Bookies odds on next Southampton manager

this is NO joke, I have just come back from the car auction, and on the way past SMS, i saw 2 large cherry picker type vehicles, not sure what they were doing, but anyway, the other person I saw walking with this other chap in a suit was none other than Bobby Robson. I was certain it was him!!!

He doesn't manage anymore, so sad tbh. Saw a recent article in one of the papers, he's unrecognizable these days, confined to a wheel chair now i believe -but he still came across as the bobby we all loved!

Newcastle's decline started when they sacked him.

Could they work together?

Keegan picked Wise for England in Euro 2000, if memory serves. Think I saw him play against the Germans in Charleroi and possibly also Romania.

I too think Wise is an extraordinarily good bet at 33-1. Oldknow wants somebody who knows League 1, Wise knows it very well through his experience at Leeds (not sure if Millwall were in this League or CCC when he was there).

When did we last defeat a league 1 or league 2 or lower league club?

The statistics show that we've lost 100% of our matches against third tier clubs in the last two seasons, which clearly means we will be relegated with our -10 points intact. Might as well appoint Tony Adams in that case, he'll get it done with a cherry on top.

Are you seriously telling me that Tony Adams is the favourite?

i dont think you would. careful that almost sounded like something positive about TA ;)

I think you will find that I would take TA over Bryan Robson.

If Robson's name had not been mentioned then I wouldn't be saying anything remotely positive about Adams

awful isn't it = people have very short memories if they want Adams in charge, do you not remember double agent Redknapp???????

I'd sooner have Wotte or Pootaloo than Adams - he will not be welcomed!

do they close the book on us at 9pm each day?

Yes, as I have posted at least twice already. Do please at least make it appear you are trying to keep up Stevo. Everything with you seems to be in slow mo like the 16/1 winner you posted AFTER the race ;)

Book re-opens at 10am !

The book is changing like the wind due to money being placed, not rumours of interviews etc

I suppose Sky are confident their sources will hear of events as quickly as anybody & will close the book accordingly before anyone can steam in

There is one name that I am suprised has not been mentioned in relation to the Saints job...

..and that's Joe Jordan! I know Skate haters won't like the idea, but consider the facts:

Harry Redknapp has been pretty rubbish as a manager in a number of jobs - especially with Saints, but also when he was West ham manager (he had one of the most talented young squads in the country with Beckham, Ferdinand, Carrick, Lampard, etc. and yet they were struggling against relegation until he left).

However, when he left us to go back to P*mpey, he suddenly became in the eyes of the media one of the greatest English managers around.

So, why? Was it due to Tony Adams? Many people thought that his influence must have been significant, until he was given the chance to show what he could do as a Premier League manager and flopped hopelessly.

That points to just one person - the brains behind Redknapp's more recent success has IMO been none other than Joe Jordan.

And of course, Joe played for Saints for a few seasons.

So, how about it? Joe Jordan for manager anyone?

Well it's reached the point I'm sure where Skybet cannot lose whoever is appointed, just a question of how much money they make. What was WGS at one point, 1/5 I think which rather proves your point in that shortening him to those odds was a good as closing the book at least on him but still allowing punters to back others. I doubt even at 1/5 they'd take any bet over 5k though I'm clearly guessing. Nobody else is even offering odds!

No one thought he was "pretty rubbish" at West Ham, he did very well, and Roeder's successful season afterwards was built on Arry's squad.

And David Beckham (WTF?) and Joe Jordan were nothing to do with him at West Ham.

If you want "pretty rubbish" why not look at Joe Jordan's managerial career?

Just a rumour, but apparently Darren Fergusen has had a request to speak to us accepted after we enquired (with a decent sum of money) about his availability. Speaking to us today or tomorrow if the story is to be believed. Not sure on the reliability though as I haven't had any ITK Saints news off this person before. The fact he's just signed a 4 year contract would make me hesitate in believing this however the pay off we've initially offered (not accepted yet by Posh) is a considerable ammount which could be close to paying off that contract.
