Greedyfly Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Haven't been his biggest fan in the past, though he was awful at times in the Champ and Prem....But have to say that is a hell of a coup. He was easily the player of the year last year.
Smirking_Saint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 F*cking hell, this just gets better and better
Minsk Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Superb news! Life gets better and better. Well done Bailey for calling this yesterday.

I thought SSN had just written him off to West Ham 30 minutes ago!!!!! YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
St Marco Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 but nich said he had signed for West Ham, it is not like him to be wrong! Seriously though the news get's better and better, Kelvin has done the club proud.
Wes Tender Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Great news, as it must have been a temptation to go to a Premiership team and earn much more than he did here. But perhaps he has a nice house down here, family and children settled with friends and he has made a decision based on the quality of life he has in this area. He quite likely remembers clearly the derision he got at Sunderland in the Premiership, when things hadn't gone well for him with a very leaky defence in front of him, but despite some stick early on when he came here, he worked hard and proved the doubters wrong. As a result, he has become a bit of a cult hero to us and this decision is likely to enhance that reputation. Ultimately, he might have decided that he gets paid enough to be comfortable financially and likes it down here. He obviously enjoys his football and might have considered that he would prefer to play every game here rather than warming the bench as the reserve keeper. With our new owner, exciting times are ahead and he might yet enjoy the ride back up to the Premiership over the next three or four years. A big thanks, anyway, Kelvin
iansums Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Fantastic news. Read what he says about holding himself responsible for our position. Total, total respect to the guy.

a1ex2001 Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Thats a statement of intent as I'm betting he didn't come cheap, would love to see Stern put pen to paper in the next day or two and really want to see young fish signed up.
Thedelldays Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 he is my new favourite player... I had my doubts when he first signed but lasy season he was a star easily the best keeper in league 1...by a long long way
swannymere Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Thanks for the loyalty Kelvin, becoming rarer and rarer these days, Cheers.
sussexsaint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Right just another 10 to stand infront of him then!
fanimal Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 With his desire, professionalism and responsibility. Then we might have a TEAM!!

saint peach Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Undoubtedly the best signing made this summer. Who needs the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo? We've got Super Kelvin Davis!
RedAndWhite91 Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 I'm proper glad he stayed, probably my favourite player last season, and will be again this season, come on you reds!
Mole Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Kelvin has been loyal and his loyalty has been rewarded. LOL at BWP ****ing off just before the takeover.

Scummer Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Thedelldays said: where did he go..? Don't think he's gone anywhere. His contract is up, but as far as I'm aware he hasn't joined anyone else. I'd be happy for him to sign a new deal.
alwill Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Fantastic news! Amazing how a bit of good news cheers up your day.

I can't cope with this and wonder how other Saints fan may struggle with this bizarre shift of fortune. That's more good news in 2 days than we've had in the last 10-15 years!

chocco boxo Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Hats off to Kelvin. What better feeling running out to a packed Chapel/Notham end getting a cheer than playing in front of 126 people at a Ressie match?
the saint in winchester Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Great news that KD has signed. But ... Davis, Bialkowski, Foreacast, Poke ... we can't keep 4 goalkeepers. One will have to be moved on. But which one?
Saint Richard of Woolston Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Fantastic news. Almost as important as yesterday's announcement. Just as well he does not bear grudges against the morons who were booing only a couple of short years ago.

red&white56 Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Excellent, I think this will be key for getting a good defense together this season. I think he's matured into a great team player and as keepers can play on into their 40s he can become the core for our return to the Premiership!!! Any news on JPS???
nickfinks Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 loyalty is only a 7 letter word yet it is so rare, cheers fella
Saint_Si Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 WHAT A HERO!! I love you Kelvin!! Now officially a Saints legend!
patred44 Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 West Ham target another keeper Zola has wasted little time in inquiring about a cover keeper for Robert Green, now that his first choice Kelvin Davis has snubbed West Ham. Zola, desperate to get a number 2 keeper for his England No1 will try to persuade Portsmouth's aging David James to return to the club where he had success in the past. I understand that James is signing for them now. He has been there since 10 am, but Zola's attempts to sign Calamity has hit a major sticking point. James has dropped the pen 14 times..
John Boy Saint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Yesterday was Christmas Day, today is Boxing day and your favourite Auntie has just popped in with another great present. Thank you Kelvin (and whoever had a word in your ear)

I too wasn't his biggest fan in his first season and tbf he did have quite a number of ropey games - but I would blame that more on Burley for not dropping him and giving Bart a go earlier when he was on form. But easily our best player for probably the last two seasons, not just last. Well done Kelvin - you've certainly won me over, and especially for your loyalty. Fair play to you sir Edited 9 July, 2009 by Petersfield Saint spelling. D'oh

Petersfield Saint Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Just want to add that I'm already feeling VERY optimistic about the new season and that even promotion isn't out of the equation! Then again I thought we were going to make the play-offs last season!
ottery st mary Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Top Man and A really Top Saint....Well done The Goalkeeper..
StD Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 Exactly the sort of commitment we need. Class keeper, perfect captain.
CB Fry Posted 9 July, 2009 Posted 9 July, 2009 It's unbeleivable he wants to stay, I doubt anyone would have begrudged him a move to the Prem, especially as he had been training at WHU. So for him to stay is just fantastic. Probably player of the season already.
