Markus is really German. German beer = yummy. Mach schnell Markus, bitte. And one of those swinging lampshady things over a barbeque doing Bratwursts wouldn't go amis

That said a decent array of real ale would be a welcome complement

1664, San Miguel, Bud would do it for me. Pre poured would be great, plus it's to the clubs' advantage to maximise match day profits. It a relatively simple process to sort out - why don't they?

Love the idea of a Wetherspoons in the Concourse. I always drink in the King Alfred before the match but would rather have a pint in the ground, watching the footie on Sky - would be great!

Barely 48 hours from the brink of extinction and we are already back to worrying about trivial things like the type of beer in the concourse - LOL

We're taking a holistic approach to match day, besides we're so happy not to be on page 100 of takeover thread nn.

A different guest Hampshire brewery setting up a pitch in each concourse every home game would be superb. These breweries are easily geared up for this sort of thing as they're always at beer festivals, real ale trains, fetes etc.

Liebherr did say in his press statement that he wanted to re-engage the local community and what better way to do that than over a pint of local beer. Good for SFC, good for local industry. Win - win.

Absolutely. Another idea would be to have (say 4 pint) plastic jugs poured so that groups of friends could pour their own - save time that way.

PS Cornish Saint, you'll notice I suggested GFB instead of Summer Lightening... I know exactly what you mean!

Perhaps we need a fan's parliament to push these ideas through....

Blooming great idea Trousers. You could also have other local produce - food - that the club buy-in. Might help us repair some of the damage with local suppliers. Most real ales would be difficult to keep (but not impossible if the club employed a local landlord/lady from somewhere like the Guide Dog as a consultant) and you have to keep the pipes really clean as well. However, Hopback beers may work as the yeast is very sticky and will take a bit more mistreatment. You could have semi-decent keg beers like Marstons Smooth as a compromise and perhaps a continental lager might be an answer. I can see the latter going down a treat at the Millwall and Brentford games in hot weather.

The idea of "selling" the space to a chain like JDW is interesting though, it could be set up as a rental deal with the club getting an extra % with sales over a certain amount.

San Miguel is good and robust and Foxy - nice idea on the German beers. How would people feel about a wheat beer in the summer and perhaps in autumn/winter a dunkel?

A pint of 49er would go down a treat a half time I have to say.

Also stop selling half bottles of Magners at full bottle prices, it's ridiculous!

Most definitely, bloody rip-off that! If we have to have it not on tap, get the Strongbow back, or sell us the full pink bottles of Magners at the proper price.

Alternatively, as someone else suggested, something a bit less mass-produced on tap would go down a treat.

It's been four long years since we have last been able to debate this!

Trousers, your idea is superb... different local beers at each game (I can't happening, but wouldn't it be excellent!). I can taste that Ringwood already...

Now all we need is to get rid of the after goal music...

Completely agree. Carlsberg is rubbish. But then again after sinking three in the Standing Order, there in the Chapel Arms a further three in the Dell bar by the time I get into the concourse I usually don't care what the beer tastes like. But some good real ales would be fantastic. Won't happen though unless they have only one barrel on the counter - i.e. without any plumbing. That way there would be no wastage.

One thing I would like though is decent pasties. And not so hot either. Oh, and on mid-week games in winter it is just not on to run out of bovril.

Ah...! how nice to be able to winge about totally irrelevant things at our football club for a change! How relaxing to know that the club's future is safe and sound! I feel like a spring lamb, bouncing around the field with not a care in the world!
