Rape and Pillage....

Guided Missile

Recommended Posts

You obviously weren't a creditor, eg a small local business owed money....nor do you have a clue what their responsibility was. Just to help...it wasn't to find a new, rich owner, for a selfish and clueless fan like you....

Did they not pay for their newspapers GM?

Don't think LC is too happy either :)

and I think Drew Surman would have been quite happy to still be a Saint next season.

Don't get me wrong I am delighted to have my club owned by what appears to be an absolute godsend and one who is exceedingly wealthy and doesn't smuggle guns but I still think initial aspects of the attempted Pinnacle purchase were not handled well.

Tbh I am surprised that the carpet at SMS has any room for any more dirt.

When Wilde came I was one of the first lemmings over the cliff celebrating the demise of Lowe. 2nd time around I prefer to spare a second looking over my shoulder.

I'll put you down as 'happy supporter' then !

That still leaves only GM whingeing on about BT being overpaid !

My point is that if the creditors and the purchaser actually agree to the deal (which they have) then who else should give a sh#t about what the administrators fee is ???

The Original Poster obviously has a chip on his shoulder... I have no idea why, but I'm sure people will make their own suppositions.

This thread should have been locked straight away as it amounts to nothing more than a sad smear-attempt based on not one single verified fact.

Benji, the problem is, is there one verified fact to blow the smear campaign out of water? I'm no expert but IMO if I was building a team for my first 11 of posters to ensure I knew what the ordinary fans don't normally get to know about until after the fact (if at all), then Guided Missile and Fitzhugh Fella would be the first names on my team sheet. In fact I find their comments over the past few weeks remarkable and interesting and a minor admission from FF that was somewhat surprising that in fact made it all the more worrying.

couple of questions.

1. Since the pinnacle group underwrote the Ajax game, would that portion of their funds be returned to them (ie back to LC if he was the one that paid?)

2. Is ML likely to make a magnanimous gesture to LC? For all that he may in fact have been an obstacle to their takeover, he did so with the best of intentions, and was (apparently)the one individual to put their hand deep in their pocket in our darkest hour.

I suggest a free box for 5 years would be a decent gesture.

No problem with Guided Missile per se, but this thread is over the top in my opinion.

19C, don't you think that all the 'smear campaigns' and 'minor admissions' etc. should now be consigned to history and we all get on with the business of actually providing football as an entertainment ??

Personally, I don't have a list of posters on a team sheet, I react to statements made on this website and try to deduce importance from irrelevance, no more, no less !

As I already said, why should we give a t0ss about what the administrator has (allegedly) been paid, the only parties concerned are 1) the purchaser and 2) the creditors.

With the greatest respect to Duncan, and a full appreciateion of the caution and 'over the shoulder looking' - twice burned and all that, I still dont understand why we need to 'discover the truth' etc. The fact is that the administrator is not required to take the 'highest bid' so the whinging from teh failed on that score is frankly sour grapes. As long as satisfactory agreement is reached with the creditors then thats what counts - its also about looking at the deal that is 'most likely' to conclude within a reasonable timeframe and those with the most realistic chance of signing on the line with the bottles all lined up.

Yes there is the argument that had the deal been concluded earlier we might not have been forced into selling a couple of players - and therefore its a genuine question to ask why Pinnacle were given the exclusivity period. The snswer though is probably quite simple - at teh time of being given that exclusivity period they were the FIRST to have fulfilled the conditions of the agreement. Now we know that during that 3 weeks, there situation changed. How and what we dont know and are all just speculating - did the backers withdraw, where their caveats incerted into the negotiations between TL and teh backers? who knows - it just changed to the point where Pinnacle were unable to complete a deal.... this happens in business, especially as one as complex as football clubs with many third parties that need satisfying.

I am jus not sure what benefit there is now in digging this all up when the it appears that we have a decent result.

When Wilde ousted Lowe first time around, my biggest fear at the time was not Lowe going, but the 'unknown' quantity that was Wilde...and CRouch, although to a lesser extent, he held teh balance of power... For that I was given the 'brand' - so do I still worry aboutthe unknown now as Duncan is (a little)? A bit yes, but because its a total clean sweep, there is no chance of the 'mess' that the various share factions arguing caused - we just need to have hope and faith that The strategy that Saint Markus introduces is right for the club and fans - and given his history of building businesses through sound management and strong ethics I think we can finally relax... forget teh past and embrace the future.

Therefore, its quite a pity that some people are hell-bent on continuing to dig up the past and scoring points in petty feuds.

I finally think we are on the way to getting the club we all want and all some people are interested in doing is carrying on the bad feeling.

Very true Alps, but we know GM likes to stir up the hornets nest and be controversial... This a forum afterall and now and again there is nothing wrong with a bit of a verbal virtual joust. BUt surely you must see the immense irony in the above comment given your other thread? ;-)

Nope, none at all.

I was making a very clear and valid point - that people are expecting Adams to be appointed due to the track record of managerial appointments made under Lowe, and some people have to change their thought culture where SFC is concerned now.

Made me smile that did... I cant decide whether you are at times deliberately 'controversial' to get a reaction, on a wind up, or your post genuinely reflect your opinions... all good stuff though as this forum would be very bland without a good mix of characters of all types - see I justcant get miserable anymore, the club has owners who are sound, we are saved and I genuinelyy believe we have a very positive future - will have managers that some ldont like, will lose games and have a moan, but in general we will get back to what we should as fans all be focussed on... long may it continue.
