buctootim Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Doesnt want to sit in the director's box, will buy his own season ticket and expects staff to do the same. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/football_league/article6676033.ece
Legod Third Coming Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tony Adams? I'd rather have Morticia!!!! FFS.
Matthew Le God Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Micky Adams was appointed Port Vale manager on 4th June. Why does The Times think he'd be on the shortlist? Neither of the managers The Times suggest would particularly appeal to the fans. Gordon Strachan or Kevin Keegan would however.
Nexstar Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Can only see Tony coming here as part of the 'wider strategic plan', i.e academy director or a similar role
ladysaint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 I agree Tony Adams would be taking a step backwards hope they are two names they have conjured up.
daveygwyatt Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 dont you think he has earnt the right to appoint who ever he see's as the best option, who ever it will be . we should except who ever it is and get on with getting behind the team, after all its his money. his money saved this club and thanks to him we can now be optimistic about the future for the first time in a long while
Guided Missile Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Doesnt want to sit in the director's box, will buy his own season ticket and expects staff to do the same. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/football_league/article6676033.ece I expect him to sit in the Directors Box AND pay for a season ticket. A few home defeats and the resulting death threats from a couple of our fans will be enough reason to convince him of the need to surround himself with the prawn salad brigade.
OldNick Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 I hope he doesnt live to regret sitting in the stands if things dont go well, especially if gets to sit nextr to some from on here. Lol If he appoints either of the Adams then that will certainly deflate things

Mr Nice Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Yeah will love it if Judas Richards and Askham have to buy tickets !
shurlock Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 He's more than welcome in block 4!....Will have to stand, though and chip in defying the stewards.
Murdock Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Yeah will love it if Judas Richards and Askham have to buy tickets ! We all know that ain't gonna happen, after all that would mean putting some money into the club. Now that's something they're alergic to....
alpine_saint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 heheheheh That's the end of Askham's and Richards's gravy train then !!!
stevegrant Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 We all know that ain't gonna happen, after all that would mean putting some money into the club. Now that's something they're alergic to.... Little bit unfair on Richards as he wrote a substantial cheque to the club when we went into admin.
washsaint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 what, you mean link the corporate box they have Alpine and others? Guess what....I'm pretty sure they pay for it. How much have you paid into the club's coffers in recent years Alpine?
John B Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 That is correct but we all have our preferences Yes but it is not going to be a manager with League 1 expertiese it is going to be someone like Coppell or Curbishley who can get us to the Premiership I would have thought
Toadhall Saint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 I like the sound of this guy more and more. Mind you I'd question his decision if Tony Adams was allowed anywhere near this club.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Can only see Tony coming here as part of the 'wider strategic plan', i.e academy director or a similar role You hope!
Nineteen Canteen Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 I expect him to sit in the Directors Box AND pay for a season ticket. RedWillie Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 'Liebherr has stated that he intends to buy a season ticket at St Mary's - rather than take a free place in the director's box - and the Swiss expects senior staff at the club to make a similar committment and buy their own seats to watch the Coca-Cola League One club's home games. ' can I have his seat then....?
Murdock Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Little bit unfair on Richards as he wrote a substantial cheque to the club when we went into admin. But wouldn't a cheque of been more useful before we went into admin? However I do concede that he no doubt put money into the club and my comment should of been more directed to the other party perhaps?
Toadhall Saint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Imagine Lowe paying for a ticket. Not likely. Imagine he who shall not be named paying for anything - once a freeloader always a freeloader!
dronskisaint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Imagine he who shall not be named paying for anything - once a freeloader always a freeloader! Now wouldn't you just love to have him in front of you......?!
Mr Nice Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Little bit unfair on Richards as he wrote a substantial cheque to the club when we went into admin. Lets be honest it was peanuts and he has had free tickets for over 20 years.
Burnsie Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Tony Adams isn't far behind John Batchelor on my list of people who would drive me away from the club.
um pahars Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 I expect him to sit in the Directors Box AND pay for a season ticket. A few home defeats and the resulting death threats from a couple of our fans will be enough reason to convince him of the need to surround himself with the prawn salad brigade. I always thought it was the prawn sandwich brigade;)
OldNick Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 I do hope his will is rewritten and he makes sure the club is well provided forever.
beatlesaint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 I do hope his will is rewritten and he makes sure the club is well provided forever. My thats cheery !! Do you think watching some of our defending at corners will give him a heart attack then ?
mcjwills Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Imagine L*** paying for a ticket. Not likely. Will the nameless one who shall never be mentioned again be buying his Ex-directory box again is the $64000 question
OldNick Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 My thats cheery !! Do you think watching some of our defending at corners will give him a heart attack then ? you have to prepare and knowing our luck he will keel over just so fate has yet another laugh at our expense
Junction 9 Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Will he be sitting in the Northam? I want to see him get told to sit down. "Steward, you're fired"
itchen Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Sitting with the fans? Will he be swilling lager like Mike Ashley?
Alejam Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Sitting with the fans? Lets hope it turn out better than a certain...Mike Ashley.
CB Saint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Little bit unfair on Richards as he wrote a substantial cheque to the club when we went into admin. I worked for Mike Richards in the 90s. He is a decent bloke who does really care about Saints. I know for a fact that he worked as an unpaid director of Saints for many years when Askham was Chairman (don't know what the situation was post Askham). I remember the "bloke in the red scarf" piece that he published a year or so back and whilst there was a lot of crys of PR spin, I thought it summed up Mike very well - a Saints fan first and foremost
alpine_saint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 (edited) what, you mean link the corporate box they have Alpine and others? Guess what....I'm pretty sure they pay for it. How much have you paid into the club's coffers in recent years Alpine? Erm, I was talkiing about their all-expenses paid beanos in the Directors Box, which they were still scrounging under Fry. I might not have put as much into the club as Askham (debateable), but I havent milked the club either, for that matter. Tell me, what does it feel like to be the last Lowe Luvvie ????????? Only such a person would try to defend Askham. Edited 9 July, 2009 by alpine_saint

