would rather have Ali Dia as manager Careful, it was only a joke OP don't you know.
BridgnorthSaint Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 A completely new start please... Except WGS returning of course
david in sweden Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 errr... no thanks. He only ever wins FA Cups and I want more! Well of course, we did get back to Div.1 in his time, and had some great seasons in the early -mid 1980's - remember ? Nothing is forever but it was a great time...wasn't it ? I don't think he should be telling Board members how to run the club, but his footballing knowledge is vast and he still carries respect in some corners. Good thing to remember when we had the FIVE England captains in our side including the England keeper and beat Arsenal, Liverpool and Man U in the same season. Nice stuff eh ? Let's try remembering that the next time we watch the 1976 Cup Final DVD once again. Good football isn't only about winning cups. We still owe something to Lawrie for the great years and a respectful ambassadorial role would be justified IMHO.
david in sweden Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 He walked out on us once........................... never forgiven him for that; QUOTE] so too did Strachan and Hoddle ..and they are candidates for managers job !
NickG Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 He's in his 70's. Looking at ages of Cortesse and Oldknow and the talk of dynamic long term management team - I really can't see him being their sort of man.
Wopper Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 IMO Getting on the wrong side of Lawrie was one of Lowes biggest mistakes.
paulwantsapint Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Big Mac should be given Sir Teds role of Saints Club President & grandfather figure the big man is a great ambassador for this club
70's Mike Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Tim , i think now is the time to look forward, a bit like when Ted appointed Lawrie, i believe a new manager/coach should be a young guy learning his trade, given time, to build the club from the bottom upwards on the pitch. lets have a club build on solid foundations rather than quick fix sand jobs which we have had since 97
Frank's cousin Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 The hardest thing facing Cortese et al will be finding someone who appeals to EVERYONE - it cant be done of course, but I doubt they will be want someone with any baggage - new dawn, new era, new broom, whatever...
