L1Minus10 Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Assuming Saga, Rasiak, Lallana, Schneiderlin all bugger off.... We have about 5 players who I'd want in the first team next year... these being Davis, James, Perry, Thomas and Gillett. IMO, Bart, Forecast, Mils, Thomson, Wotton, Holmes, McLaggon, Paterson and White will do for squad players. So I reckon.... Right Back cover.............. Murty perhaps Left Back................... not a clue Centre Back cover...... can't have Lancashire near the team Right wing..... Thomson not ready yet Left wing..... Holmes not good enough, I like Bailey from Charlton centre midfield x2.... 1 battler and 1 ball player striker x 2..... one of whom is a proven goalscorer Gonna be a busy summer....

Funny that, I actually thought that when fit Holmes looked really useful!
beatlesaint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Funny that, I actually thought that when fit Holmes looked really useful! He did early part of the season before he got injured. I agree that he and McLaggon will do well for us in this league......if they get a game of course
SuperMikey Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Funny that, I actually thought that when fit Holmes looked really useful! I thought Holmes looked pretty useful as well. Good crosser of the ball, but maybe lacks the pace to run at his defenders and beat the final man.
the scud Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Get coppell in as manager and sign Lita straight up Was it me or did these 2 have a bust up at Reading thats why he was sent out on loan to Norwich?
Crab Lungs Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Lee Holmes is class... shame he was blighted by injuries. He's 'got it' so to speak, and if he applies himself, can play alot, lot higher than L1.
JustMike Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 i rate holmes, was unlucky with injuries but he has pace and knows how to cross a ball, has a shot on him too
Block 5 Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 If you look at all the clubs in the CC and league 1 we are a very attractive prospect for players to come to. If ML picks the right kind of high profile manager, I think players will be queueing up to play at SMS. So don't assume Raz, Morgan etc will want to go now. We have some great talent as far as playmakers and flair players..... Personally I think Holmes is a good winger. Gobern is great. Paterson will score in league 1. McLaggon is a prospect. We need lumps and bruisers Perry doesn't cut it for me. A couple of mean centre backs a couple of defensive midfielders who can tackle and pass.... and we'll be sorted.
jasonbenali Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Would be very happy with Lita but I doubt his ego would let him come to League One. Would be good if we could keep one of Saga, Rasiak or John, but I imagine John is the most likely. A quick goal machine (Lita again) would be good. I think McLaggon will be the standout youngster based on last season. Keeper is sorted however
Eklund86 Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Remember lee holmes has only just turned 22, think he will really be one of our stand out players if he stays fit.
Bailey Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 If we are able to tie up some of our out-of-contract players to new deals, then potentially our squad next season doesn't need too many additions in my opinion. If we manage to have a squad including the following players, then I think we have a fantastic chance of being competitive in League One next season. Goalkeepers: Kelvin Davis Bartosz Bialkowski Michael Poke Right-back: Lloyd James Graeme Murty Left-back: Joseph Mills ??? Centre-back: Wayne Thomas Olly Lancashire Chris Perry ??? Right-midfield: Jake Thomson ??? Left-midfield: Lee Holmes ??? Centre-midfield: Simon Gillett Paul Wotton Morgan Schneiderlin Jason Euell Adam Lallana Forwards: Stern John Marek Saganowski Grezgorz Rasiak Bradley Wright-Phillips Reserves: Tommy Forecast Jamie White Matthew Paterson Anthony Pulis Kayne McLaggon Lee Molyneux
L1Minus10 Posted 9 July, 2009 Author Posted 9 July, 2009 This is a BWP free thread. He's ****ing useless and now Wotte has gone there is no earthly reason for him to be linked with SFC any more. Same goes for Euell even though he's not quite as useless.
alpine_saint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 I dont understand the desire to see the back of Rasiak, Saga and Stern. Between the three of them, they've scored shiitloads in recent seasons. They'd score for fun if they stayed. And we probably dont need the wage savings desperately anymore.
WATERSIDEIFASAINT Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Ricky Lambert,Danny Webber,David Connelly & Stern John as our forwards.Would score 100+ goals between them.Better options than BWP & Saga imho.Rasiak would be useful if motivated. Other options include Lee,Scowcroft and Bishop and less likely options of Sharpe,Beckford & Lita
