kpturner Posted 10 July, 2009 Author Share Posted 10 July, 2009 Just received this prompt response: Thanks Kevin I just got this from another supporter too We’ll report this immediately to our software supplier as priority 1 I’ll keep you informed Thanks again for your email Cheers David David Luker Head of Supporter Services
OldNick Posted 10 July, 2009 Share Posted 10 July, 2009 It usually does that when it doesn't have any registration information for your customer number. When did you register for online ticketing? thios morning but I did try to use my old account and had trouble with that and so re registered. It is confusing when it asks for username when it means customer number. It may be obvious to software experts but dinlos not so easy

A good online system is supposed to be idiot proof, but I know from experience that is not always easy. However, a simple change of a field label cannot be rocket science.

kpturner Posted 10 July, 2009 Author Share Posted 10 July, 2009 From David Luker in response to problems with the online system: If it helps anyone, I just tried the phone line and got answered immediately. No queue. I dialed the 0800 number as normal We also (currently) have 11 windows open at St Marys. From Monday this will be 12 windows (this may reduce by a few from 12-2), maybe up to 15. Not as high-tech as online granted, but personal callers will be able to walk away with their season ticket and their Ajax ticket. We are open from 9.30am until 4pm tomorrow as well (as the normal Monday to Friday 9-5). I would highly recommend this for anyone who can get to us, and it will save waiting for the ticket(s) to arrive. In the modern-age, we shouldn’t (and don’t) expect supporters to have to make a personal visit – but with such a small time window available to all of us (buying and selling), this may be the best option. I fully appreciate that we should have a fully bullet-proof operational online system, and any issue is unacceptable. We will do our best to get this right today. I am relatively happy with the operation we have been able to mount in 24 hours, but I am very frustrated too (and I know not as frustrated as you) David David Luker Head of Supporter Services
Footballfan Posted 10 July, 2009 Share Posted 10 July, 2009 went to the ground in the end, only Saints could have 2 diffrent desks 1 for season tickets and 1 for the Ajax game
sotonist Posted 10 July, 2009 Share Posted 10 July, 2009 Anyone else tried to renew online this morning. I get to the last screen and click "Buy" and I get an alert box up saying "1 validation error(s) occurred. Admissions: Customer must have a value" but all the fields on the screen have been completed??! I work in the software industry so I know how easy it is to create bugs - but you would have thought they would have tested this before today  Same problem here. Also no option or info about parking renewal (correct me if I'm wrong) which is rather essential for me.

kpturner Posted 10 July, 2009 Author Share Posted 10 July, 2009 I gave up and did it over the phone (after several attempts to get through). Ajax tickets seem to be going like hot cakes - I couldn't even get my own seat and it is hardly in a prime location.

kpturner Posted 10 July, 2009 Author Share Posted 10 July, 2009 I have just heard back from David Luker and they must have fixed something because he has asked me to be a guinea-pig to try again. However, I have already renewed over the phone so I can't. Is there anyone else who had the same error as me (and who hasn't yet renewed) who can give it a try? I tried to get my own ST, renew my dad's ST as he's a 'Friend' and get Ajax tickets. Added my own ST no problem, couldn't add Dad's and it tried to charge me a tenner for my free Ajax ticket. Guided Missile Posted 11 July, 2009 Share Posted 11 July, 2009 I have emailed DL about it.Cheers, although I can't see him doing much about it. I'm currently on hold to the ticket office and have been for 15 minutes. F***ing useless and was the same last season.... Update, just renewed the old fashioned way, by a pleasant girl who informed me they weren't doing renewals online this season! She seemed surprised when I told her that they were, but I couldn't renew linked seats nor get the free Ajax tickets. Still, got them now and Saints should get a new IT person ASAP.... I work in internet Banking on the IT side.... if one of the major sources of income into the bank had gone tits up, causing customers a lot of inconvenience, we would all be getting kicked around the office.... then again, it would have been tested to death before it went live... Amateur hour... they've bought a package, obviously designed for a theatre or something (the phrase 'Book Your Performance' is a bit of a give away) and it's not flexible enough to cater for football. Wes Tender Posted 11 July, 2009 Share Posted 11 July, 2009 Just thought I'd go and renew my ST, (despite not knowing whether Tony Adams might be our manager) There is a queue of about 100 people there at the moment, so I thought sod it, I'll go on Monday instead. But it certainly looks as if ST sales will be good.
RonManager Posted 11 July, 2009 Share Posted 11 July, 2009 I have had a problem with internet booking in that the site will not recognise my name/number/password. It either says that the info belongs to someone else or that my email address is wrong or that I am not a valid user. This first happened back in February and I have just tried it again when booking my ST yesterday - same problems so did it by phone. Ideally I would like to wipe it clean and start again but do not know if that is allowed. At the moment it is useless to me.

OldNick Posted 11 July, 2009 Share Posted 11 July, 2009 i used the phonelines. Very friendly and helpful. Got my 2 s/t's and he said they were really busy. It should be seen as good if we have to wait, I waited about 5 minutes. It takes about 5-10 to process and so we should expect to wait. I mentioned the online thing and the operator said it seemed a lot had been having problems
