chrisobee Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Not on Skybet at the moment, its usually here- http://www.skybet.com/skybet?action=GoEvType&id=10002896 It is there, are you still asleep Stevo !! However, as I have mentioned at least THREE times now they close the book at 9pm and usually re-open it at 10am so it is a little early but from what I can see the odds are the same as yesterday.
chrisobee Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 don't they open at 10? Normally yes but as posted it's online now but can't see any moves from yesterday.
chrisobee Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 It is for me!! Adams 7/5 Tisdale 5/2 Stachan 5/1 Coppell 6/1 Ferguson 6/1 Shearer 8/1 It's Ok, Stevo lives in his own little dream world
chrisobee Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 What online bookies are taking bets. I can't find anywhere. Only Skybet.
saintbletch Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Just a rumour, but apparently Darren Fergusen has had a request to speak to us accepted after we enquired (with a decent sum of money) about his availability. Speaking to us today or tomorrow if the story is to be believed. Not sure on the reliability though as I haven't had any ITK Saints news off this person before. The fact he's just signed a 4 year contract would make me hesitate in believing this however the pay off we've initially offered (not accepted yet by Posh) is a considerable ammount which could be close to paying off that contract. Excellent! Giggs, Scholes and Neville on loan from his Dad then.
chrisobee Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 It is for me!! Adams 7/5 Tisdale 5/2 Stachan 5/1 Coppell 6/1 Ferguson 6/1 Shearer 8/1 This was yesterday: Adams T 7/5 Boothroyd, A 16/1 Tisdale, P 5/2 Pardew, A. 25/1 Strachan, G 5/1 Le Tissier, M 25/1 Coppell S 6/1 Keegan, K 33/1 Ferguson D 6/1 Wise, D 33/1 Shearer, A 8/1 Gross, C. 33/1 Dowie, I 16

However, as I have mentioned at least THREE times now they close the book at 9pm and usually re-open it at 10am so it is a little early but from what I can see the odds are the same as yesterday. at 9:32 there were no odds!
chrisobee Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Excellent! Giggs, Scholes and Neville on loan from his Dad then. I'd be happy with just Giggsy TBH !!
chrisobee Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 at 9:32 there were no odds! LOL Yes, I'm sure you are right ! You were actually too awake and quick off the mark so I apologise !!!
Hatch Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 at 9:32 there were no odds! I'm with Saint-stevo here. There was nothing there when I asked.
chrisobee Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 (edited) I'm with Saint-stevo here. There was nothing there when I asked. Indeed, it's normally 10am before they are posted. Now that's at least 4 times I've mentioned that Edited 15 July, 2009 by chrisobee
Beer Engine Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Is anyone other than SkyBet offering odds on our next manager?
Hatch Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 anyway, just stuck a couple of pence on both Strachan and Wise based on info on other thread.
chrisobee Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Is anyone other than SkyBet offering odds on our next manager? Post no 409 refers TBH
chrisobee Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 anyway, just stuck a couple of pence on both Strachan and Wise based on info on other thread. Could do worse though I doubt even Skybet really have a clue on this.
once_bitterne Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Someone seems to think it is Strachan.... http://www.clubfanzine.com/southampton/v2.forum.posts.php?id_t=120267#18
Dicko Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 As I've suggested before, Strachan loves giving the media his opinions Yet, we've heard nothing from the guy I'm convinced he would have openly detached himself from the job if he wasn't in the frame
Hatch Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Shame none of the prospective managers use this twitter thing.
gonzo Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 I don't think it will be Darren Ferguson. Why would he drop a division to a club starting on minus ten? I fully expect whoever ends up being our manager to currently be a free agent. Strachan, Coppell, Boothroyd or Cotterill would all be fantastic appointments IMHO.
Dicko Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Darren Ferguson - how far can he realistically take Peterborough Utd? He's probably asking himself the same question & 2 successive promotions into the CCC is almost certainly the limit At Saints, the possibilities for Premier League football are far greater
NickG Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Someone seems to think it is Strachan.... http://www.clubfanzine.com/southampton/v2.forum.posts.php?id_t=120267#18 love his logic for being trusted - he gave the takeover - which we all knew was happening - 48 hours before it happened - i.e. his guess for when it would complete was wrong!
hypochondriac Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 love his logic for being trusted - he gave the takeover - which we all knew was happening - 48 hours before it happened - i.e. his guess for when it would complete was wrong! Tbf I believe patred has been right in the past?
stinhk Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 I'm astonished that so many on here appear to be happy with the thought of having Dennis Wise as manager or DoF at our club.
