CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 10 July, 2009 Share Posted 10 July, 2009 Statement from Mr Rupert Lowe MBE . I would like to take this opportunity to wish Southampton Football Club and Herr Liebherr all the best of British luck for the future and I stand ready to offer them the benefit of my considerable experience with any help or advice that they may require in the difficult tasks ahead . In response to the entirely unfair criticism I've received from a small but vocal minority of so called 'fans' on the Internet I'd like to point out that but for the completely successful and revolutionary new coaching set up I put in place last season SFC would not be the happy , wealthy and unified club it is this morning . I'm aware that in spite of my acknowledge brilliance and unmatched level of footballing wisdom not everything went completely smoothly during my all too brief stewardship of the club . Having had time to reflect on this I'm regrettably forced to conclude that everything that went wrong was a direct result of Leon Crouch's actions and no fault of mine . In conclusion I'm looking forward to receiving my new season ticket and supporting the team next season from the Northam Stand , where my many friends in the Southampton area can thank me personally for my outstanding contribution to SFC's success . COYR !! (ps - can I have the train painting back ?)
Wopper Posted 10 July, 2009 Share Posted 10 July, 2009 Lowe never gave even a penny as a donation to the club, but i bet he'll be back in the hospitality suite trying to suck up to our Billionaire. Dressed up in a Lederhosen costume

COYR !! (ps - can I have the train painting back ?) ..... " Fake "" ...... a small but glaringly obvious error ........ He always referred to us as " CUSTOMERS " Other than that ..... it would have fooled many, especially the heart rending last paragraph ....:smt039:rolleyes:

ulstersaint Posted 10 July, 2009 Share Posted 10 July, 2009 St Mary's (and this forum) should be declared a Lowe-free zone. Let us all exorcise our personal and collective memories of every recollection of this arrogant waste of space and move on. New (wealthy) owner, soon to be a new managerial regime, and new hope for the new season.

SaintRobbie Posted 10 July, 2009 Share Posted 10 July, 2009 Is the Duck Off Lowe banner going to be donated to a museum ????. That really must be IMHO. It is part of Saints folk law, would be a shame to lose it. HOWEVER... can we see it out once more at the Ajax game! please... oh the irony!! PLEASE! SaintRobbie Posted 10 July, 2009 Share Posted 10 July, 2009 We lasted 1 day before Lowe came up then :-( Come on Adrian... he's like the bloody IRA, never likely to really go away. Lets enjoy the final humiliation, afterall he's humiliated us for years... all the banter from skates in work, all the results, all the managers, all the media jokes about Saints... I think people should be allowed a little time to enjoy his demise as that's what yesterday represented. The end of plc and Lowe. The start of Southampton FC again. Fan The Flames Posted 10 July, 2009 Share Posted 10 July, 2009 You mean when we dreamed we got to the the cup final, Europe and our best finish in the premiership? There was football before the premiership, average top flight finish before Lowe 12th, after 13th. He was sh#t and the PLC structure failed to deliver. Onwards and upwards, but we should never forget what he nearly did to this football club.
