rocknrollman no2 Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Pity they didnt have much to say when Lowe was doing his best to ruin the club.
Stud mark of doom Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 "Of course it would be wrong to expect every Saints fan to return completely to the fold immediately..." Why not?
chrisobee Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Well I have no idea who they are but admire their optimism in having us on 0 points in their league 1 table !!
offix Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 NOW they speak. Way too late. They lost all credibility.
OldNick Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 surely with the clean sweep it should also be for the trust as well. It is also a busted flush. I see it used the UI to be the platform for its statement not a blanket distribution for all outlets. NI is fine as a figurehead although I dont feel he gives the best impression when he is interviewed on the tv.

We should move on and now look to celebrate our history through Excellence on the football pitch, not in old failed associations, would be politicians or egotistical local businessmen. Appoint an ex player with the role to build a new fans association from scratch, with a mandate to use new communications techniques, media and processes to provide a worthwhile, realistic and effective voice for the fans. Former occupants of boardrooms or nearly self appointed committees need not apply

alpine_saint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 I'd rather wish they hadnt....... The Saints "Trust" is a relic of the old era. Its nothing more than a drinking clique. Time to let it die.
SaintRobbie Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 http://www.clubfanzine.com/southampton/v2.showNews.php?id=25520 Fair statement.
SaintRobbie Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Pity they didnt have much to say when Lowe was doing his best to ruin the club. Harsh but fair.

And bearing in mind they have no shares and the leadership has been at times accused of being a little too close to the previous board, fair as well. UNLESS it can reinvent itself as a constructively critical organisation to counter MLs complete power ... if it's needed.
stthrobber Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 "Of course it would be wrong to expect every Saints fan to return completely to the fold immediately..." Why not? Because the club has to win a lot of fans back, success on the field is part of it of course, a well known team of coaches backed with some cash would help too. The previous regimes have destroyed communication links with the fans and driven many away, not just because of the personalities involved but because of a lack of information, inflated prices etc etc. The feelgood factor in itself is only a start, and when people can see tangible progress on and off the field, I think the lost fans will return. My colleague, a Swansea jack was asking me today about what size crowds he thought I would expect and I think that a good start sustained will see crowds of 20k+ As for the Trust, nice to see Nick stop short of empire building in the statement as most fans see the organisation as an irrelevance now
rocknrollman no2 Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Who are these people? Are they a cult? Did you spell that last word right MB?:-)
Marsdinho Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 They seem to think that someone wants to hear what they have to say. It may as well be Ipswich Ladies Knitting Club that have released a statement.
Gemmel Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Top article Would any Saints fan really disagree with any of that, regardless of who wrote or issued it
notnowcato Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Does anyone actually care what the Saints Trust say? Nice to see them tow the line but not sure what difference it makes.
