trousers Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Anyone in the Hearts side that our management might be 'looking at' I wonder....?
Saintjersey Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Anyone in the Hearts side that our management might be 'looking at' I wonder....? Rudi Skacel.
Give it to Ron Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Same day as Hants v Sussex Final at Lords so a few missing from the usual crowd.
CWD Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Brilliant, been to watch Hearts a few times - great club and good fans. Being half scottish my uncle was keen to make sure I supported someone in the SPL (as long as it wasnt Rangers) Ooh good point GITR think i might have to give it a miss then...
saintrich Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Home friendlies are always rubbish. Slow paced game, no atmopshere. I'll be at Lords.
madsent Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Anti Niemi :-) What have you got against him ? He was a good keeper in his time
david in sweden Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Anyone in the Hearts side that our management might be 'looking at' I wonder....? I'm great on conspiracy theories...How about these ? Why didn't Hearts choose to go to Pompey, Brighton or Bristol instead.? Could it be we may have a well-known Scottish manager in place by then ? -or that the " manager of the Scottish national side" may want to see some players in action...and he knows the way to the ground without a GPS ? all will be revealed......later. (NO! , I haven't tapped anyone's phone .......)
Nadia Sllim Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Shame we could have not got Rangers, with WGS in charge that could have been a real warm up. Who remembers them coming down to the Dell for a Texaco Cup match in the 70's.
mirra Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Shame we could have not got Rangers, with WGS in charge that could have been a real warm up. Who remembers them coming down to the Dell for a Texaco Cup match in the 70's. Beware what you wish for. Ask Greater Manchester police ! Wonder what Rangers fans will do to Pompey ? Already a ruin...................
Mustapha Fag Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Wonder what Rangers fans will do to Pompey ? Already a ruin................... Improve the look of the place for sure
krissyboy31 Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Can't go!! At Lords for the FP Trophy final .......'aaaaaampshiiiiiiiiire!!!
Fowllyd Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Shame we could have not got Rangers, with WGS in charge that could have been a real warm up. Who remembers them coming down to the Dell for a Texaco Cup match in the 70's. I remember it well - it was the first match I ever went to! If memory serves we won 2-0, our second being a beautiful lob of his own keeper by Rangers' right back. Won't be there for Hearts though - I'll be at Lords... :)
krissyboy31 Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1718280,00.html
corsacar saint Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Going to Lords. Hopefully to see Hampshire beat one of their bogey teams.
oxfordshire_saint Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Anyone in the Hearts side that our management might be 'looking at' I wonder....? I'd happily see Andrew Driver sign for us
St.Patrik Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Yeah the OS said that Driver wants to move back to England - could be a reading between the lines there ?
Crab Lungs Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 WGS is a Hibs fan... maybe he intends to beat his boyhood enemies in his first game back in charge? Pahhhahahaha clutching at straws...
Third Division South Days Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Just read the OS. Seems strange that the last para mentions Driver and says he may be moving back to England. Perhaps there is a scotsman now at SMS starting to have an influence?
St.Patrik Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Its strange since OS never give away any rumours about signings like this ? Must be a player that will sign or a mistace by the guy who wrote the article ?
THERESE'S BOY Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Shame we could have not got Rangers, with WGS in charge that could have been a real warm up. Who remembers them coming down to the Dell for a Texaco Cup match in the 70's. Seared in my memory, 15 at the time. No team has ever, ever taken over Southampton like they did.
trousers Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Yeah the OS said that Driver wants to move back to England - could be a reading between the lines there ? Just don't read between the lines that mention Burley too....
trousers Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 I rather suspect Burnley might be a more tempting prospect for Driver.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/h/heart_of_midlothian/8135884.stm Burnley have offered Hearts about £1.5m - rising to a potential £2m - for 21-year-old winger Andrew Driver. The clubs began talks over the weekend, but Hearts are holding out for £4-5m based on him being a newly-capped England Under-21 international.
St.Patrik Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Just don't read between the lines that mention Burley too.... Youre spot on there mate - no more between lines reading from now on : )
Toadhall Saint Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Same day as Hants v Sussex Final at Lords so a few missing from the usual crowd. Bugger thats going to make the crowd less.
Footballfan Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 should not be playing on the same day Hants are at Lords

dubai_phil Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Same day as Hants v Sussex Final at Lords so a few missing from the usual crowd. Yep - I won't be there - just blagged a Corp Hostility package for the FP final so will be at Lords! Unless it rains of course
The Saturday Boy Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 If you aren't going to Lord's Tickets on sale now - http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/TicketNews/0,,10280~1722134,00.html
Saint Fan CaM Posted 14 July, 2009 Posted 14 July, 2009 If you aren't going to Lord's Tickets on sale now - http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/TicketNews/0,,10280~1722134,00.html Just bought two. A bit miffed though - I asked if I could have a free ticket to Hearts (as I recently bought my ST and I cannot make it to the Ajax game). They said the offer was for the Ajax game only, which is somewhat disappointing really.

Cobblers Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 Hello Folks I'm planning to come down for the game with a few mates. Any suggestions on good places for a few beers or places to avoid.
saintrich Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 Whetherspoons pubs are usually friendly/quite cheap. There are three in Southampton I think.. St Lucius (just outside outside of ocean village, not too far from the ground), Standing order (in town centre), Giddy Bridge (top end of town).
Cobblers Posted 18 July, 2009 Posted 18 July, 2009 Whetherspoons pubs are usually friendly/quite cheap. There are three in Southampton I think.. I know were Scottish but they don't have to be cheap you know. It's Hearts who are visiting not the Old Firm. I hope the Wetherspoon's more friendly than the one we went to in Hull. It was full of their local neds and police film crew. Thanks for the tips.
