oldsarum Posted 22 July, 2009 Share Posted 22 July, 2009 Ed Asafa-Adjaye Luton defender, is quality. He was a star for them in the Johnson paint final. Can play full back or in the middle. He played against Steve Fletcher against Bournemouth as centre half and blotted him out of the game so much they had to take Fletcher off.Now in this league we will need players who can cope against big men.He is not of massive build but reminds me of Paul parker, quick , athletic and a spring in his jump, add to that he is comfortable on the ball.i do know he turned down a PL side as he wanted first team football at this stage in his career. If any club scouts do ever read this he may well be worht a look. Think this lad played on loan at Salisbury the season before last. Although he wasn't very tall had a good leap (as per Chris Baird), very quick an general very impressive for the Whites whenever I saw him play. jam Posted 22 July, 2009 Share Posted 22 July, 2009 Davis Hoefkins Jardhi Pele Mills Chris Shuker Gillett Steven Dawson Chris Taylor Webber John Bart Neal Eardley, Simon King, Danny Livesey, Harding, Gobern, Tommy Doherty, Schneiderlin, Holmes Patterson, Steve Kabba I'm talking expensive, but credible signings, followed by promotion. Simple. If we signed Pele again I think he'd suit Pardew in midfield; judging by what Pilchards was reporting on the training thread. He has two Green jersey floaters as he calls them that have the freedom of the pitch like gerrard and Lamps for England. The floaters are the high energy runners that are mainly in the centre pitch. Just replaced Gillet with god knows who but Lloyd James it seems is doing it well. Of course, if we did re-sign Pele, I'd imagine that Once Bitterne might explode... Over land and sea Posted 23 July, 2009 Share Posted 23 July, 2009 (edited) Check the original post. I have been updating it religiously and my version has colours. I've gone for the less colourful but more complete approach! There are several (admittedly generally fringe) players missing from the OP. For example, in the 2008/09 Squad: 30 Jack Boyle 32 Andrej Pernecky 34 Jamie White 36 Michael Byrne 38 Jack Saville 44 Ben Reeves 45 Callum McNish Most of the new academy payers for 09-10 are not shown In the confirmed outs, the following are missing: Michael Byrne Kyle Davies 2009/10 Squad So Far - the following are not listed 30 Jack Boyle 31 Ryan Doble 32 Andrej Pernecky 33 Jack Saville Edited 23 July, 2009 by Over land and sea

MerceSaint28 Posted 24 July, 2009 Share Posted 24 July, 2009 Sorry but you are ridicoulously negative Big Chrisy. We are the wealthiest club in League one, the players mentioned are free agents and will be drawn to the size of the club and its long term ambition. Also look at Notts County, already after Billy Sharp. Get some balls !!! Pitman.... yeah if we were poor. Lester is about 36! Come now. Jaidi, Sodje, McKenzie and Holland would do for free's for now, followed by a bid for Billy Sharp and Ricky Lambert. Always seemed good on FM) Amaury Bischoff (again, see above) Raidi Jihadi (old, but if free defo worth looking at, played well in CCC last year) Jonathon Fortune (why is he being released ?? Thought he was a good player) Zengh Zhi (again prob won't happen but rated him) Jonjo Shelvey (go on, we have the funds, Charlton are in the poo, have a cheeky bid) Ricky Lambert (especially if only a Mil) Jermain Beckford (i know he has come of transfer list but why not try) Nathon Tyson Voltz (thought he was quality player, defo DAJ, not seen much interest in him) Sodje (i would snap him up, sometimes a bit clumsy but for league 1 he will be a great signing) Edited 24 July, 2009 by Smirking_Saint

SNSUN Posted 27 July, 2009 Share Posted 27 July, 2009 (edited) I'm hoping for signings too. I'm back to work tomorrow and hope me being glued to SSN today is rewarded! Also, i was speaking to my girlfriend, a Norwich fan, yesterday about Leroy Lita and she was saying that when Norwich signed him, he was a natural goalscorer, and someone they needed permanently. Yes he's courted controversy throughout his career, but it sounds like we should be busting a ball to get him in if possible. Speculative? Well we need to be signing CCC quality players to get out of this league. Edited 27 July, 2009 by SNSUN

ottery st mary Posted 28 July, 2009 Share Posted 28 July, 2009 A lot of the reasonable players on the freebie list are going to end up playing non league football. Many of the clubs will not take a chance regardless of the the footballers previous record.. Carl Cort was a £7 million striker with Newcastle a short while ago and turned away by Wolves..He has now had a trial with Wycombe and been turned away by Peter Taylor...Legs gone/injury prone or demanding too many £s....Aged 31..Like many others will struggle to come off the freebie list whilst clubs tighten their belts.
