I'm not really sure why all this *****ing happens. I can understand why people get frustrated during games if people stop tracking back at all, especially near the end, but why not just have a word on the pitch, or start playing vague offside rules, or something? no effort at all can make things seem a bit stale, but then, people want to come and play on their own terms. TSF Sunday wouldn't exist without that.

You'll be glad to know that I will not be there next week so thats one less 'can't be arsed' person (ignore the fact i've got no fitness and don't c the point of running for someone who can't pass!)

at least you try though mate

Noog, Ben will be fine, I'm seeing him later. It's just a thigh strain, but he's struggling with it a bit. He needs to warm it up more to be honest, and also consider having a sit out for a week or two with no playing at all.

The running thing - as it happens, I thought some of those I might normally assume were those less likely to run, actually ran more or sat back for a change. Anyway, it wasn't too bad, there've been much worse.

I think the main thing is ensuring that the issue doesn't force players away - to keep going what is a fairly pleasant kickabout, generally played in the right spirit, perhaps we should consider doing things a bit more properly. As a result of some team imbalances, we introduced the 'team choosing' thing, which has been a success. We bought some bibs - again, a common sense solution to a problem. We could think outside the box a bit again, and maybe switch positions. It needn't be too complex, but maybe every time the team keeper changes, a striker goes in - and from goal, to defence, then to midfield, then up front again, in turns. I don't see why we couldn't sort something out, then. I think this is likely to halt any issues about running back, because we'd have (depending on numbers) at least 2/3 defenders all the time who should stay back, roughly - and must get back, anyway - 2/3 midfielders, 1/2 strikers.. etc.

I don't think the position swapping would really work, quite a lot of the time I like to just sit back and defend. Don't think we really need to change much to keep it enjoyable, we should have moved a player across last Sunday though, once Ben got injured it was all one way traffic and as people got bored it got worse.
