Smirking_Saint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 As i said in the Wotte sacked thread, they must have done it noing a few names and with a candidate list ready. May even have someone ready to come in now. Hmm, new managers always get appointed on fridays Who could it be ?
Bailey Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Get Le Tiss on board with the Swiss and get him to have a word with Keegan again. Would certainly go some way to filling St. Mary's!
Ludwig Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Keegan Tisdale Strachan Widdrington Boothroyd Any of the above.
Smirking_Saint Posted 9 July, 2009 Author Posted 9 July, 2009 They may have had a word already ?? All has gone quiet on the WGS and coppell stakes too ?? Maybe they are looking to come back ?? Especially without Lowe, hopefully WGS can get us back on track

sussexsaint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Wgs would be a dream but I simply can't see him in league1
CB Fry Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 For some reason I am thinking it is Iain Dowie. That's who I think Le Tiss had lined up (I don't think Keegan was ever a goer, mainly because of his compensation claim). Dowie would rather be manager in L1 (at a club on the up up UP) than a CCC assistant, surely?
Smirking_Saint Posted 9 July, 2009 Author Posted 9 July, 2009 Why not ?? He likes it here, he can begin the new era of saints, i believe he still owns a property down here ?? Family club ? Money ? Legendary status ?? Moving on up ??
SKATE_HATE Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Keegan Tisdale Strachan Widdrington Boothroyd Any of the above. Why the **** would we want widdrington or tisdale now? We're ****ing minted and don't plan on hanging around. We need a big name to attract big players.

We need a big name to attract big players. TBF I would take Tisdale, he has a hunger and has done very well so far, with the right backing and perhaps an experienced head next to him (lawrie mac ??) think he could have a very successful tenure at saints.
S-Clarke Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Keegan Tisdale Strachan Widdrington Boothroyd Any of the above. Seeing as you saw a fair bit more of watford than us - what is your opinion on boothroyd? He's a bit more than ''hoofball'' imo. He's a good shout.
Matthew Le God Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Michael Svensson I'd get a Pompey badge tattooed on my forehead if he is our next manager.
SimonRichards Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Get Le Tiss on board with the Swiss and get him to have a word with Keegan again. Would certainly go some way to filling St. Mary's! Maybe this is what Oldknow wants to talk to MLT about!
John B Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Why the **** would we want widdrington or tisdale now? We're ****ing minted and don't plan on hanging around. We need a big name to attract big players. Exactly we can now look to the future in a real good light even better than yesterday
martel Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Get Le Tiss on board with the Swiss and get him to have a word with Keegan again. Would certainly go some way to filling St. Mary's! I have to second that, Keegan has jumped ship a couple of times, but his record of getting clubs promoted is very good; the moral boost would be massive, and Bailey is right when he said that it would stick bums on seats.
Smirking_Saint Posted 9 July, 2009 Author Posted 9 July, 2009 (edited) Poll please Mods ??? Tisdale Widrington WGS Souness Coppell Boothroyd Reid Wigley Keegan Hoodle Dowie Shearer Le Tiss Redknapp Burley Curbishley George Graham And the rest Sven ?? Edited 9 July, 2009 by Smirking_Saint
thegaffer Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Ericsson ............ or WGS .......... I heard the wee one wanted a year out.
surrey1saint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Can't see Keegan coming to a L1 side,money or not.
Smirking_Saint Posted 9 July, 2009 Author Posted 9 July, 2009 Can't see Keegan coming to a L1 side, money or not. He has done it before.... and money is pretty much the only reason he joins clubs
beatlesaint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Why the **** would we want widdrington or tisdale now? We're ****ing minted and don't plan on hanging around. We need a big name to attract big players. Not so sure that Tisdale wouldnt be okish, but where the hell does this obsession some people have with Tommy Widdrington come from and on what basis FFS ?
thegaffer Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Why the **** would we want widdrington or tisdale now? We're ****ing minted and don't plan on hanging around. We need a big name to attract big players. Totally agree!
SKATE_HATE Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Poll please Mods ??? Tisdale Widrington WGS Souness Coppell Boothroyd Reid Wigley Keegan Hoodle And the rest Sven ?? Mods please leave off Widdrington, Tisdale and Reid!
Ludwig Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Seeing as you saw a fair bit more of watford than us - what is your opinion on boothroyd? He's a bit more than ''hoofball'' imo. He's a good shout. I like him. He tried to implement a passing game at the beginning of this season, but during the transition results wavered and was sacked. He'd lost the dressing room as he'd become somewhat egotistical without Keith Burkinshaw at his side. However, I reckon him with an experienced DOF in the mould of Burkinshaw, with Aidy having learned some vital lessons, could be very effective for us. Hoofball at Watford was simply playing effectively with a lump and a quality striker, with a very very good winger. He's not simply a hoofball merchant and I think would be a decent shout for boss. Not first choice, Widdrington would be that, but if we can't get Tommy, Strachan or Keegan, he'd be very good.
sussexsaint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Michael Svensson In the days of Lowe this would so have been the right answer
London Saint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Steve Coppell would be my first choice. Probably still lives locally too so easy move for him (well Reading is local enough, right?)
VectisSaint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Cotterill for me, as I have said many many times before. Like Tisdale, but he is not what we need right now (wrong type of manager) and can't see why he would leave Exeter for us anyway. Would be happy with KK or Shearer, just don't think it will happen. Would also be happy with Dowie or Coppell. Still rather shocked that MW has gone, seemed like he was staying, also not on the OS yet.
Edmonton Saint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Hoddle, Just so Dalek can finally lay his ghosts to rest..
CB Fry Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 but where the hell does this obsession some people have with Tommy Widdrington come from and on what basis FFS ? Because it is an hilarious internet joke. It was funny to begin with, now it is just maintained by about five posters on here. No one wants actually Widdrington to be Saints manager. Not even his mum.

Matthew Le God Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Can't see Keegan coming to a L1 side, money or not. He went to Fulham when they were in the same league.
em00jie Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Given that according to today's echo ML is now a walking talking encyclopedia Saints, who whould bet against him wanting the most successful Saints manager of recent times to return...Mr Gordon Strachan!
thegaffer Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 This just shows that ML and his people have come here ready to hit the ground running. Impressed? You should be!
Nineteen Canteen Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Maybe this is what Oldknow wants to talk to MLT about! IMO that will be no different than Lowe talking to McMenemy. Wotte for manager our owner has made up his mind.
SKATE_HATE Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 TBF I would take Tisdale, he has a hunger and has done very well so far, with the right backing and perhaps an experienced head next to him (lawrie mac ??) think he could have a very successful tenure at saints. Premiership football with Tisdale really? We will be moving too quick for managers like Tisdale or Widdrington.
SKATE_HATE Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 IMO that will be no different than Lowe talking to McMenemy. Wotte for manager our owner has made up his mind. Are you mental? He has been sacked!
RedArmy Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 I would jizz everywhere if we got Strach back. Forget spending much on transfers. He'll get the team stupidly fit and disciplined, and must be able to get some good loanees in? Completely unrealistic, but it's nice to dream, especially when I've been waiting 5 years for him to come back.
