Quite a lonely plane ride for you though. Still you'd be able to have some of that wacky backy stuff Jay. :)

So you would rather have Tony Adams?

Obviously Wotte is gone and not coming back and I hope that we will have better opptions than TA but if its the choice between the 2 I seriously would prefer Wotte. Think we would win more albeit not many.

Well I suspect the option will not be there to be honest. But I would run with the decision of our new owners, thus far they have shown themselves to be pretty astute.

So, if they said Adams, reluctantly I would support them. Prefer almost anyone else on the list mind. But, no - not Wotte. But, its irrelevant. If they thought Wotte was any good they'd have kept him on for Bournemouth wouldnt they, or at least until they had a replacement!? Obviously thought he was really crap too. As I say, quite astute our new owners.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO Adams is a failure, and whats more a skate failure.

He is also an alcoholic, look what happened the last time we took someone from an AA meeting !!!

Please don't say it has even crossed your mind.

Agree with the defensive coach part however.

Unfortunately neither Sturrock or Burley had ever been to an AA meeting.

Oh yeah and NO to Adams.I doubt whether our esteemed owners have ever considered him. As Steve Grant says more of a case of Adams touting himself around.

I didnt ask what you think they will do. I dont think there will be a chance in hell that they will choose him over some of the names that will or could be available.

But if it was a choice of Wotte or Tony Adams you would still go for Adams? There both shiite but IMO Wotte is marginally better. I think Wotte would do better in league 1 than Adams would any day of the week.

IF he was to be given the job I would do my best to get behind him - the new owners deserve that much

but unfortuneatly he is absolutely ****ing ****e and it would be a serious step backwards

Next Southampton Manager Odds

The Bookies have stopped taking bets on this market as it seems like the deed has been done and the new Southampton manager is going to be Gordon Strachan. Gordon has recently parted with Celtic and this looks another tough assignment for the Scot but no better man. All of this comes in the wake of the new buyout of the club and it seems that things could be getting better for the southern club.

Sky Bet's Mike Triffitt said: "Strachan is the only candidate that customers have wanted to back since news broke of Wotte's sacking yesterday. "We took a steady stream of decent bets from the Southampton area at odds against last night and this morning we had several requests for four-figure bets at 8/13. We are close to suspending the market as, if the money is to be believed, Strachan will be making a return to St Mary's."

Unforetunately, the ones doing the betting aren't the ones doing the hiring. It's obvious who the majority of the fans want and they're the ones having a bet. I think the South Today short-list story is more credible.

Agreed... still we can hope. At the moment it feels like Christmas when your parents make you hold back some of your presents until after dinner and at least 6 sprouts.

Wonder what the odds are on it not being WGS then? If they are so sure its gona be him surely there is a good price on it not being him and that may be worth a shout?

I almost sounded like I knew what i was talking about then I think lmao.

We'd become a laughing stock again within months. He couldn't cut the mustard at Wycombe, or whomever else he has managed for that matter.

Also, is it only myself that think's Tony Adams and media interviews are a little bit embarrassing?

It just doesn't seem fluid or natural when he talks, it's so forced and contrived, as if he just selects the usual cliched managerial comments and stitches them together to create a sentence. Weird.

I am in the 'No' camp. I think I'd rather have Branfoot back.......

.......Ok, sorry, I got a bit carried away with the last sentence.