saintalan Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 I always thought the Directors Box was in the stands! Perhaps he is just planning to pay for his seat there.
Fowllyd Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tony Adams? I'd rather have Morticia!!!! FFS. Fear not, Tony Adams was also mentioned as a possible for the Celtic job! Yes, as if. It seems that the old-fashioned journalistic trait of connecting anybody who's come within the limited scope of their radar (for which read those who've managed or played in the Premier League) with any managerial vacancy is still going strong. As to whether Askham, Richards or any other former directors will lose their seats in the directors' box - of course they will. It's a new company now. They own no part in it, they have no say in it - and they'll get no perks from it either. And a bloody good thing too.
Block 5 Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 I've heard that Tony Adams is set to return to the club as our new mascot; "Pinty the p1ss head". Small children will be encouraged to beat him with sticks as a lesson about the dangers of alcohol.

John Boy Saint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Can't see a ticket price on the Season Ticket piece on the OS for the spare seats that will now be available in the Directors box if every man jack of the staff is buying their own season tickets. Hey what a wheeze that would be buy a standard season ticket and get put into a weekly draw for a comfy seat in the Directors box with all the trimmings, and you can still wear your replica shirt.
paulwantsapint Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Can ML ask to apply a strange German trait of safe standing at SMS? I like the idea that all senior staff will be asked to pay for tickets
offix Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Now wouldn't you just love to have him in front of you......?! I don't think that you'll see him at a Saints game ever again.
Saint Paul C Posted 10 July, 2009 Posted 10 July, 2009 Yeah will love it if Judas Richards and Askham have to buy tickets ! Can't see what Askham and Richards will have ANY involvement in the club. We have a new owner, new holding company, new directors etc. Their time has passed - and thank **** for that.
