Ian the Red Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 I have had a season at The Chapel since we moved to SMS but now its going to be the Family Enclosure where should I move to? The Northam or the corner of Itchen/Northam? Unlike many in the Chapel we make noise. Any suggetsions on where best to sit for atmosphere, noise
samski saint Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Northam for atmosphere! Itchen corner not open! Is that the only corner that's not open.
mel1961red Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Come join us in the Northern Stand plenty of atmosphere and singing every week
1976_Child Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Come join us in the Northern Stand plenty of atmosphere and singing every week Que? that'll be Northam that you mean....
1976_Child Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 We're the Northam, The Northam, The Northam over here...
Danny R Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 I had a season ticket in the Northam for 3 years in my youth. As a contrast to the Chapel it is great. However, after a while, the sheer amount of morons (when I say morons, I don't mean someone who is a bit thick, I mean people who are barely alive) did start to annoy the hell out of me. If you can block this out and enjoy the singing alone, then you will prefer it. If not, then I strongly recommend the Itchen.
NickG Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 moved from Northam to Itchen and much prefer it. Go to away games to stand all game and sing. Bit more civilised but ok atmosphere in itchen - and much better view

thefuriousb Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 How do you move seats if you are renewing (have actually renewed) online? Mine defaulted to my usual seat, and charged me the family enclosure price? Am I guessing I have to pay a personal visit to get this resolved now - though i now expect them to honour the price charged. Its their error after all.

shurlock Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 (edited) Depends which block in the itchen. Top of block 4 (Itchen North) gives as good as any part of the northam. Edited 10 July, 2009 by shurlock
RonManager Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 You do get the afternoon sun on your face in the Itchen (North) and Northam if that's at all relevant!
SaintRobbie Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 I think Itchen North is better as you dont have to strain your neck to sing at the away fans! You can look them in the eye and get some seriously good banter going.
samski saint Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Itchen north was pretty dull for the most of last season.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Just got my season ticket, Northam block 42, I can't wait for the start of the season now!
RonManager Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Does anyone know where there is a detailed ground plan of SMS showing all the blocks etc etc?

RonManager Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Muchos gracias compadre -I'm on the Block 4 side of Block 5, sitting in the afternoon sun!
J Bizzle Posted 11 July, 2009 Posted 11 July, 2009 Why is the Itchen closed? it was open at the end of last season and it hasn't been stated anywhere it will be closed this season.
Ian the Red Posted 11 July, 2009 Author Posted 11 July, 2009 Itchen Block 4... cant wait for the season to start!