WindsorSaint Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 On http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/southampton-specials/next-permanent-manager it's showing: Tony Adams 6/4 Paul Tisdale 11/4 Gordon Strachan 7/2 Steve Coppell 6/1 Darren Ferguson 6/1 Alan Shearer 8/1 Aidy Boothroyd 10/1 Ian Dowie 16/1 Matt Le Tissier 25/1 Alan Pardew 25/1 Kevin Keegan 33/1 Christian Gross 33/1 Dennis Wise 33/1 Graeme Souness 66/1 Glenn Hoddle 66/1 Kevin Bond 66/1 Harry Redknapp 80/1 Only seems to be SkyBet quoting prices though...

Ferguson would be more than acceptable to me, but am still holding a torch for Strachan. I imagine the attraction for DF might be money - i assume we'd offer much, much more than he's on at Posh.
chrisobee Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 On http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/southampton-specials/next-permanent-manager it's showing: Tony Adams 6/4 Paul Tisdale 11/4 Gordon Strachan 7/2 Steve Coppell 6/1 Darren Ferguson 6/1 Alan Shearer 8/1 Aidy Boothroyd 10/1 Ian Dowie 16/1 Matt Le Tissier 25/1 Alan Pardew 25/1 Kevin Keegan 33/1 Christian Gross 33/1 Dennis Wise 33/1 Graeme Souness 66/1 Glenn Hoddle 66/1 Kevin Bond 66/1 Harry Redknapp 80/1 Only seems to be SkyBet quoting prices though... Yes, it has been mentioned once or a hundred times only Skybet are offering prices Hmm, Strachan shortening again ! As I also keep saying Sky have no more of a clue than we do !
RonManager Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Hmm, Strachan shortening again ! No need for that
chrisobee Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 No need for that You mean because he'll then be very, very WGS !!
hypochondriac Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Yesss. Strachan favourite again and Adams dropping!
hypochondriac Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 how has Adams gone to 66/1 anyone know? He isn't that's what oddschecker says. Try this one: http://www.skybet.com/skybet?action=GoEvType&id=10002896
Matthew Le God Posted 15 July, 2009 Author Posted 15 July, 2009 how has Adams gone to 66/1 anyone know? It is Micky Adams at 66/1 Tony Adams is still 2nd favourite
saints_is_the_south Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Strachan at 5/4, thats pretty much nail on!
Weston Saint Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 On this one Tony Adams is not among the favourites. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/southampton-specials/next-permanent-manager
chrisobee Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Yesss. Strachan favourite again and Adams dropping! Lol, looking good again but what a stupid market this is !
chrisobee Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Strachan at 5/4, thats pretty much nail on! No, he was 1/5 last week !!
saints_is_the_south Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 No, he was 1/5 last week !! Hmmmm, oh well, atleast Adam isn't fav anymore!
chrisobee Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Hmmmm, oh well, atleast Adam isn't fav anymore! Indeed, he was 8/11 a few days ago !
hypochondriac Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 On this one Tony Adams is not among the favourites. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/southampton-specials/next-permanent-manager That one is incorrect. I believe it did that before and then corrected itself later.
SaintNeil90 Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Strachan at 5/4, thats pretty much nail on! Clearly dont understand odds!
hypochondriac Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 Having said that I prefer looking at oddschecker because that makes me calmer!
saints_is_the_south Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 How has Tony Adam's gone from being fav to 2nd least fav lol?
SaintNeil90 Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 I think the only reason Tony Adams went to favourite was because his agent was spreading sh*t to the media saying he was set to be manager of Southampton to get noticed just like he did with the Celtic job. And this made people put bets on.
saint_bert Posted 15 July, 2009 Posted 15 July, 2009 How has Tony Adam's gone from being fav to 2nd least fav lol? The bookies search Internet forums to check how their fabrecated names are doing;)
